Good morning!

Stars, good that you got an appointment.  Hope you feel better.

J22, that's so aggravating about your meds.  I don't seem to have any trouble with the one prescription.  My issue is when I want a renewal he tends to ignore the pharmacy's request, but renews it when I call him directly.

The insomnia bug really has me still.  I've been up since around 4AM and I think I'm starting to relax and get sleepy.  I'll just sleep the day away probably.  Oh well, not much to do.  I did schedule a hot yoga class this afternoon.

BP is a better 124/79 which is surprising since I'm a bit sleep deprived.  I have noticed before when I've come back from vacation and haven't exercised and eaten well that my BP creeps up.  Hopefully will stabilize as I get back in my routine.

Watched an interesting Chinese-American movie "Dead Pigs" which apparently was released in China a couple of years ago, and the festival circuit but just got a worldwide release.  It came to my attention because of it's good ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.  Pretty good movie that covers many angles.

Tweety hope the insomnia fades and that the BP stabilizes

NJ22 a week is a long time to get a medications ordered

Stars glad you're seeing the PA and that the symptoms have improved.  Al Anon would probably be a good idea

Yesterday was fairly quite.  Got out in the morning to 2 forest preserves, saw birds but not as many as previously.  Maybe it's the seasson.  Got a lot of walking in

Had time during the day so I took care of a few things.  Got the car emisssions tested and got a new license sticker.  Got the return box for my old work at home equipment, got that packed up and sent off.  Box they sent was too big so I had to buy packing peanuts to fill the empty space

J's allergies have really been acting up since getting home, so we didnt' get together last night.  We'll try for either Sunday or Monday night

Today going to get my driver's license renewed.  Have an appointment which should avoid the long lines.  Hope I have all the required documentation

Might stop at a nearby forest preserve if I have time.  Then I have lunch with my dad as usual

Tonight Svengoolie has the original Dracula.  An interesting early film but slow in places.

Weather should be nice, I think it will be in the upper 70s.  Think  one more warm day after that, then it should be cooler

So, you probably already know this, Joe, but when I took the 16 wk bird-watching course at college... LO these MANY years ago ... it was suggested to us that the best places to see a bigger variety of birds was if we chose a spot that was open (like fields) and bordered by a wooded (foresty-type) area. I chose a hillside spot on the edges of the campus, below which was a small farm with cattle, pigs, and a small saw-mill, and my spot was bordered by woods (uninhabited by people/buildings). We were also told to sit in our chosen spot, quietly, and in about 15-20 minutes the 'wildlife' (ie birds, squirrels and other small critters) would return, giving us more birds to see. I don't know if this info is helpful for you or redundant, but I thought I'd send it along. Part of our assignment, which you DON'T have to do 😊 because you aren't being graded (!) was to draw a picture/map of our chosen spot, showing what was where, and then noting the birds we saw in each of the maps areas. Somewhere down in the shed in our back yard, in all the boxes we've been unable to pack for the past 4-5 years, is my Birding Diary .... unless it is eaten by mice or covered with mildew by now .... Here is where I have to shrug and say "OH WELL!"  But jeesh, I'd really like to be reunited with my "STUFF" soon. If I can't win a sweepstakes or lotto scratch card one of these days soon, I dunno. But I'm too much of a chicken to try to rob a bank, so it may be "lost and gone forever, dreadful sorry," No Stars. (--instead of 'Clementine' -- get it?)

Tweety, I am feeling better, not nearly dizzy-ish as I was, but still feeling like a balloon...my body as well as my head. And I learned DON'T look up, because that's when my balance is found wanting. I discovered this when I took Ozzie out and looked up at the clouds, and later on when I reached up to a top shelf in a kitchen cupboard to get out a plate or  something...and ...Whoooop-sie!!! Did not fall, but staggered a bit for a moment there! Whew. I want blood-work, a UA/C+S, an EEG, an MRI, and a partridge in a pear tree, to have a baseline or to discover WTH is going on inside! Much easier to deal with something if you KNOW what you are dealing with! Will have to wait and see, and just take it easy like I have been doing. Which involves no driving or errand running, so hubby is exclaiming that he realized just how much it is that I do around here, because he is the one doing all the Supply Sargent work for now!

