Good Morning. . . and Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there!

It looks to be another sunny, but hot and humid day today. Amy and I are getting ready for another video-recording project of hers. It's another "how to" recipe for a gluten-free Italian pasta dish. The cameras are all up and ready to go. All that's needed are the cooking ingredients and the Star of the video. (It usually takes Amy about 2 hours to get herself looking just the way she wants to look for the camera. She's good at it, too. Seriously. Because of her many years performing on stage, she's learned to be a very talented make-up artist and costumer.) Will probably be spending the evening editing the video.

Tomorrow night I'm scheduled to work. If the opportunity presents itself, I will accept being "On Call with Pay". I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

I hope all have a pleasant day today. Peace, folks! 🙂

Ted

Good Morning!

Happy Father's Days to those dad's and wives of fathers.  And to us dog and cat dads.  🙂

Ted, Amy looks really good in her videos.   Enjoy!

Dianah, hope you're having a nice and relaxing time.

BC, hope things work out with Poppy.  She's so adorable.

Herring, Duke and Pearl are adorable as well.

Stars, hope that you're well and the pain has subsided.

While I did cancel my trip and a restaurant outing due to the rise in Covid here, I did decide to still go to the gym where I can distance and wear a mask.  I also decided to continue with yoga class.  Even though we were distanced they decided to make the class size even smaller.  I got a pass last time I was there and don't want to waste it.  Though nothing is more important that staying safe and healthy.

Saw on FB and don't know if it's true that one of the hospitals in Tampa got 178 Covid Positive admissions yesterday.  I find that hard to believe, but would believe that many showed up to the ER.  Nonetheless Florida registered another 4,000 cases yesterday.  I was supportive of us opening up six weeks ago and we were good for four weeks, but it seems like we've thrown caution to the wind and given up, so ultimately I was wrong.  But really can't imagine still being in lock down 4 months later.  Sad that I was wrong about people and even at one point proud of us for being so compliant and having low rates of infection.  All I can do now is keep myself safe and deal with the fall out at work.

I had a decent solo day yesterday.  Went to the gym, mowed the front yard, and walked 7 miles.  My right foot ached for a while afterwards and reminded me of my old age but I'm okay this morning.

Morning Ted, is a good day to stay in and do a video

Tweety glad you were able to get to the gym and yoga

Yesterday was productive.  Got outside early but it was still pretty hot.  Saw a hummingbird up close for the first time but few other birds.

Did some baking and laundry, worked on cross stitch and exercised.  Evening was spent relaxing, watching some Three Stooges and Svengoolie (he had The Man With Nine Lives with Boris Karloff)  Was good I stayed in as my stomach was acting up.

Feeling better this morning, although feeling a bit nervous for no apparent reason.  Have church via Zoom, then some cooking after that.  In the evening I'll go for a bike ride and watch The Crown

Have tomorrow off

Today should be fairly warm, but less so then yesterday and rain unlikely.

Happy Father's Day!

Lots of calls, cards, and gifts to husband today!

We just enjoyed a local news show when the anchor's father was on via Skype showing his son's stuffed dog that he slept with as a toddler and a photo of himself with his son at age four.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, whether your kids be 2 or 4 legged.

It's about 90 here and humid.  We had a great day yesterday at the beach.  The water was warmer, so I was able to go in and cool off.  Today I did some pool maintenance and fiance's DDs are coming over for an outdoor, socially distanced visit.  I made a Key Lime pie and some cowboy caviar with beans, corn, and seasonings.

Poppy and Niko are adjusting to each other.  I aminly keep Poppy in the spare room, but she and Niko have had some socially distanced encounters.  There's been a bit of hissing, but no attacks or growling.  I think they will be accepting of each other in time.

Ted-I hope the video goes well and you get to eat the results!

Tweety-I'm glad the yoga studio reduced the class size.  I know you're doing everything you can to stay safe.

Joe-I'm glad you got to see a hummingbird!  I have a feeder and I love to watch them.

Herring-I'm happy your DH is hearing from a lot of people today.

Hope all are enjoying their days.

Afternoon all - stinky miserable hot in NJ. I think a neighbor had a graduation bash Friday. Heard the car horn honkings REALLLLY close and then later, the neighbor had some kind of  BBQ on his property.

Happy Fathers' Day to any of you Dads out there. And also in honor to all our Dads, past and still with us. I freq think more of my Dad now than in the past. I think it's knowing how devastating the C19 isolation would be crushing him.

