Dianah we haven't tried any new ones lately, we typically go to our usual place, though on occasion we go to a different one

NJ22 that good that you have a cardio who listens, and that your kids will get tested

No new work for me yesterday, so it was slow at times, though buisier in the afternoon as I had to consult with the adjuster on a more complicated case.  I really think I have gotten the hang of this job

Afterwards met J at our usual place, first time there on a Friday in nearly a month.  Was nice, had a margarita instead of my usual wine, was a nice change

Today is fairly ordinary, birdwatching in the morning, meeting dad for lunch, will do some more crock pot cooking and probably some more baking as well, want to see if I can make the corn bread come out better this time

Svengoolie has the Munsters movie which I'm going to skip.  Will do a little crafting instead.

Will be a bit warmer today, up into the upper 50s

Good morning-

It's frosty out there, but should warm up to about 50 with lots of sun.  We have a busy day planned.  We're going to see a re-make of Macbeth.  It's set from the point of view of Lady Macbeth, and features a gospel choir.  Should be interesting.  Then we'll go to my sister's house to pick up a crate for the puppy, and then we'll meet DS and his GF for dinner.

Joe-Enjoy lunch and I hope the baking is successful.

J22-I'm glad you got your test results back, and I hope your kids will get tested.  Fingers crossed they didn't get the gene.

Hi Dianah, Amo, Stars, and anyone else who pops in.  Have a great day!

BC, Macbeth sounds interesting!  Looking forward to your review of it!  Enjoy dinner!  (love to see puppy!!)

Joe, good your job transition has gone so well, that you are feeling like you have the hang of things!  And, good to hear you and J had a nice dinner together.  Does he share your interest in birdwatching?

Up earlier than usual for a Saturday, as dh is getting pet-related chores done and then we will leave for Carlsbad-By-the-Sea, and the bluegrass festival.  I have already seen several photos and a couple short videos taken there, which means folks are already planted in their rooms, and the jamming has commenced!  Should be a fun day!

Have a good day!

Hi. No frost here, just drip, drip, drip. It was a little cool this morning, I had my gloves and hoodie on for the beginning of my run, but took them off after the first mile. I have a favorite podcast I like to listen to on Saturday mornings when I run called SistersInLaw, that features 4 lawyers discussing the weeks events. I have learned so much in the few months I've been listening.

We had a successful vaccine clinic last night. In 3 hours we vaccinated 105 kids ages 5-11. And of course, there were protesters outside. Thankfully the local police was present. I felt bad for the families waiting in line. Afterwards dh and I met at a Mexican restaurant. I splurged and had a margarita and a lovely vegetarian burrito.

Joe, do you have a good cornbread recipe? I use the one on the box, but it often comes out dry. The mix just seems so expensive. Dh thinks its should be baked in a cast iron frypan, but again, I think it's too dry. So good to read your new job seems to be a good fit.

Dianah, I am sure you will have an enjoyable time at your get-together.

BCg, that Macbeth performance sounds intriguing. Yes, do give us a review.

Hi Stars, and Amo!

Good grief and Oohhhhhh Brother! I am one mixed up person! I have been 'one-day-off' for several days now...

I changed ALL the clocks last night before I went to bed, but guess what! It isn't until tonight they get turned back. Then hubby and I had to decide which way the clocks should go....he put batteries and everything and then set the clocks AHEAD 2 hours, then we consulted on our phones which will change the time automatically, and reset the clocks ahead only one hour......which would mean they are correct now. ( I think.) And then, TONIGHT we will set them back an hour before we go to bed.

I still have the dizzies. The doctor's office sent in a prescription to our usual pharmacy for the Meclizine, which was for, um, 90 tablets. Also, when hubby was at a different drugstore, the pharmacist showed him that the OTC dramamine is actually meclizine, and he bought three small OTC boxes (6 per box) So, now I have plenty of Meclizine, for sure! I reckon I will try the Epley maneuver(s) again. Then, if they seem to work well as they did the last time, I won't need any Meclizine again for a while. But, by golly, I am loaded with 'em anyway!

Nannie still asks several times a day if there is a baseball game tonight, poor thing. Then we have to explain that, while it is good we won the World Series, it means there are no more ball games until spring training commences.

Ozzie is still sleeping most of the day, but he still enjoys eating, so I guess we will wait a little longer before making an appt to have him put to sleep. He is one awful mess, really needs grooming, but we are going to get by with just cleaning gookies from the corners of his eyes, and trim around his eyes and clear the fur around his butt for 'rapid egress' 🙃 should the need arise.