Hmmm, a movie titled "Dead Pigs"? I'll have to look it up on line. Since the cable channels have ALL started having their own PLUS networks (for mo'money) there are a lot of things I'd like to see, but each of those "+" channels ---though the ads say for $4.99, they really mean "starting at $4.99". AND they would have just as many program offerings (tho of a different kind) as cable, channels or programs to NOT watch and still pay for. Too bad ya can't pick and choose your programs and pay according to what you will actually watch. There's so much I'd like to see, but I feel like it could eat up my life looking at the tube.

Baseball game was on late last night, of which I only watched 4 innings, was lost by one run. Tonight's game is on at 8:30 PM, which might mean that Nannie will stay rooted in her recliner for way too long to suit us! UGH. But I hope they don't keep losing by one run the way they have for some of the most frequent games. That'll mean we won't win the East title, but oh well, what will be will be. Once the season is over MAYBE Nannie will start turning in a bit earlier...I hope, I hope, I hope!

Hubby called and placed our supper order, and when he got there, 15-20 minutes later, they hadn't even put the order in to start it! So he has to wait, and so do we. OH WELL. This particular place isn't the one we go to most often, and when he places an order over the phone, it seems like some of the girls don't even know what they have on the menu, as he has to repeat himself three times, and then when he asks them to read the order back to him, 59% of the time they don't have it correct. It's one of the bigger businesses in that little town so they do a lot of business, anyway. I learned never to order any fish or seafood (I know, BCg, but when you're living inland like we do, you don't have much choice if you want any kind of seafood), ...so, as I was saying, I never order their seafood because all the coating they apply to fry it ....falls OFF the minute you get it in your fork, and there is nothing crispy to it. Yech!

I am wondering if, when I post this, will j22 have beat me to the punch again? Maybe not; she may not even be home from work yet, being as she is half the country away from here.

All for now!

Hello all!

We attended Zoom Sabbath School, which was engaging.  Then just returned from meeting friends at El Torito for lunch.  I tried their poblano potato soup, which (without the chorizo) was quite tasty!  And added a salad and I have both as leftovers for a day or two!    It was a nice visit with B & S, with whom we have been friends for YEARS and YEARS!!

It is in the 90's today, not bad temps.  Of course, with Fall just around the corner, I hope to have a lot more days and nights of cooler temps.

Dh is getting set up for his Jamkazam session.  I may join in, just to keep my callouses up!

Have a nice afternoon!

Surprise! It wasn't j22 there, it was dianah. So, hi di!!! Enjoy your callous-building!

Have to tell you Part II of the supper tale: After waiting at the restaurant another 1/2 hour, a guy came out from the back, said, "I've got your supper, Mr. 'Stars', here you go!" And so hubby said Thanks, and left. When he was walking in the door at home, his phone rang, and the girl who took his order told him he hadn't paid for his meal! He was so hungry and distracted by the extra waiting time, he didn't even think of anything but getting home and eating! After we were through, he went back down to pay for our meals, but he wanted to talk to the manager first. He told the manager that he wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble or raise a stink, because we get take-out from there several times a week, but...and he told about the trouble even placing the order, and then how the order hadn't been turned in, causing him to wait an add'l 30 or so minutes, and how he was so hungry, so when the guy gave him his food, he'd just left and came home to eat. Then he got the call from the girl at the desk, so he was back now, ready to pay for it. The manager said "No, you don't have to pay for anything. Just keep coming back!" And she said they'd had some good bit of trouble because a LOT of their staff were new to the job. So three free meals. My Pita-Stuffer was delicious and VERY stuffed, but it was like trying to eat an ice-cream cone where the bottom of the cone was gone ... had to eat it while hanging over the plate to catch the drips.

