Good Morning!

Been up since around 4:00 AM (EST) this morning. Tried to go back to sleep. Just tossed and turned. Sleep. . . it's over-rated. . .

I'm all packed up and ready to go for video-recording of today's dance recital. There're clouds up in the sky. Lots of them. Still, the weather forecast calls for only about 10% chance of rain in the area where the dance recital is taking place. The chance of rain is even less as the morning marches on. Hopefully it won't rain. The rain won't be good for the dancers. It sure as heck won't be good for my audio/video equipment.  The owner of the dance studio said, last night, that the program lasts about 2 1/2 hours. (Please don't rain!!!)  I'm ready.  Should be fun for all! 🙂

I'm off from work tonight, so I'll be able to at least transfer all of the video files unto my computer and begin the editing process.

Working Monday and Tuesday nights, then I'm off for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

Well. . . Gotta go. I hope all have a pleasant day, today! Peace! 🙂

Ted

Morning Ted.  Hope you get more sleep tonight

Was a fairly quiet day yesterday.  Went birdwatching in the morning.  Got the cat some canned food, which I'm hoping will help her lose weight.  Did some preparation for cooking today.  Crafted, watched some Three Stooges and Svengoolie

Today have church a, last service with our interim minister.  Also have cooking, some more crafting too.  Will probably ride my bike this afternoon as it should be fairly cool

Still no rain.   Temps have much improved, should be in the 70s and 80s the rest of the week.

Good morning!

Speaking of rain we got some typical summer Florida torrential downpours last night.

Had a nice evening out with my sister and best friend.  We tried a Filipino place that just opened up and I had adobo chicken which I've heard about from coworkers for years but finally got to try.  They had vegan options but I was too curious about the chicken.  It was good.

I was told I had to do some computer based learning by today or I couldn't work tomorrow.  I tried to complete it at home two weeks ago but a lesson froze.  Never had time to do it at work.  Went to work today and the systems down.  I'm sure under those circumstances they will let me work. It was annoying waste of time.

After being waitlisted I notice I got a spot for yoga in today's 11:00 class and will do that.  Otherwise will do some meal prep.

Last night's blast of a birthday party at the neighbors ... they were having a grand time! The noisy thumping of music stopped around midnight, and then they all transferred across the street to the other neighbor's back yard and porch. Not any loud music but lots of laughing and shouting. The back yard next door looks like a hurricane blew through; the water-slide has all the air let out of it, it's a sad heap! Also 2 liter bottles of soda everywhere and just a general jumble of what was originally set up. I'm glad they had a good time and glad I don't have to suffer their probable hangovers today!

I have made my bed, cleared off the floor of my room, and am about to start gutting the heap of stuff in my (small) closet to see if I can make a more tidy storage space.

Hubby left for his dgt's about two hours ago, so he should be there in a little while. Ozzie has spent the morning sleeping on his spot of the sofa, with his 'blankie' (13 years old) over him. I took off his sweater and harness the other day and brushed him for quite a long time, as he is now getting fuzzy with fur. He still doesn't look like a shih-tzu yet, though. Now he has just his harness on; no need for the sweater because I have turned down ( or up?) the A/C so it's not so cold down there in the den. We really don't need a setting of 65 or 66 degrees even if it is hot outside.

Ball game on at 7PM: Braves vs Bo-Sox. Looking forward to it!

Onto and into the closet cleaning! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Safe travels, Ted, and hope you get some good, dry footage of the dance recital!

Joe, I tuned in for the last part of the Three Stooges' episode where there were TRIPLETS!  Hadn't remembered that one!  When I was a kid I LOVED The Three Stooges.  My mom hated it.  Now, as an adult, I see why she did not care for it.  I wouldn't have wanted my kids to watch it growing up.  But the violence just went right past me, I suppose.   Enjoy church and your bike ride.

Tweety, agree about the mandatory learning.  They can't hold you to it if the system has been down BOTH times you tried.  Re: Filipino food, I have only had pansit and lumpia (we call them Filipino burritos!) -- both delicious!  Have never seen a Filipino restaurant in these parts, though.

Could NOT sleep last night.  Finished reading a book, in-between turnings.  Will take it easy today.  When dh and I took the dog for his walk last night, around sunset, it was a nice 83 degrees.  Nights ARE getting cooler, into the low 60's, and days shorter.  Happens every year. 😄 😄

Have a good day!

I was going on all cylinders for a couple of hours, pulling stuff out, hanging stuff up, and I also had to take everything out a small (it is only ~ 13 & 1/2 inches deep) 3-shelved linen closet. Also moving some pieces of a single-size white four poster bed, so I could move around in that front bedroom, where we also have some stuff stored. We have been trying to give away and the white dresser with oval mirror that goes with it.....no fewer than 4 people have enthusiastically expressed an interest in having the set. BUT! Has even ONE of them called or come by ? Not. a. peep. We decided that when hubby comes back we will call the Salvation Army to come pick it up! Then we will finally be able to restore that bedroom to it's 'grandeur', aka Nannie's decorations. But the bed and tall dresser and wide, mirrored  triple-dresser are really GOOD, solid wood! After Nannie's 'gone'-gone, hubby will feel fine about making it over to reflect us and OUR decor preferences.

So, at about 3:30 PM, I suddenly realized, as I read in a magazine article recently,  'my can-do spirit' turned into a 'wish I could' spirit.' I said to myself, 'for God's sake, woman, you aren't 35 any more!

It didn't take too long after that to convince myself to come downstairs and flop on the sofa with my feet up. Of course, as I've said before, I make an awful mess when I'm cleaning up, and have been true to form today! Later on I will have to go back upstairs and face what I've done. Of course, I also HAVE TO watch that ballgame that starts at 7 PM. Guess my rearranging and cleaning and organizing project will continue tomorrow. It will look WAY LOTS better by the time I am through, which might be Tuesday!!!

Hubby just called, said he got there an hour ago and he just wanted to call and let me know that he "and your little car" did just fine on the trip up there. His voice already sounds lighter and relaxed. This trip will do us both a lot of good!

Prayers, good thoughts, positive vibes needed for my mother, please.  She has multiple large PEs and is currently undergoing a thrombectomy.  She was supposed to be discharged from rehab today but developed SOB this morning.  She was on heparin while in the hospital, but the switched her to ASA in rehab.  She's been virtually immobile for 3 weeks, so this isn't a surprise.  I'm scared, but I'm with my sisters and we're strong women, as is my mother.

I hope to give an update with good news later.
