Good Morning!

It's 7:15 AM (EST) in this part of the world. Recently woke up and just rolled out of bed. The coffee is brewing, which is a wonderful thing.

Hard to believe that October is almost 1/2 over. Time continues to fly by. The fall season in this part of the world, with its color-changed tree leaves, is near-peak. It's beautiful. When I'm look out my 2nd floor studio window (which I did just now), I see a near-by hill filled with yellows, oranges and reds. Again, beautiful! I do love this time of year, specifically when the "fall colors" present themselves.

Because that danged lower back is still a bit stiff, I've been taking things slowly. But at least I'm back to my daily walks. I'm just walking a bit slower than usual. I haven't resumed jogging yet. I'm going to take a couple of more days for that danged lower back to heal before I resume jogging. I've been doing that on-line ACLS recertification thing. Just doing a little here and a little there. With the stiff back, my studio chair is not feeling very comfortable. I might need to look for a studio chair that better supports the back. We'll see.

I'm working tonight. Off Sunday night. Working Monday night. Then, I'm off for the next three nights next week. Hopefully that danged lower back is better-healed by next Thursday. Amy and I have a long but nice hike planned in the Catskill Mountains with two other people.

Well. . . The coffee pot just went "Ding"! That "Ding!" is a beautiful sound. Gonna get me First Coffee.

Hope all have a pleasant day and weekend! 🙂

Ted

Morning Ted

Pretty good day at work yesterday, no meetings.  Made an groomer appointment for the cat next week

Had dinner with J.  Ordered a pommegranate mojito, which was kinda like pink lemonde with alcohol

Today going to pick up some jam at the farmer's market, going to a meeting of the environmental group, then having lunch with dad.  A fairly busy day

Weather much colder than before, day started in the 30s and will only get up to the 50s

Good morning-

It's still cold and rainy, but the skies will clear later today and tomorrow is set to be beautiful.  I'm currently doing my once a month Saturday morning shift.  I've only had 1 patient show up.  I had several cancellations yesterday and a couple of perpetual no-showers.  I have written discharge letters to the no-shows and made their charts inactive.  Enough already.

Ted-I wish your back was improving faster.  I hope it's ok for your Catskills hike.

Joe- I like pomegranate everything.  I hope you have an enjoyable day.

Take care, all.

Good morning!

Got to sleep in today.

Ted hope the back continues to feel better.

Joe, enjoy the busy day.  Glad to hear J's allergies are under control.

Dianah, glad you have a three day weekend to enjoy after some busy work days.

BC, same to you.  After a crazy day good that you're having a light day today.

Did not get any help yesterday but survived.    Nothing much to do today.

An OT brought trick or treat candy already and a patient's family member brought a lot of chocolate.  I ate too much.  I have to look at my compulsion to stress eat and be careful around this time of year which is a dangerous time for me.  Ugh

Have a great day!

Hi, again, folks -

Earlier this morning I received a text from Lil Nel. She wanted me to share to you some sad news. Her 22 year-old Thoroughbred, Nine Ways, broke his leg in a pasture accident. (If I understand her text correctly, she referred to her horse on the Good Morning threads as "Biggie".) She shared that nothing that could be done. Apparently, her beloved horse had to be euthanized.

Of course, I gave Lil Nel my warm condolences. It's always heart-breaking to lose a beloved "fury family member". I also encouraged her to share her sad news here on the Good Morning thread, knowing that this is a supportive group of individuals.

So . . . Lil Nel. . . Warm (((Hugs))) to you! Please know that you are welcomed here anytime for any reason.

Ted

Ted-Thanks for letting us know about Nel.  I just messaged her.  I know her heart must be heavy today.

Thank you for sharing that, Ted!  How devastating and sad for her!  She is such a good Mom to her rescues.  Hugs to Nell, and many condolences.

Morning, that is such sad news about Nel's beloved Big Boy. Condolences to her. I am sure she is hurting.

I had a meh day yesterday. I didn't sleep much the night before (pacer site was burning like fire). I left early to go to the physical therapist and that was painful too. I thought I would take the rest of the day off, but realized I forgot to turn in my time sheet. Yes, we are so archaic that we fill out a paper time sheet and must turn one in every Friday, even though we only get paid every other week. My usual supervisor that I turn it in to is on vacation, and her fill in expects the timesheets by 4:30, on the dot. So I am racing back to the office without a minute to spare, and the traffic was all back up due to an accident. So I rush in, and half hour late, and of course, supervisor is standing there, arms folding, and sweetly says "oh, there you are. " I thought of Nannie, 😂. Then some other people felt the need to talk, and my shoulder is silently screaming, and I am just about in tears.

I came home, ate the last last mini cheesecake, drank a glass of red wine, and crawled into bed. I feel much rested and less pain. I am going to take a short bike ride, and then we are going to Seattle to the Museum of Flight.

Good day all.

PS. I am now craving a pomegranate cocktail . I had a pomegranate margarita  once with jalapeño infused tequila. Yum.

Gosh, I am bereft to hear the news about Big Boy. Poor Nel, what a terrible blow for her. I cried for them when I read about him breaking a leg, and I am not one easily moved to tears. She was so devoted to him.

Nannie woke up in a confused state; she came out on the patio, with her purse, saying that my hubby was going to drive her to school. (On a Saturday?) She was wondering what was taking him so long to get ready, so I ran inside and told him what she was expecting. After he spoke with her, it boiled down to the 'fact' that she hasn't been out or gone anywhere in the longest time. He is going to take her on a ride and then pick up her lunch at Hardee's, as she is crazy for the giant roast-beef sandwiches. I hope once they come back she is in a better frame of mind. Starting  off the day with her 'in another world' doesn't bode well for the rest of the day. Oh well. I got to stay home with the excuse (legitimate) that I am doing laundry today. Whew!!!

I'll prolly drop by later. Hope everyone's weekend goes smoothly.

Prayers for Nel. I have no words, but think we here know how much she loved and cared for Biggie.

It was hot yesterday and cold last night. I can barely smell the fire that is miles from here.

That's tragic news.  That horse was her life.  My sincere condolences.
