Good Morning!

Had a nice quiet Saturday, mostly catching up on sleep from working 3 12's in a row and staying late Friday.  Managed to make it to the gym.

Not much on the agenda today either.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Tweety

Productive day yesterday.  Managed to dodge the periodic rains and got in a hike and lunch with dad.  Got all of the cooking done.  Made some more progress on cross stitch.  Svengoolie was pretty good for a change.  And I stayed up to watch Mr Spock being attacked by a jello mold 🙂

Today have church and little else on the schedule.  Likely won't be outside until the afternoon, lots of strong thunderstorms headed this way

Gotta get hold of the cat sitter to see if she's free when I'm in Madison next month.  Will be my first vacation at this new job

Good Morning!

Tweety. . . Didn't I just "see" you on Facebook?!? L O L! 😄 Thanks for starting today's "Good Morning" thread. Good to read that you're catching up on much-deserved sleep. Hope today is a relaxing day for you, too.

Hi Joe! You just sent your post moments before I hit my "send" button! L O L! Good to read that you had a productive day, yesterday. Looking forward to seeing photos of your cross-stitching project once completed. (Hopefully we can figure out how to share those photos here on AN!)

Recently woke up. JUST finished drinking First Coffee. Gotta get ready for church soon. I want to get there early, today, to set up an additional lavalier microphone that I'm donating to the church.  I was told that people are having difficulties hearing the Pastor(s). There are already two microphones that are used, one on the alter and one on the lectern. This 3rd lavalier microphone will be used solely for the Pastor (or person presiding over the church service). After church, I'm coming home and rest before going to see the musical that Amy is in. This 2:00 PM show is the last performance of this musical-comedy. Looking forward to seeing Amy perform on stage. She's really talented!

Did additional editing to the dance video. I'm working on the "Camera 2" video files. "Camera 2" was used for close-ups. Gotta say that the "footage" looks really great! It's just that doing the simple color-corrections that needs to be done is very time-consuming. I'm only a hobbyist with this video-recording/video-editing thing. I'm sure that someone who does this stuff for a living is 10 times as fast as I am! L O L! I only do a few dance scenes at a time before I need to give my eyes (and back) a rest.

Tonight, I think I'll take a break from video-editing and focus on composing another instrumental piece. THAT
whole composing/sequencing process also takes a whole lot of time and creative thought. My goal was to do one composition a month. So far, I've done just three this year. These compositions are my Holiday Present to family and friends. I'll burn several dozen CDs to give as gifts.

Well. . . got to get going to start the day!

Cheers! 🙂

Tweety!  Joe!   Ted! GOOD MORNING!

Overcast here so it's not hot yet. I plan to go to the gym later this afternoon. And do laundry first.

Good afternoon to one and all...

I was trying to stay asleep this morning, but my bladder kept me tossing and turning while I tried my best to ignore it. Finally Ozzie came out from under the bed and said, "buf!", so I got up, He was patient while I took care of getting ready to take him out. Then we went outside and he peed a lake-ful, and did his 'bin'ezz'. We went to the end of the driveway to get the Sunday papers, and back, where he took up his spot on the sofa. We had a whole hour of peace and quiet to ourselves; it was wonderful.

Then Nannie got up.

You know, yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in my room, so hubby was saddled with keeping Nannie company and keeping an eye on her more than usual. He was so mentally smothered and exhausted by her that he went to bed about 15 minutes after she did, which was early (8:15 PM). When he mentioned this morning that we needed some stuff from the grocery and pharmacy, I told him that HE needed to go, so he could get away from the house for a while.

She was bad yesterday ... as soon as she was alone in the den (hubby was in the bathroom) she got up and left through the back door, without her walker, and toddled down the driveway to check the mailbox. When he saw her out there he grabbed the walker and rolled it out there to her, which made her very angry, because he supposedly had no business telling her whether she could or couldn't go for a walk in her own yard. The no-walker issue did not penetrate her brain.

She also took another opportunity to go upstairs by herself, another danger she won't acknowledge, except that she KNOWS  to only pull this stuff when she is by herself... I mentioned that we might need door-locks she couldn't reach, or alarms that would sound if she went out a door. Hubby is so tired of the roundabout arguments with her, he is at the point of just letting her do what she wants to do whenever she wants to do it, and let the chips fall where they may.  Of course, we know that turning her loose with her whims isn't the best way of tending to her health and safety. But she has been this way all her life, she's going to get her own way regardless; she is relentless and MEAN when she is told otherwise.

If we manage to arrange an alternate living arrangement for her, it will have to be in a locked "wanderer's ward". Any normal nursing home would kick her out within the first few days of her taking up residence. A few years ago, SiL's mom was made to leave three separate facilities, because she was so difficult to handle. Nannie could match or better that record, I believe!

I am so sick of writing about Nannie and her foibles. Maybe one day soon I will have happy days and fun stuff to write about.
