Morning

Yesterday was fairly quiet.  Got out for birdwatching early.  Stopped at the farmer's market.  Did some embroidery and did the laundry.  Mostly stayed in as it was very hot and humid

Today have in person church, thankfully in the parish hall as it's  air conditioned.  Will ride my bike later once the rains have left and things have dried out a bit.  Might do some chopping in preparation for cooking tomorrow

Weather will be cooler than yesterday, probably due to the rains.  I'm hoping it doesn't make things humid

Good morning.

Joe, enjoy your day.

Ted, I really enjoyed the video yesterday.  You have a really nice house.

Amo, not sure what changes you're talking about on the Yellow side.  Perhaps I'm not as familiar with it as you are.

J22, I'm so happy I don't have to wear full PPE all day.  I don't know how the people that test here in Florida do it.

Checked my app and found I wasn't booked for the yoga class I though I was but they did have a spot, so I'm heading there at 11:00 and hope to get a walk in today.  Our rainy season seems to have finally arrived with daily showers the last few days but otherwise the usually sunny hot and muggy.

Weight this morning was an all time low.  Well, low for this go around (I'm still 6 pounds more than when I was 30 haha).  A coworker said I really don't need to loose any more weight and I think that's probably true.  BMI is in "normal weight" category.

Hope all stay safe and have a good day.

Morning-

Had a lovely day yesterday relaxing and then dinner at a local farm.  Headed to the beach in a few minutes.  It's hot as Hades, but I'll be in and out of the water the whole time.  Tomorrow DD and I will go to Block Island for the day.  I must remember my Dramamine for the ferry ride.  The crossing is choppy, and I'm very prone to seasickness.  We'll take our bikes and ride around the island, and stop at one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to.

So today is my 59th birthday.  My BMI is definitely higher than it was at age 30, 😂, but all in all I'm doing ok.  I'm very thankful for my health, especially in these times.

Joe-Enjoy your church service.  What are you cooking today?

Tweety-glad you got into the yoga class.  How are you surviving your overtime?

Hope everyone has a great day.  Stay safe and be well.

BC, was just coming back to wish you happy birthday!  Happy Birthday!

Doing well so far with the overtime.  But it's only one week so far.  Haha.  Was very tiring to have to leave at 9pm last night after my 3rd 12 in a row.  I bounced back.  I'm really going to make an effort not to fizzle out.  If I find it's too much at my advanced age, I'll make myself stop.  I can always elect to negate the contract and sacrifice the money.  I'm fortunate that it's a "would be nice to have the money for projects and travel" but not a necessity to make ends meet or get out of debt.

Good Morning!

Joe - Seems like you had a nice day, yesterday, and that today seems nice too. We still don't have in-house church yet. Our church council decided to take it by a month to month basis. Maybe August? Maybe September? We still have near-by areas showing new Covid-19 cases. It's slowed down, significantly, though, thankfully.  Enjoy the bike ride!

Tweety - Judging by the pictures that you share on Facebook, you look great! You look healthy, and you look happy. . . especially when on the beach!  No need to worry about losing any more weight! L O L! 😄

Had a very nice day, yesterday, visiting with family and celebrating birthdays. Gotta admit, we didn't Social Distance like I thought we did. To be honest, I forgot all about the whole Social Distancing thing. We've all been symptom-free throughout the past few months. Up until yesterday, we've all been taking appropriate measures to help prevent the spread of this virus. Hopefully, we're all negative! (Too late now, I guess. In retrospect, I do wish we were more careful.) Still, we had a very nice visit together. This part of the family are known to be extraordinary shy. All of them. They're the text-book definitions to the word, "shy". But they (we) all were very talkative, and happy to be around each other after months of "social distancing" from society at large. But. . . we all really need to be careful during social gatherings. (Ugh)

The BAAAAAD thing that happened yesterday was our central air-conditioning pooping out on us, especially on a day that was extra hot and humid!! (UGH!!!) It's a 15 year old central air-condition unit cooling a 15 year old house. It's understandable that it needs significant maintenance. But yesterday?? On a hot and humid day?!!?? What had not-good day to show signs of aging! (I'm talking about the air-conditioning unit, not about me! 😛 ) Gratefully, the guy who repairs such things came over almost immediately after we called him about our troubles. (THAT was very cool, and we were very grateful for his services.) He's gonna order the new parts, and hopefully things will be up and running by this coming Monday or Tuesday. We're probably gonna need a new unit. Specifically, we're gonna need a new blower (which circulates the air around our home), and a new furnace. The furnace part is showing signs of age, too. But the actual out-door air-conditioning unit seems to be working fine, ironically. (Ugh!)

