Good Morning!

It's a near quiet early-morning in this part of the world. The coffee maker JUST started making the sweet sound of percolating coffee. It's a welcomed sound to an otherwise peaceful early-morning!

Had a LOVELY day, yesterday! Amy and I relaxed together up until mid-morning. At around 10:00 AM, we packed up our hiking stuff and went out to have breakfast together at a lovely restaurant in West Stockbridge, MA. (I forgot the name of the restaurant.) It's kind of a la-ti-da restaurant which sells really good tasting food, and even better tasting coffee!! 😄 Afterwards, we set out for a hike in the Berkshires. We went to a beautiful area of the Berkshires and hiked up a small mountain on the Tyringham Coggle Trail. The summit gave a beautiful view of the surrounding area and its fall foliage. We both took LOTS of pictures, of course. After that, we came home, got cleaned up (hiking these Berkshire trails make for a good work-out!) then went out to enjoy a relaxing dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, the Jackson's Old Chatham House, located in Old Chatham, NY. All in all, we had a lovely 33rd Wedding Anniversary! 🙂

Today? It's supposed to be a cool but sunny day outside. We haven't taken our canoe out, yet, this year! So, we're pretty sure that we're going canoeing on the Otis Reservoir. It's a large reservoir which will take pretty much most of the day to enjoy (and give us an upper body workout!) There are many other bodies of water that we can go to, though. Our choice of where we go canoeing is weather-dependent. Not sure what we're going to do tonight. Most likely, we're going to rest our weary muscles.

Tomorrow is Sunday. There's choir rehearsal then church. I'm working tomorrow night, unfortunately. But, I'm off Monday and Tuesday nights.

I hope all have a pleasant day, today!

Peace! 🙂

Ted

Here are some photos of our hike. The day was picturesque, which I hope these photos captured.

Good Morning!

Ted that sounds like a lovely way to spend the day.

I had a decent day off of solo activity like laundry, gym and cooking.  I'm trying to finish Downton Abbey so I can see the movie, but have a whole season yet to go.  I'm enjoying it while I'm cooking.  Made a nice Afghan kidney bean dish and an Okinawan tofu dish.  Both very simple with simple ingredients.  Ready for the weekend of work.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi Tweety - Seems like you had a nice day off, too. Amy is looking forward to seeing the Downton Abbey movie, too. I believe that she's seen the entire series.

Ted like the pictures

Tweety those recipes sound interesting

Decent day at work yesterday though very busy in the morning

As I predicted, J was feeling too tired for dinner last night.  With the bad allergies the last 3 days and the very busy day yesterday I knew he'd be exhausted.  Spent the evening doing exercise, working on my cross stitch and watching some TV

Today I'm up early, have to spend the morning helping with the rummage sale.  Last night was the first day and I heard it went quite well, although checkout struggled with the crowds at times

After that I'll have lunch with dad as usual, he's back from his Canada trip

Evening should be quiet.  Going to listen to Live From Here, the successor to Prairie Home Companion, which I used to listen to years ago.   Recently started listening again and found they have some good musical acts

Gonna skip Svengoolie, he has Son of Dr. Jekyll, which he's had before and is kinda dull

Slightly warmer day today, with rain in the afternoon

Morning-

It's a chilly 38 degrees here.  It will warm up to about 60, but it's time to get the gloves out for early morning drives to work.  We saw a great concert last night, The Avett Brothers.  They are an indie-folk-rock-country-ish band that I've liked for several years.  They do get some radio play.  It was one of the better shows I've seen this year.

Sleep has been better.  The CBD (sans THC) seems to help a lot and I feel well rested in the AM.  Today will be spent on putting my summer clothes away and getting out the warmer stuff.  It's not my favorite thing to do.  I will likely be sulking while I do it.

Ted-Great photos!  I'm glad you and Amy had a nice day together.  Have fun canoeing!  Don't fall in!

Tweety-Those recipes do sound good.  Hope work goes well this weekend.

Joe-It will be nice for you to see your Dad.  Where did he go in Canada?  Hope you have a nice evening.

Hope all have a good day.

Beautiful pictures Ted. You and Amy look good. And happy!

Hi Joe, Tweety, and BCgradnurse!

Today we will be going to the memorial of a wonderful friend. He fell beside his car last year. After his discharge from the hospital he needed PT and breathing treatments at home. His daughter, an NP in Michigan convinced him to live with her.

He missed his friends so there were many phone calls to the lodge. There is an Eagles Lodge there, but his lifelong friends were here so he only went there once with his daughter. She is here for the memorial several weeks after his funeral in Michigan.

As Grampa used to say, Keeeee-ripes!"

Once again, my post for today went on the tail-end of YESTERDAY's post because I wasn't paying attention. I decided to read yesterday's post before coming to the one for today....and then I FORGOT I was on the Friday thread, and went ahead and posted my usual lengthy tome.

Short-term memory loss. UGH!

He mostly did western Canada, places like Vancouver, Kamloops, and Banff

Ted, you pictures are lovely. I wish my dh would be able walk and take hikes. His knee has been bothering him a lot. His doc doesn't think its arthritis. He did stop his Lipitor, and he started taking my CoQ10, which has helped. But he is in Chicago for a buying show, and he will spend 3-4 days on his feet and will be very sore, I am sure. He went to see Chicago the band last night!  I just got back from a bike ride, about 8 miles. I was a little smarter, in that the beginning was riding into the wind instead of the end. I rode past some corn fields, some cut, some still standing. It is cloudy and threatening rain, but I managed to dodge the wet. The temp is around 60, down to 50 at night.

We saw Downton Abbey last week, and really enjoyed it. The costumes are so beautiful, and the part with the horse-back regiment was impressive. I think dh and I are going to see Human Nature tonight. , it's a documentary about gene engineering. Youngest son and I are going to lunch shortly and do some errands. I still haven't returned dh's pants and I have 2 big bags of clothes to donate.

Hey Joe,I'm not sure how old J is, but has he had a  Prevnar, PCV 13 pneumonia shot? I had one last year, and I have had way few colds and coughs. Just a thought.

Hey Ted, we may be going to a bike fundraiser ride next year in Saratoga. Is that anywhere near you?
