Stars glad your DH's symptoms have  eased

Tweety that's good that  you'll be off a good long time

Dianah hope you feel better

Got my new Chromebook and so far it's a big improvement over the old tablet.  The only issue I had was setting up email, after an hour or so of frustration I figured out I needed a different email app instead of Gmail.  Was worried I had screwed up my Gmail account and made an appointment with Geek Squad, but  thankfully all is resolved

Went out early for birdwatching (very cold), stopped at the arboretum and got some ornaments and a decorative plate in their gift shop.  Got my Covid booster , feeling fine apart from arm soreness.  Met dad for lunch, and J for dinner, although we just had soup (I had a mai tai)

Today more birdwatching, after getting my coffee (coffeshop is celebrating 4 years and giving away free cookies), then will probably relax most of the day.  My nephew has his play tonight, so J and I will drive to Indiana

Was very cold yesterday morning, in the 20s,  but should be up to 50 today.  Rain should  hold off, at least until the evening.

Good morning!

Dianah, feel better.  It does seem that colds are making a comeback this year.

Joe, hope you have a relaxing day.

Stayed up late and slept in after feeding the dogs earlier.   Weather is supposed to be in the comfortable upper 70's.  I might stop by a vegan street festival today to see what it's about and offer support and go to yoga later this afternoon.  I need to start finalizing my Thanksgiving menu.

Covid continues to be well here thanks to vaccinations and so many people getting covid in the summer.  The governor signed laws banning companies from requiring the vaccine.  Not sure how this will fare with Biden's mandates.  My employer and most around here don't require the vaccine.  It's going to be hard to get public support for mandates while rates are so low.

A-Yuh, well, as usual, expecting hubby's daughter to do something expected is kind of a useless proposition. It is quarter to three and we have yet to hear from her. Is she coming over or has she called it off? Courtesy call, please? No? OH WELL! I always used to 'joke' that if she said, "See you shortly..." it could be four hours to a week later that we'd actually see her. "Shortly" ain't got nothing to do with it. You don't 'take it with a grain of salt' when she says something like that, you need to go buy a whole effin' SALT-BLOCK like cows have in their pastures. But, personally I feel rather relieved to not have them 'dropping by,' (it's a 2 & 1/2 hour drive, at the very least) especially this late in the day.

We got our Thanksgiving menu all set, thanks to neighbors. This guy is going to smoke 2 large turkeys and 2 "Boston Butts"  ---Of course, up in the Boston area, I can't say that I have ever seen a piece of meat labeled Boston Butt. I believe it is referred to as a 'Picnic Ham'. --- Anyway, they will also have a variety of plenty of fixin's, and we have been invited to come a fill plates for hubby, me, and Nannie. So there ya go! Free Holiday meals with no muss, no fuss, and not having to 'socialize' 😋 --- who could ask for anything more?

I am doing two more loads of laundry this afternoon. Seems like I just did 3 loads a few days ago. But you know that saying, "you can dress 'em up, but you can't take 'em out' ?  I manage to splotch or spill or stain my jersey's, tees, blouses, vests, hoodies, so I have to keep a good amount of stain treatment products around. I swear, I am not embarrassing to share a meal with, it's just that my bosom invites drops and drips to land on it, kind of magnetically, only different. I believe that which is actually issuing the invitation is commonly called GRAVITY!😯

All the talk around here amongst the men-folk is about deer-hunting. Jabber-jabber-jabber. I mean, really: YAWN! I hate it for the deer. For the guys it's like bragging-rights, same as in fishing contests; height, weight, age, # of antler points and their width. (....Though I never have seen any fish with actual antlers...) I don't much care for deer meat, since the only time I ever ate it was just immediately prior to coming down with that ....what's it called? Noro-virus? Anyway, it did no favors taste-wise coming back up than it did going down, so it kind of put me off even the THOUGHT of eating deer meat, 4 evah!!!!!

The MiL of the woman next door gave hubby an earful....guess why? Because he told them next door he'd had the COVID vaccine and a flu shot at the same time....the MiL told him he had just been injected with "a tracking device" and the flu shot was what made him sick because it GAVE him the flu! [Right here I have mentally put 1,000,000,000 eye-rolling emoji's]. Anyway, even though he half believes that crap, he did say to her what I have said to him, "They can track me all they want; As far as I know, I don't have anything to hide, and I know I have very little influence over anybody or anything, I'm 72 years old and I don't go anywhere or do anything interesting. Trying to track me, they'd die from boredom!" Anyway, to all that I say, "PISH-TOSH!", it's a moot point, and water-under-the-bridge. 📡"Beam me up, Scotty!"✴️

Hubby has decided we're getting KFC tonight. He just left, so it is my job to get Nannie's tray ready, set the table, and when he comes back in (HONEY! I'M HOOOOOME!") I tell Nannie to take her pills......that's my job!

