Good morning!

Dianah, glad that it's "just an old age thing".  Ugh...

Joe, that's good of J to stay extra to help out.  Hope you feel better today.

BC, hope you enjoyed the day off. How wonderful to go from Stage 4 and all those problems to being cancer free.  Good to hear the antibodies are still protective.

Stars, hope the gypsies travel on through.

Amo, I hope the scare turns out okay.

It's my weekend to work.  Just two of us scheduled today, no one picking up overtime.

I had an okay day off.  Made some pasta dish that uses cooked and blended peeled zucchini as the base for the "creamy sauce".  It was actually pretty good.  Stopped by the beach in the evening, but it was too cloudy out west to watch the sunset but the beach was nice.

Have a nice day.

Tweety I've never heard of cooked zucchini being used as a sauce base

BC glad your DIL appears to be in remission

Stars hope the computer setup goes well

Amo here's hoping things are OK health wise

Dianah glad it turned out not to be a detached retina

Yesterday was the last day of our online training class.  The last few hours were spent working on a simulated case.  Was kinda frustrating at points but I think I got everything figured out and got it done a bit before I expected too.  I'll find out Monday how I did, and will start with the preceptor then

Texted with J, he's planning to return by Wednesday

Was relieved to hear that negotiations were completed and that our new minister will be arriving in November.  Was a weight off my shoulders and will be a relief to the congregation, after 2 years of fill in and interim ministers.  He and his wife will be renting a home until the congregation decides what to do with the minister's residence

Today will be going to the arboretum after I get my coffee, then will meet dad for lunch as usual.  Will also probably make the lemon pound cake.  If I have time I'll stop at Joann for the stuff for the craft project

Will be cooler today, in the upper 70s, with rain later in the day and tomorrow too I think

Joe, re: "He and his wife will be renting a home until the congregation decides what to do with the minister's residence."  What are the choices?  I assume it is not available now?

Tweety, hope work is smooth and not too busy!

The ministers residence is currently available

However, the congregation is deciding between selling it and buying a newer home nearby, or tearing it down and building a new one

Since our new minister is moving from out of state, it was decided that it would be unfair to ask him to move into the residence, then move out again in a year or less once the decision is made

Gouda Mawnin' y'all! ('cept it is afternoon....) I am coming to you via my brand new ASUS laptop~ 😀 It is thinner,  a bit wider, and feels a lot cleaner ( ie minus X # of years of fingerprints). I'm lovin' it! I've got a new password which the computer does not dispute. The other was giving me grief about which of 2 passwords was acceptable and even then it was irregular about giving me access. Nice not to have to wrassle and hassle about it.

Tweety, The gypsies have taken their party elsewhere for now, but left a tedious ache in my lower back. I have switched to a TheraCare wrap for that. I had looked at a tube of Voltaren the other day and YOW, it was pricey! // Hope you and your scheduled co-worker are not carrying the whole caseload of the floor today. T'would be nice if the powers that be floated some help TO you instead of FROM you! // Thinking of you carrying ALL that work by yourself reminds me of the guy on the old Ed Sullivan Show, who kept 12 to 15 plates spinning, each on separate skinny poles...running back and forth to keep each plate spinning and NOT falling. YIKES!

Joe, sounds like a nice day you have planned, You may send me some of that Lemon Pound cake, even C.O.D! Remember the character Wimpy in the Popeye cartoon, who used to say, "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today." ? Hahahaha! I used to make what was called LemonTea Cake. It was like a pound cake in which I made holes in the top, and drizzled in confectioner's sugar mixed with real lemon juice. It's making my saliva flow just thinking about it.

We lost to the Mets last night, 4-3. Another game tonight, and one tomorrow afternoon. Pretty soon we are going to have to be weaning Nannie off baseball games, as the season winds down. ( 😟 Up the Seroquel, Mabel!!! 🤪 )

Hi dianah, BCg, j22, amoLu, and all ships at sea!

I'm sure I will drop by later on....

Uh, amoLu, look for an Amazon delivery Oct 14th -29th (or so!) I think it is a 12 pack I ordered for you. Shoulda ordered the 3 bottles (16 oz?) but I didn't; anyway, since there was "no gift option" I have put you down as shipping address. I wasn't sure where to have it delivered to so I clicked on 'mailroom' and under delivery instructions I said something about knocking on your door to let you know it's arrived, and either leave it outside your door or slide it just inside? I wasn't quite sure how to arrange it, and don't know if you have an apartment # or what! *Fingers Crossed* that you get it!!!!