Tweety - I cringe thinking of you in FL and the C19 resurgence there. Prayers to stay safe for you. You and everyone else doubling up on their own safety measures.

Am a bit envious of all you pet parents. Too big a safety issue for me, but I'd really want 2 cats.

Trying to make up my mind re making a crockpot of crab spaghetti sauce. It's just that it's quite a physical task to use my bigger crockpot. But dumb not to!I've got all the ingredients

Hi, and happy fathers day to human and pet dads.

Tweety, I too am concentrating on staying healthy: trying to eat healthy carbs, fats and proteins, exercising daily, Vit. D supplements, and meditating to keep my cortisol levels down. And I choose not to work extra to avoid that stress.

I just got a call from dh's sister. She works at a large retailer and has been exposed to coronavirus. She had questions about where to get tested and understands she may need to quarantine. She mostly worried about her mom (my MIL). So far, she is asymptomatic 8 days after exposure, so I hope that continues.

I went out for my usual Sunday breakfast with ds; we invited dh to come with but he slept in instead. We brought him back his favorite drink from Starbucks. I saw the barista attach the lid with her bare hand, so I removed it and washed it before giving it to dh.  Now he has gone to his office. He left his personal cell there and I hope dd and other ds call or text him. Did a run, am washing sheets and trying to get motivated to do some yard work. Bleh.

I look forward to the next great production from Amy/Ted studios!

Hurray for beach time.

Amo, take it easy and pace yourself.

Opted not to make the crab sauce. Did make a hamburger with fried egg on a sandwich. Never heard of it before but the past 2 yrs or so, I just love' em! Don't know if it's a regional Jersey/Philly thing.

j22 - it's funny what you notice - in all the precautionary efforts being made, I have to bring it up to TPTB re signing those electronic service computer screens that providers want clients to sign. Like how is the stylus pen being sanitized after each use? My personal care CNA has me signing now - didn't have to do it orig'ly, but then she wasn't bringing the computer into homes. But that changed when we questioned the agency about the wisdom of leaving computers inside HOT cars to FRY. So it seems one problem solved, but now have another. I do have a suggestion how to fix it -  I believe if you can't offer a soln to a problem, then don't complain!! That issue also occurred when I was at the specialty hospital sign-in, also when I had to sign for the medi-transp. To follow -

How's the arm situation?

NoStars - are you OK? Missing you.

Hello all!  I'm in a 1st Day of Summer mood (June 20) and thought I'd check in on ya'll.

Also, Happy Fathers Day.  Our tradition of root beer floats will happen later this evening.

Nice here - warm, not humid, great weather to work in the yard (I did) and walk to a local waterfall (I also did).

My last child, Spidey (aka Danny) graduated high school two weekends ago.  I'll be an empty-nester in August when he heads off to college.

We spent the last two days watching him play Legion Baseball here in CA and Oregon.

We have no positive cases of Covid-19 up here but in our entire county, we only have 81.  Most are isolated or quarantined at home.

That's a short version of my life.  Nice to read about all of you guys.

When I peeked at my work email today I see 21 new COVID cases today, bringing our little county to 499, with 39 deaths since March. One cannot attribute all new cases to increased testing, because we are still only testing symptomatic and close contacts to positive cases. Plus the hospital tests people pre-procedure. A local MD had a pt refuse to do a pre-procedure test because she thought if she was positive the state would take her children away. Thank you internet, not.

Hello and belated Happy Father's Day!

Good to catch up with you all!

We are still up in the mountains camping.  Went into the resort town yesterday, 20 min away from the campground.  Had Thai food and did some grocery shopping.  In the late afternoon we played music for the camp hosts (they remembered us from a few years ago, camping with the band) and a dozen or so fellow campers.

Today was a quiet day, reading and a walk and doing a little music.  We have been putting out raw walnuts for the nearby chipmunk and stellar jays.  They LOVE them!  We got some wild bird sees at the grocery store but they all seem to prefer the walnuts.  It is so pleasant to sit outside surrounded by trees and occasional bird calls, hearing kids play at neighboring campsites and feeling a nice breeze taking the heat off (it was 80 degrees today).  At night we hear the crackling of campfires, if we go outside (which we rarely do, we are buttoned up in the RV by 9pm, us old ones!!).  We will be here till Friday.  And, tho I have no phone service myself, dh has a mobile router that gives us wifi, They HIS phone server.  So it's nice to somewhat be connected.  I am reading a lot, taking walks and playing music.

Have a good evening and a nice day tomorrow!