Poor Nannie, she is so into the news story about that engaged couple who went on a van trip, and then the guy got back home without his fiance', and is not cooperating with the cops and won't say where she is. Well, we are watching one of the many real-crime shows we watch, and Nannie has gotten that other news story mixed up with this murder investigation, and keeps asking questions, "Did they find that girl dead? Was that guy the one they arrested? " and more of the same. Had to turn the TV volume down to explain to her that THIS program is not The News, it is the recounting  of a murder investigation from 11 years ago. "Well, she wasn't gone THAT long, was she?" No, Nannie, these are two different incidents, separated by many years, and from different parts of the country. Then, "Who is that guy? Is that him?" No, it is an ad for another show. Poor thing, she is getting more scrambled; but at least she isn't being hateful and trying to get physically abusive to hubby like she did last year.

Enuf fer naow. --> what? for meow?  Hubby and I have been discussing, again, about getting a Maine Coon Cat after Ozzie is gone. But 'naow' is how some Southerners pronounce the word 'now'.

(Hush up, Stars! Go back to what you were doing.)

Okay, then! Later!

Stars, I'm pretty sure J22 doesn't work weekends.   Glad you're feeling better but yes, you do need to find out what's going on.  That was decent of the people to give you free meals and good on your husband for speaking up.

Wonder what the fascination with that one case is?  I can understand it being a local story here in Florida, but a national obsession?  Weird.   Now the guy is missing/hiding.

Dianah, that soup sounds good.  I love poblano peppers.

Here I am! Not working, Tweety is spot on, I don’t generally work weekends. I am down near the big city looking for a “mother of the groom” dress. Ugh. Most of what is in the stores is close out, all black (too stark) all white ( that’s for the bride) or leopard print ( cue my children to call me a cougar). And very few petites. I did find a gray sweater dress, that will do. The wedding will be outside in two weeks, so it could be sunny and warm, or pouring rain. And it did pour rain last night. Half of our little town has no electricity. Ope, here is dh, time to go.

To you folks having pharmacy problems - are you using the local CVS or Walmart? I get my regular, regular meds from my insurance-approved pharm provider. They fill my scripts for 90 days. U more recetve and med-stable.sually NO problems. I have the option of letting them auto-refill my meds, but I choose to call in for my refills as nec. Now I do this for my regular stuff - Lasix, coreg, lipid med, inhaler etc. I use a local Mom & Pop drug store for the one-times and stat - owner delivers! System works for me! Just a thought ---

stars - please get that dizziness checked out. I'll be trying again to mail another greeting card to YOU with belated birthday wishes for Nan. Hope she's a bit more receptive to my neutral messages.

'Dead Pigs' - the title intrigued me. 'Porcs Morts' and 'Cerdos Muertos'. Neat titles!

Made grilled cheese earlier. Getting some heartburn. Got heartburn yesterday when I had egg salad. I don't think egg salad and me agree...

D'oh! I didn't even know (remember) it was a weekend day.

By a bit of blind luck, I somehow stumbled across something on line that actually let ME, The Computer Dodo, retrieve and restore my g-mail account on Google! WOW!, and I mean a big fat w0000000t!  So, for the past several hours I have been going through the gmail inbox and deleting (Mein Gott!) ONLY about 1,385+ emails which went all the way back to MAY of this year. Whew! It was something to keep me busy during this BLAH baseball game...ie: 7 innings of no runs since San Francisco* got two runs in the first inning. It is 11:30 PM and they still have 2 more innings to go. I'm surprised Ozzie hasn't put his head up and stretched....generally his indicator that it is TIME to go upstairs, go to bed and go to sleep.

* Looking through some of the Mental Floss emails I subscribe to and haven't read...I mean MONTHS-worth of interesting, odd and funny pieces of info....Well, I found out there is, in San Francisco, a Museum of Antique Vibrators. HUH? Okay, then. Also I learned that octopi will 'throw' things at objects/critters that come too close, AND, zombies can NOT subsist on a steady diet of human brains.

Just thought I'd leave you with those tantalizing bits of info.

G'night!