Prior to having family over yesterday, Amy and I did our power-walk. It was during mid-morning and by that time it was already hot and humid. Today? No power-walk. It's already very muggy weather outside for such activities. Amy is quietly working on her gardens and I'm upstairs typing on this post. 😄  I'm gonna try to focus on writing a new composition. There's a regular fan in our studio which helps to keep things somewhat bearable. The new computer is set-up and ready to go for such music-writing, and video-editing endeavors. Yes!

BCgradnurse - I see that you posted while I was typing. Happy Birthday to you! Enjoy your day!! 🙂

Everyone. . . much warm thoughts and affection to you all. Peace! 🙂

Ted

Greetings Ted, Joe, Tweety, BCgrad, nurseJ22, and all who appear later!

Joe, the fish stew sounds good (depending on the recipe; I had some once that I didn't care for, but had to be polite and eat most of.  We like the tom yum pla fish soup at most Thai restaurants; is your recipe like that?)

Tweety, hang in there! You take care of yourself so well, I am thinking these few weeks of OT will be difficult but not unbearable for you.  I hope the Covid numbers start dropping soon, and things become more "normal," so you can use that money and travel!  or whatever!

Ted, GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, A/C quit??  Was this while your guests were there?  Good you were able to have someone come out right away, and diagnose and at least do a temporary fix.  Ours went out a couple years ago, during the summer (but it's a DRY heat!), and we were without A/C for almost three days before someone was available to come out.  We survived, house got to 85-90 degrees, which was cooler than outside at least!  Sounds like you had a good visit with The Shy Ones, 🙂

BCgrad, your time at the beach and heading to the island sound wonderful, ENJOY!  and Happy Birthday!

Last night was another night of insomnia.  I think I fell asleep after 3.  Slept in.  Made pancakes for dh for breaky.  When we were camping I found a mix at the grocery store, it only requires adding water (easy-peasy), and is keto-friendly.  I didn't add chopped pecans, like I did when we were camping, but dh still loved the pancakes!  They were a nice treat.

Today's tasks are few, which will be a good match for post-insomnia; forecast is for 98 degrees outside.

Have a good day!

🎶Happy Birthday to you, BCg!!! 🎂 🚴‍♀️🏊‍♀️ Enjoy your bicycling and swimming!😊 I hope you don't get urpy🤢on your boat ride ⛴️ over to or back from Block Island!

dianah, wonder why I don't care for pancakes at all, but I love waffles. Same ingredients, aren't they?

Joe, I like fish stew, and either chowdah or soup is okay by me. My Mom made the BEST Fish Chowdah, and I haven't seen any like hers anywhere. She didn't make it all thick and gloppy like a lot of places do. Clam is good too, as long as it uses WHOLE clams and not those stringy rubbery little things they serve as clams (ie, minus the belly) inland.

Tweety, I don't want you to 'fizzle out' during your scheduled work, either! I don't know (or want to) my BMI; I'd like to get my weight down just because I would feel better being thinner and could wear all those size 16's I have tucked away since the last time I was 20+ pounds less than I am now. People say, "You don't look fat!" ... but by the numbers, I am officially OOOOObese. Crapola.

Ted, Sorry about your AC! We had the one here die after we'd been here a month. Fortunately Nannie's financial advisor said a brand new AC/heating unit could be paid for out of her investment $$, so we only had to tolerate 2 days of a hot house, and the second day was the day they installed everything, so by that evening we were Aahhhh, coolin' it!

So it's 95 or 98 depending on which thermometer you read. Clouds that were nowhere to be seen this morning, are gathering ... plotting and planning, no doubt, for this afternoon's humdinger storm.

Did a bit of grocery shopping for what we couldn't find the other day. That's enough outdoor-ing for me!

One thing I noticed today after I pahked the cah and wahked  (listened to two Boston natives talking on TV last night) to the store entrance ... I was walking with my previously NORMAL stride that I haven't been able to do for quite a LONG time! It was kind of an epiphany, in a way, when I noticed it! WOW! Hubby says I even walk upstairs differently now, but it was the long-legged stride that *I* noticed. Smoooooth Movin'!

Uh-oh, hubby tells me that our hair-person had gone into the hospital to have her gall-bladder removed. Then she went home. And 2 days later she had to go back in due to an EXTREME rise in her blood pressure. Not sure what's going on with her. We were supposed to get our haircuts on Tuesday coming up, but that doesn't worry me because mine is long enough to pull back into a pony-tail. Not hubby, though. Wonder if he'd let me trim him up if he gets shaggy enough? He's got way less hair, length-wise, and it is much thinner on the scalp. You know, I still have his pony tail from when he had long, copper colored curls, AND a braided rat's-tail from way back in the days. My, my, my!

No, it's not Thai, more Italian.  A modified a fairly basic fish stew recipe with peppers and Italian spices and marinara sauce

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BCGRADNURSE!

I just bathed the dogs. They are cool, but rolled in the dirt already.
