Morning

Going to be a rainy/stormy day today.  Already I can see dark clouds approaching.  Might have a break in the rain around the middle of the day

Yesterday was fairly busy and productive.  Got the fingerprints done and mailed off.  Stopped at the farmer's market.  Met with the environmental group.  Met dad for lunch.  Did my ususal exercise and meditation.  Even watched Svengoolie as he had House of Wax which is pretty good.  Have always liked Vincent Price's voice

Today have church then a meeting of the rummage sale committee shortly afterwards.  The rest of the day should be fairly free.  Will do the cooking for the week.  Also need to find time for cross stitch which I haven't done the last 2 days

Morning-

I worked yesterday morning, and then we took a ride to a fairly local winery to do some tasting.  The winery and weather were gorgeous.  We explored the area a bit, which is right on the coast, but with lots of farms.  I guess there's a little microclimate in the area which makes things grow well.

We may hit the beach a bit later.  It's on the cool side side now.  It was nice to sleep with the windows wide open instead of having the a/c on.

Joe-I saw part of House of Wax last night, too.  Sounds like yesterday was a good day for you.

NSIME-Oy vey!  I hope Pippy is better today, and I'm sorry you and DH had to deal with Nannie at her worst yesterday. I hope that the hospital staff will help you find some resources to help care for her.

Hope all have a good day.

Good morning Joe and BCgradnurse!

I'll be leaving for a meeting about affordable housing. Soon we will be visiting state lawmaker's offices, writing letters and emails, and calling their offices in support of bills. The young organizer does a good job of keeping the group focused.

Another day, another day.

They didn't keep Nannie at the hospital, they sent her home with still another temporary cast with ace wrap. When the nurse said , "Now, honey, you have to leave that cast on; don't be messing with it. You need to have your wrist bones heal." Nannie smiled sweetly and agreed she would.

Within an hour of getting home, it was unraveled. She then rewrapped sloppily it so her fingers were free. She got hydrocodone (12 caps) for pain q6 hr. Now she is up and down from the recliner, and ricocheting off the doorjambs, still being ugly-tempered and telling weird anecdotes about "last night at the hospital"...wherein "they knew I was going to be there for 18 hours", so the first nurse brought her a black puppy to hold on to, then later the nurse came and took the puppy away and another brought her a little black baby to hold and comfort. She is also, she says, going to go back to the hospital and have surgery on her arm. She isn't. Just back to the Ortho doc, where they will probably just shrug their shoulders because they don't have anything to offer, that she can't take off. If she was in a total body cast, she would probably be out of it in a few hours. And no, no suggestions for ass't from hosp staff. Hubby says the ER here is just a bandaid station, and everything else gets a referral to a specialist, who doesn't have any available appointments until, like, November 2021.

Right now, Nannie is in the bathroom putting on make-up and spraying even MORE hairspray on her hair. It is 2:45 in the afternoon, and she is changing her clothes (by herself). I wonder if she thinks there is there a party going on tonight? She does think there are 4 or 5 other people living here. And she is dubious I am telling the truth by saying Pippy is MY dog.

Pip's bleeding is off and on. They did not extract the tooth at the Emergency Vet Clinic. I have to call the vet first thing in the morning. She bled some more on the sofa cover, so I've got that and three sheets in the wash, and have a towel under where she is resting. Found last night's pain pill (for the dog) on the kitchen floor this AM. I did get her pain med into her and swallowed this morning, and the Chinese powder in a capsule to 'help with the bleeding' (they said). I opened it up and mixed it with baby food, which Pippy scarfed down in a flash.

Weather folks say the next three days will be "excessively hot". Not sure what that means, in terms of temp degrees and those 'feels like' temps.

Well, nothing else...at the moment anyway, so I'll sign off and watch the rest of the Atlanta Braves game.
