Good morning!

Been waiting for someone else to start the thread, but here I go again.

Herring that sounds like a dreadful experience during the earthquake, but we do what we gotta do and sounds like everyone kept their spirits up.

Had a decent day yesterday.  Went with best friend to Sam's Club to get him some cat litter  and I wound up getting $100 worth of stuff for myself using his membership.  We had dinner at a really good Lebonese restaurant I've been meaning to try for a long time.  He's still using crutches but said the pain is pretty much non-existent, so I am hoping his pain after the cast was removed was indeed just some inflammation like plantar fasciitis.

Nothing much on the agenda today, just some housework, cooking and going to yoga later.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Tweety

Quiet day for me yesterday.  Got out early for a hike then had lunch with dad.  Rain largely held off for the day

Today have church then brunch with J

Rains have finally stopped, over the next week no rain expected except maybe Wed.  Cooler here today, will be below 80, though temps will increase as the week goes on

Good Morning -

Been up for a while working on that dance video. The first 2-hour dance recital is almost finished. (It's been a number of days since I worked on it.)

It down-poured, yesterday. The heavens relaxed and emptied its very full bladder. (How's that for imagery?!? L O L!) While it was pissing outside, it got angry and boomed several loud claps of thunder. I actually love thunder storms. The dog?!? Not so much. Our poor "Psycho Dog" was clinging to me like a wet rag. Literally. He was by my side, panting and slobbering saliva all over the place. He got lots of love and reassurance. He also got his evening pills, which I was reluctant to do initially, but did anyhow, tempted to give him a double dose (which is prescribed for him if necessary). (I did not give him a double dose.) Eventually the thunder storms calmed down as did our dog.

But all the rain. . . that rain!! The yard is a jungle out there! The grass must get shortened somehow. Apparently, the grass ain't going to shorten itself.

But first?!? Church.

Nothing much else going on.

Thanks, Tweety, for starting today's Good Morning thread. Again.

Joe - Enjoy lunch with J!

To all who travel here today. . . Peace! 🙂

Ted

Good morning Ted, Tweety, and Joe.  And the rest of you when you come aboard.

It is a quiet morning and the window fans are still on, bringing cool air into the house.

We could use some rain here Ted.  Last year at this time we had fires going on all around and more all summer. So far, so good this year.

Not sure what the day will bring.  I know we'll head out to the ranch to say goodbye to family leaving for home; Idaho, Oregon, and south of us in California.

Enjoy your Sunday folks.

Glad to read you amoLucia!

I love reading Ted put off mowing the lawns every year!

Glad you enjoyed lunch with Dad, Joe!

Hi Steph! I don't even restrict carbs, just no refined carbs or sugar. If I eat something sweet I really enjoy it, but go out of control. Generally I stop it the next day with a big bowl of ice cream late at night. THEN go back to carbs meaning whole fruit, corn on the cob, lots of veggies, and such. I'm staying about 130 pounds. My ideal weight would be 112 to 118 according to most charts.

The Northridge quake was more than 25 years ago. That year I turned 50 and finished my BSN,

A week from today will be step-Mom's memorial party. Sisters are doing more work on this than I am. She wanted wine, chips and guacamole and salsa, and Dixieland music. It will be at her former senior village. Our Dad was in the band and she was band manager for a few years. It should be nice.

herring, are you related to Nannie's ancient relatives? You seem to have lived to ...500 (!?!)  quite a bit older than her grandma (295) and an aunt (245) 🤣

Ted, 'fess up; you've always wanted to live in those "amber waves of grain" and THAT is why you avoid (with the help of Mom-Nature) mowing the grass!

H'lo Tweety, Joe and Steph! (and the etc's who will be coming along here after a while...)

It is once again an airless day with hot sunshine, building clouds, about 96 or so (like the 'or so' really matters, 'cause hot is HOT!) Afternoon thunderstorms called for during the next three days. But the last supposed torrential downpour that was predicted lasted less than 10 minutes.

We are watching this afternoon's Braves ball game; the announcer said Atlanta is 'like a sauna'.

As 49% Finn, I want to correct everyone who says sauna wrong: it is NOT 'sawn-ah'; it is pronounced 's-OW-nah' . The 'a-u' is pronounced with both letters, as 'ow'...hence the 's-ow-nah'. I've been told that the trick to the Finnish language is that all, ALL, of the vowels are pronounced separately-together. I could give you another example of correct pronunciation using my real last name, but then I wouldn't be A Nonny-Muss. Okay, enough of that!  'Mercy Buttercups' for listenin'.  😉 I don't mind fracturing French, as you can see.

Yah, well, guess I'll start doing some crossword puzzles while listening to and intermittently watching the game. May check back in later...

Enjoy your day!

The only way I don't feel lethargic, bloated, and tired is to go low carb.  Corn on the cob and fruit are off limits but the truth is I crave salty stuff.  I can turn down ice cream easily.

I wish I were 130 pounds!  I found a photo on Friday of myself and my mom from 40 years ago and titled it "40 years, 40 pounds, and 40 wrinkles ago" on my Instagram.  Ha!  I used to weight about 120.  You do math. 😱

Spidey is in the back, taking nails out of boards, and sweating up a storm.  We put up a pop-up cover for shade.  I'll head out there to apply Roundup to those darn goatheads (aka puncture vine).

Hello all!

Ted, did you mow today?

herring, hope the memorial service is nice (or whatever is best for a memorial service to be).

Hope you have all had a good day.

Dh and I drove to Disneyland and wandered around for a few hours.  The landscaping was beautiful as always.  We noticed it was a light traffic day, while walking around.  Just didn't encounter the usual crowds.  Ah!  Yes!  The new area, Galaxy's Edge, was open!  So in between hearing the music sets and visiting with friends, we wandered through this new area.  It was very well-done, visually.  Saw Chewbacca doing a meet-n-greet.  saw the Millenium Falcon docked!  Watched two Storm Troopers keep order amongst the passers-by.  Saw one refreshment stand offering green milk or blue milk for sale.  We will have to go back and take in more details.  Got kinda hot walking around.

We left around four, feeling kinda tired.  Have had dinner and will do a few chores to prepare for the work week.

We had lunch yesterday with youngest ds and his wife, who are continuing to pack for their move to Ohio.  We will sure miss having them nearby but wish them a better lifestyle and work situation.  I know her family will be thrilled to have them nearby.  🙂

Have a good evening!

Dianah - I saw the photos you posted!  Loved them.

I sat in the back watching Spidey work until the sun almost set.  I asked him, where did you hide my little "Spidey".  He's a grown man now.

Shower, bed, book.  I work tomorrow.

I hope everyone gets a good night's sleep.  I'm taking a Mr. Ambien with me to place on the bedside table with a small cup of water.  Just in case.
