Morning

Busy day yesterday.  Took the cat to the groomers without too much trouble.  Did some chopping in preparation for cooking today, did some baking, did some cleaning, then ran a few errands.  Including stopping by the local bookstore, which is closing next month

In the afternoon I went out birdwatching but didn't see much except a fox sparrow and a warbler.  Guess birds are more active during the day.  I exercised and decided to watch Svengoolie after all.  The movie turned out to be OK.

Today have church by Zoom and cooking.  Also going to ride my bike a bit as the weather remains nice, in the 70s

Will get hotter during the rest of the week

Morning, Joe and all who follow,

I had a very relaxing day yesterday.  I spent most of it on my deck, reading and listening to music.  It was sunny and in the 70s-perfection!  Today is cooler, with temps staying in the 60s.  I'm going to see my mother.  She somehow closed a drawer on her hand the other day and fractured 2 fingers.  She has osteoporosis, so it's not surprising that she breaks easily.  I am worried about her living alone at age 87, but she will not discuss any other options.  She is very healthy and completely mobile, and doesn't consider herself to be old.  We will have a socially distanced visit in her backyard.

Stars-I am sorry you are in so much pain.  I'm glad you are taking care of yourself, and that DH is showing the proper respect!  I hope you can get in touch with the doctor tomorrow.

Joe-What are you cooking today?

Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Good Morning -

Joe - Seems like you have a nice day planned for yourself, today. Enjoy the bike ride with the beautiful weather!

BCgradnurse - Sad to read about your Mom. (Ouch!) I hope your Mom continues on with her good health and independence. I also hope she accepts support when offered. We all need some level of support at various times in our lives.

NSIME - I hope you feeling better. Hope you're able to see your PCP tomorrow or as soon as possible.

Tweety - I read the article that you shared on Facebook. Good for that nurse who resigned. Hopefully that hospital, and other healthcare facilities, take notice and make a strong, focused and sincere effort to protect their employees and patients. (Of course, it would be significantly helpful if PPEs were aggressively manufactured during this pandemic, and made readily available to all. But, that's another topic for another discussion for another time on another forum.)

It looks to be another beautiful day today. After I'm done typing here, Amy and I will be going out for another one of our power-walks. Happily, I accepted being On Call, last night. Did not get Called In. (Yes!) I had a good night's sleep, gratefully.

Scheduled to work tonight. I doubt being On Call will be offered. It's not my turn now. But if offered, I'll accept it. Again. 😉

Nothing much else going on. Gonna get ready to go outside and do some power-walking!

Cheers! 🙂

Ted

Good Morning,

Had a pleasant day yesterday. Had planned to do a virtual 5K with youngest grandson in the morning, but he wasn't into it after all, so we walked about 2 miles instead. I was pointing out the various birds that I could identify, and dd saw a bird I didn't recognize. Once I got home and looked in a field guide, I think it was a sapsucker. Afterwards I came home and cleaned house, made potato salad and shortcake for strawberries. Dh got groceries, and later eldest ds and his fiancé, dd and 2 grandsons came over for bbq. Dh grilled burgers and corn and we had watermelon. ds's Fiance brought a blueberry cake she made for grandson's birthday. It warmed up enough that we could sit out on the deck to visit and eat. Eldest ds is still quite sore from his pacer/icd implant. He is supposed to return to work tomorrow.

It is cool and cloudy today, again. That hasn't slowed the grow of weeds or lawn, so that is where I will focus efforts today.

Stars I hope you can continue to rest today and be seen tomorrow.

BC, best wished to your mom.

Joe, have fun on your bike!

Have a good walk, Ted.

Herring, is your car all shiny now?

Wishing all to stay corona free!

Hello!

Stars hope you feel better

Ted her letter gets an A plus from me.  We have plenty of PPE and never have been without.  What I think people here think is that it's a bottomless pit and management is hoarding.  Not the case   Especially when initially we thought we'd be hit bad.  I see people being wasteful and want to scream.  I do wish we didn't have to reuse them though but without conservation measures we'd run out.  I just hope the lesson is to stay well stocked at all times with ppe made in the USA

Have a great day.

I'm making shakshuka, something Tweety has also made in the past.  Have started making it again after not having made any for a number of years

Spending another day on the bed. The triage nurse at the spine doc's office did call me, but it was a call she made for the Dr's PA ... who was supposed to call me back, but didn't. Guess my description of S/S didn't sound too alarming? I dunno. Hope they can get me in ASAP, I am NOT enjoying this interlude because the pains and aches are rude and unwelcome,

and then; and then? They tied her to the railroad tracks. (see* below)

Also have developed a right upper-outer-quadrant abdominal pain. I may end up going to a gut doc, too. I've been researching a lot about this kind of abdominal pain  ....  could be, might be?... many things. Many! My previous PCP didn't think much of my diagnostic abilities, and I admit that trying to dx this abdominal pain, which has organs involved all in a cluster...is a real challenge. I'm not alarmed, but I am pretty annoyed.

* So, I can't sing, "And then along came Jones..." No Jones coming along. Oh dear!

But wait! Wouldn't it be funny if they refer me to a Dr. Jones, to examine my abdomen?

Ah, well, this day has just DRAGGED on and on!

I may NAP in lieu of any other activity.

Evening all.

You domestic  gods & goddesses who cook make me feel sooo embarrassed that I rarely make anything with any prolonged prep & cooking time. Just don't have the stamina. But, ONCE IN A WHILE, I will make something. I have been wanting chocolate, so I made a box mix pan of chocolate BROWNIES with peanut butter chips, expresso chips, CoCo Crispies and mini marshmallows. Oh, does it smell soooo good. And it was just what I wanted. Unfortunately, I may be giving most of it away - I don't need the extra calories. That's a disadvantage of being solo - it's tough to pare down larger recipes so if it's there, I'll eat it. MAJOR NO NO!!

I also think my new megace side effect of increased appetite is kicking in. I cannot allow this to happen.

Also had to look up shakshuka. Poached eggs on a well seasoned tomato stew. Does sound good and more than what I simplified. Rachel Ray was always making something like that.

NSIME - sorry about the health issues. You need a much needed (and well deserved) physical rest. But who wants it to be when sick!?!? Hope all works out for Hubs' health too.

Tweety - you're Florida, right? I worry for you staff when I learn of the alarming trends escalating again.

j22 & Stars - hope you reach your PMPs tomorrow. Waiting when you can't do anything BUT wait is sooo frustrating! Only thing I can best equate it with is when I'd wait for those interminable 30 secs or so waiting for the pee stick to change color (or NOT). Excruciating wait! 😲

Time to take my meds & bedtime.
