Squirrel vs. Cat

There is a squirrel in my back yard who loves to tease my cats. On sunny days, he will sit on the fence or in a tree and bark at the cats. Sometimes he throws half eaten pecans to the ground. Yesterday, he was running across the yard, periodically stopping to dig or flick his tail. He was gathering his winter food. He must have forgotten about the cats.

Suddenly I heard a loud squabble. The squirrel sounded frantic. I looked up from my computer to see my kitty dropping the squirrel from his mouth. From his expression, he didn't think that squirrel would put up such a fight.

Today, the squirrel just came down the tree quietly. He took his pecan and left. Discretion -- the better part of valor.

HAHAHAHA!!!! Kitty's revenge!

My cats are all indoor kitties, so the best they can do when the squirrels tease them is sit in the window and chatter at them. It's funny to watch, but I'm sure it doesn't do their dispositions any good.:chuckle

I had a cat who would tease the dog next door. He'd just sit there ~ 18" from the fence--too far to reach, but just close enough to annoy. I went to the window to figure out why I kept hearing the dog scratching and woofing on his side, Turbo looked up @ me as if to say, "hi, mom, I'm teasing the dog! :D "
