Fran, all the best to you.  Hope all is well.

Stars, when I visited your area from Florida a few times, and there were a lot of Floridian there, we were called "Floridiots".  I guess the mountains has a love/hate relationship with summer residents like we do with our winter residents who fuel the economy but drive slow.  😂

Tweety, You are not yet, despite your great and ancient age, old enough , plus you're not short enough, and you are of the wrong gender to be a Florida Bluehair. The name comes from the white-headed ladies who have washed blue-silver rinse in their tight little perm-curled hair-dos, who are only able to peer out the windshield from UNDER the top of the steering wheel.

Anyway, when I was in your area, there were, as I recall, such a plethora of 4-way stops, speed was hardly a viable option! 😉

Before 1960 driving from Oklahoma to California we were behind one of the drivers my Dad like to make fun of, an "Old Man With a Hat On" driving 30 MPH in a 65 zone with his left turn signal on. We couldn't pass him on that narrow road, but after almost an hour he turned right. The left turn signal was still on.

Good afternoon everyone. Tomorrow morning is the morning I learn if I have colon cancer. I'm not a very fearful person, because I have had life-threatening experiences before, but I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you.

Fran - praying for you.

Ah, that Old Man With a Hat On . . . lives up here now!

Good afternoon!  So far the day has been good.  We had our annual 1st Harvest BBQ after church.  Lots of good food and it was hard to pass by all the carby-stuff.  But I did well.  Three hamburger patties and a couple of lettuce salads.   But Lobstah roll . . . I dunno if I could have passed that by.

I'm thinking of hiking to our local waterfall.  It is windy and about 70 degrees.

Tweety - some good friends took their two young granddaughters to Disney World, down your way.  They posted before and after photos of Day 1 and the after photo shows 4 exhausted people - the humidity is pretty awful they say.  They were headed straight to the pool.

My #2 son and his bride-to-be had professional engagement photos taken and put them all up today.  Beautiful.  Maybe I'll post one below.

Enjoy your Sunday folks.  The on-call nurse has been really busy this weekend and I brought her a plate of food from the bbq because she didn't have time to get a lunch.

Waterfall, here I come . . .

Well, they must have relatives in this area and up in the mountains ; I call them: "Mr.-and-Mrs.-Twenty-Five-Miles-Per-Hour".

Baby boomers, who are now in their 60's and 70's aren't going to do the "blue hair" thing.  I've seen some with pink and purple hair, highlights and all kinds of natural colors but not the old looking styles of their parents generation who earned the term "Florida Bluehair".    Plus they are getting tattoos.  We boomers aren't going to age the same.  😂

Yep, that's true, but there are still Florida Bluehairs in existence!

Many boomers have MANY tattoos. I have exercised my option to not have even the tiniest little tattoo-ette placed in/on any spot of my skin.

Did you tattoo?

I guess I am a 'long-haired brown-hair', and there just isn't any pizzazz to that; it doesn't roll off the tongue as easily.

And (not making fun, mind you,) I saw a woman at the grocery store...she had a HUGE Afro, the color of moss/lichen. Someone behind me in line murmured, "Chia Pet!"

At my first job, prior to nursing school, I wore my long hair drawn back, but had long, eyelash-length thick, straight bangs. So a fellow I worked and ate lunch with told me his father asked him, "Who was the "acorn" you sat with in the dining-room today?"  I thought it was pretty clever and funny!

I have a thin long salt and pepper gray ponytail. To me it is easier that short hair at almost 75 years old.