But, first, a quick switcheroo from washer to dryer and also from dryer to folder (that would be me.)

Hope y'all are having a tolerable weekend. Rest and feel better!

Hi. Weather is overcast and cool, which beats warm and wet. There are clean-up parties going on around the county--people discarding ruined furniture and appliances, ripping out carpet, sheetrock and insulation. Apparently many vehicles were trashed. The outer communities have many low income residents because the housing is cheaper, and I don't think many of them have much in the way of resources. I already made a donation to the family of the fellow who was swept away. And we will contribute to a community fund for housing and repair.

Dh and I purchased a new dishwasher yesterday, Merry Christmas to us! I think it cost as much as our last refrigerator! It will be a few weeks before it can be installed. We stopped at the pharmacy that does walk in flu and covid shots, but they were short staffed and weren't doing them yesterday.

Dh has been washing dishes by hand, because my cut thumb really hurts, even with a glove. Tonight I am driving down to the big city. Dd has a free hotel room after attending a school board conference. She invited me to come down and we'll go shopping tomorrow. I doubt I will purchase much, but I like to window shop.

Stars, good to read that your hubby's aching didn't last. It cracks me up when people talking about tracking devices, when they carry their phone everywhere. I drew up vaccines for a clinic one day, and I never figure out if the tracking device was already in the syringe or in the vaccine. And how did it fit through that itty bitty needle, lol.

Dianah, I hope you are resting and recovering. Isn't it weird to have a cold? I can't remember the last time I had one, and that is fine with me!

Joe, setting up new computers, like phones, can be a PITA. I can imagine having a good keyboard will make your work go smoother. Ooh, a play, how fun! I thought a spotted an unusual bird on the feeder, but with the binoculars it seems to be a starling who was pigging out and not letting the juncos and chickadees eat too. And I saw a towhee!

I hope everyone is dry and warm!

November 20 - would have been my folks' 73rd anniversary. Married 11/2/48. Queen Eliz & Prince Phillip were married one year earlier. /// Had bloodwork yesterday. The tech was GOOD!!! Just the teeniest bruise, which was good b/c last month's tech went for my right antecube and I bruised elbow down 2/3 to my wrist. I worry now being on anticoagulation. I'm not at ease taking med.

stars - must be contagious as I plopped a HUGE blob of BBQ sauce from my sandwich on my Tee from dinner. Laundry on Monday. /// Need to refill my mediset. It's starting to get stuffed with everything I take. But I hate that task. ///

There was a pantry drive in my neighborhood. Put their yellow bag out last nite and they picked it up this morn.

I've got to get a mediset with larger pill sections...hubby gets messed up with the mediset, because his finger is too big to work a pill at a time out of it's space, and tipping the mediset to empty that day/time's section invites potential disaster. We are always finding the odd pill or capsule on the floors ... kitchen, hall, den, where-ever. Plus, the sections are divided by ONE long piece of plastic, which, if dislodged, opens ALL the sections for that time of day, a stoopit design flaw. Let the buyer beware! So, anyway, it's an annoyance.

I am watching one of my favorite movies, 'TWISTER.' I can't tell how many times I've seen it. It's one of those movies, like 'Last of the Mohicans' or 'Dances with Wolves', that almost any time they are playing when I am TV watching on my own, I turn to that channel and watch it again. I used to be that way with 'Jeremiah Johnson', but as pretty as Robert Redford was, I have to say I'd rather read the book the movie was based on ... in fact, I have read that book multiple times. NOT the paperback based on the movie, but the original book 'Mountain Man' by Vardis Fisher. It is well-written, much better than the movie, BUT, I don't know if that version is out of print or not.

PS--- Re: pills on floor,  no animal is endangered by medications lost thusly, as Ozzie is absolutely UN-CURIOUS about anything on the floor or ground ... unless it's the strange fascination he has with the faint scent of his own old pee, in which case, all I can say is, whaddya expect? He's a DAWG!
