From the link with the graph:

I think this was faulty information.

First a couple definitions:

1. Removals are the compulsory and confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States based on an order of removal. An alien who is removed has administrative or criminal consequences placed on subsequent reentry owing to the fact of the removal.
2 Returns are the confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States not based on an order of removal.

Deportations (removals) were highest so far during President Obama's terms.

The most deported in any year under the Obama administration was more than 326,400. Most had been convicted of a violent crime.

So Far under President trump there were 295,364 deported in 2017 and 226,119 in 2018

I wonder then why we didn't see massive protests and the cries about how evil and "racist" the government is when it came to enforcing the laws already on our books?

Comparing Obama with Trump.

I actually don't wonder about that. I see it as being double standards.

I just noticed a right-wing ad pop-up at this site, railing against BDS, and selling Israel bonds.

I don't visit right-wing sites, and it is a strange ad to pop up on AN.

Has this happened to anyone else?

It happens all the time.  AN has no control over what ads pop up.  We're talking about a lot of right wing and Trump stuff here, so the ad software thinks we're interested in that kind of stuff.  😂   Did they want you to sign a birthday card for Trump??  I almost peed my pants over that one!!!

Not the other way around.

Of course, I'm someone that believes not race but philosophy is the core of this nation. Of course you "guys" are just ignoring my previous posts on that subject.

Looks like Science agrees with me? https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/04/race-genetics-science-africa/

That PESKY Science!

Now back to the..

ENTIRE WORLD is trying to move into our nation.

tsk.tsk.

You are the one who brought up race.

The world population is 7.7 Billion+. Are you saying that EVERY ONE of those is trying to get to the US? That's the way your going with this? As you seem incapable of reading graphs I will explain it to you. The other line on the graph, the orange one that you ignore shows that ALL immigrants are only about 14% of the total population.

Oh, so you really think I wrote that with its "literal sense?"

Let me explain it to you.

Compare your beautiful country's "citizens" giving up their citizenship to become Americans, and the Americans giving up "their citizenship."

No. Thank goodness, I was never asked to sign a birthday for Trump.

I'd rather vomit on myself.

I would LOVE to give up my American citizenship, and move to Canada, New Zealand or Denmark.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to immigrate to any of those places.

So, I stay and fight keyboard warriors.

😝

Off topic.

A word to the wise.  As someone that has posted here about 20 years, I've found that posting in the literal sense...i.e. saying exactly what you mean, and backing it up logically works well and best and doesn't have to follow with a  condescending "let me explain it to you".

As I've admitted, I sometimes use sarcasm and have had that bite me in the butt when people have without seeing me rolls my eyes or hear the sarcasm in my voice take it literally.

It's not that we're simpletons, in fact we're all college educated intelligent people.  But being frank and speaking in the literal sense is best.  I've learned this the hard way myself and am just passing that along.

I can't tell you have how to post, but many of your posts have been ignored by me because I can't make sense of them.

All of the above is an off topic opinion.

You are the one who wrote it with no explanation or nuance. If you don't mean things "literally" then say so. On page 45 of this thread you wrote;

"The ENTIRE WORLD is "still (yes. still)" trying to move into our nation." and "ENTIRE WORLD is trying to move into our nation." in two separate posts.

I pointed out the logical absurdity of your thinking - you know, your SERIOUSLY FLAWED THINKING.

Only 14%?  That’s almost 50 million people.  What other country even comes close?  And that’s with the US placing limits on immigration.

The point is more people are trying to get into the US then anywhere else.  By far!

In 2017, the UK population was 14.4% foreign-born.

If what you are stating is true, that may prove to be a good thing because college educated folks, carrying student loan debt, are apparently leaving the US.

They are escaping student loan debt, and leaving the US for Japan, India and Ukraine.

From CNBC:

These Americans Fled The Country To Escape Their Giant Student Loan Debt

Can you please name another country, that is exporting human capital over student loan debt?

My former farrier's family left the US for Costa Rica.

First, his wife, a nurse, left with one of their college educated sons.

Now, the former farrier is there, with their other son.

I was sad to see him go, because he managed Biggie's club foot, really well.

America has long been the choice of immigration since it's founding, but particularly during it's economic boom times.  Last time I thought about it, taking out the five million natives,  and 40 African American descendants of slaves, there are still about 280 million immigrants.

That people still want to come here is an issue when they don't follow the rules, or they overwhelm the border.  I get that.

But that we get a lot of immigrants and that a lot of people around the world want to come here shouldn't be a surprise or an issue, or even a burden.

Germany  also has become a beacon for immigrants and refugees.  Studies are now showing that their acceptance of so many Syrian refugees has been a good thing.  They are speaking German, working and contributing to the economy and will help with their aging population and population decline.  (Yes, I know someone will post an article or vid of refugees behaving badly in Germany.)