Let me know, ok?

Just in case you need it, either to contact them with correct delivery info or whatever, I have a confirmation order # and you can call me for it...

Afternoon, all-

Another beautiful day here in the Northeast.  DH and I had breakfast with some of my co-workers, and then looked at an apartment DD is interested in renting.  I Facetimed her so she could see it as we walked around.  It's very nice, and in a great neighborhood.  She got her application in right away and I hope she gets it.

Yesterday my sisters and I went to Salem, MA for lunch.  It's right near where I grew up.  The Halloween festivities have already started.  Traffic was crazy, but we managed to find a quiet place right on the water and had a nice lunch.  We didn't have time for a beach walk as K had to get home.  L and her DH have done a lot of work on the house, and it will be nice when all is said and done.

Tweety-I hope today goes well, and you miraculously get a float to help.

Joe-That's great that the minister accepted the offer.  I hope his housing situation has no hiccups.  Lemon pound cake sounds delicious!

NSIME-I'm glad you're enjoying your new laptop.  Is there any way you can record baseball games for Nannie to watch after the season is over?

Dianah-Hope you're having a good weekend and you get to make some music.

AmoLu-How nice for NSIME to send you a surprise!  I guess it's not a surprise if you know what it is, but the delivery day will be a surprise.

Hope all are well.

Hiya again~

Nope, no recorded baseball games for Nannie; she gets confused enough as it is! Throughout the games she gets teams confused, players confused ... except for Freddie Freeman, about whom she ALWAYS says "Is he the old one that's been there a long time?" He's all of something like 28 to the other players who are in their early 20's; but there ARE other players older than Freddie. Anyway, good idea but wouldn't be a good outcome, with her confused and us crazy-tired of answering or explaining, answers which she would remember nothing about a short time later.

When I think of Salem, Mass. I think of Juicey Brucie Bradley on WBZ radio, and anything he'd announce about Salem's next town over,  Peabody, he would always say it like "P-b'dee, P-b'dee, P-b'dee!"  (~ Maybe ya hadda be familiar with him for it to be funny.)

Once again, the hubby person has gone out to pick up our suppers-to-go, so I will sign off temporarily for now....

No, you don't owe me NUTHIN', amoLu! Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas! No kidding!

When I moved to Tenn from Mass, my fav potato chips, WISE brand, were not available in Nashville. My BF from nsg sch. mentioned this to her dad, who had 6 LARGE bags shipped to me through his business. Since he didn't want to get grief about it, because she and I graduated from a Catholic Hospital's nsg program, he mailed it to "SISTER No Stars", telling his coworkers that I was a NUN! They were somehow quite taken with shipping potato chips to a Nun! What a riot!

That's funny!    My sister's BFF girlfriend relocated to Tenn or Ky. They didn't carry TASTYKAKES!!!!! Anybody from around Philly knows Tastykakes! Butterscotch krimpets or peanut butter tandytakes!!! My sister used to mail her periodic care packages. Those were the classics. And still the BEST!

My other sister mailed her KY BFF pork roll. Another area classic.

Halloween is coming up - can I safely mail a card to Nan directly?  Y'a think?

Nah, if she knows it is sent to her, she'll go though the whole thing again. This is the very reason that, when I signed my name to her birthday card, under my signature, I noted in parentheses ---[the woman who always sits over there in the corner of the sofa] Yes! Really! To keep her from, when she is re-reading them, having to ask every time, "Who is Stars?"  She wasn't insulted, though, it made her smile.

So, anyway, if you wanna, you could send me a cawd and address a comment or three to her within the general text, y'know.

----------------------------------------------------

As an aside, my SiL has been saying for 30+ years:. "D'you know what I mean? I mean, does that make sense?"...every time I've heard her say it, it made me want to shout, "NO! I do not know what you mean! No clue! You don't make a damn bit of sense! Shut-Up!" ...........But, no, actually I never get mean, I just say "uh-huh."  Thank goodness we don't see a lot of her these days, because, as a blunt , but very nice Yankee, I might feel compelled to tell her it is entirely possible to train yourself to NOT add those words to every sentence in every and all conversational occasions.  Maybe not easy, but yes, quite possible.

Nah. Not worth mentioning it to her. Maybe her gravestone could say, "I think I'm dead, you know what I mean? I mean, does that make sense?" 🤣😂🤣

I know....I'm bad. But giggling about things that annoy me is one of my coping mechanisms.