I haven't heard anything back from herring or her family. I'm wondering if, since she said she had had several small strokes that led to her vision problem, she may have had a bigger stroke. I don't know. I also don't know where she lives in regards to the weather and/or fire events that are plaguing California. Worrisome. I may send something to her family at the address I have, and see if I can get any response from them. // You know, my hubby still asks about the guy who lived in Australia and was the EMT for his (large) area. I think he went to live with his...?sister? .... and was looking at more than a few health problems what with diabetes and a lower extremity amputation. I think he must have passed away, it has been so long since he posted anything.

Nannie is dozing, or fighting dozing. Her eyes droop and a few minutes later she'll say, "That sandwich was GOOOD!". Then it's up and down to the bathroom, and when she gets back to her chair, it is "rinse and repeat". Doze, trying not to doze, really dozing, and then ""I tell you what, I REALLY liked that sandwich!" (It was from Subway, as usual.)

Hubby just got back from buying deer-corn. Since we have a LOT of acorns dropping all up and down the yard, the deer are visiting more often, so he wants to supplement their diet. He likes to sit up in his bedroom window and watch them come in to eat. I guess now that baseball season is over, he has to have something to watch!!!

Geeezo, it is cold and breezy outside! The change from the unusually warmer weather to THIS more seasonal weather has been a little too abrupt for me! I have to dig out some of my warmer layers. And, when the SS checks come in, I am going to buy some shoes (I hope I can find some Clark's clogs.) Hubby is urging me to go to get my eyes examined so I can get new glasses. He said, "I see you over there, squinting at the crossword puzzles and repeatedly bringing the page in closer to double-check."

I have put back on five of the pounds I lost. I haven't been using the vibrating platform as much because I can't tell if it helps my knee or not. I sure don't want to make it worse! But sometimes it is better the day after I vibrate, so I can't tell decisively if it is good for the knee or not! Life is so complicated (YUH! No kidding!) AND, I have started doing like my mom used to do ....getting up around 4 or 5 AM and making half a cup of coffee, and having a snack with it. Eating in the middle of the night is probably what I have to thank for the extra pounds. *SIGH*

I have to go searching on Youtube for a piece of the Sonny and Cher Show from the 60's....they had Raymond Burr on (Perry Mason) and apparently they had an hysterical time of it, having to do one scene over and over. I read about it in the Parade magazine that comes with the Sunday paper, and it said to search for the UNedited clip. "It was the most fun we had on the show..." So, now I am curious.

Oh gosh, Nannie just said, "I'll have to go out to the store because I am out of toilet paper." I have two full packages of 'her' TP squirreled away, so I will have to go upstairs and get some. And she wants to know, too, what she can use to clean out the toilet bowl. I guess I know what I will be doing in the next few minutes. She ALSO told me that my hubby looked SO GOOD in his new gray suit this morning, Yes, she argued, it was a coat with matching pants. He does have a gray suit he wore to our wedding 31 years ago, but he sure didn't have it on this morning, because it won't fit!

Jello to j22, who once again sneaked in her post as I was typing up mine........

My cardiologist called me earlier. (Yeah - he called me on a Saturday!) He's been in contact with my gyn/onc re my need for anticoag and my risk - stroke versus uterine bleeding. I'm going to go with anticoag - God be willing my insurance is coop!

Am more aggressively trying to lose wt re new dx for atrial fib. That and my low Hgb leaves me fatigued. They were having a blood donor drive at my DR agency appt Tuesday. I have low Hgb so I truly appreciate the donors for their 'gifts'.  Made a life-differing change for me 2 yrs ago when I hemorrhaged.

stars - thinking about MIL and end of baseball. Can she switch to Atl Falcons or Carolina Panthers? Lots of Carolina collegiate basketball poss. /// Might you squirrel away some of her incont pads - only avail for emerg use? I know you said you had to do a quick run the other day.

This evening they televised a parade and a ceremony in Atlanta for the Braves organization. I don't recall any other teams ever having a parade for winning the World Series, but Atlanta is SERIOUS about its team. Anyway, it was kind of fun. (though there were no marching bands or baton-twirlers or clowns or horses, or elephants.😊) At the ceremony, they gave a brief history of the team and then reviewed all the changes in the team due to many various player's' injuries, all of which we were convinced would be going to totally sink the team, but then added four new outfielders who oddly fit right in and wonderfully bolstered the team tremendously. It was a nail-biter, with all the highs and lows of this past year. Then the awards (like MVP); plus there  were a lot of interviews, and little 'bio' clips, reminiscing, speeches, teasing and joking. Like I said, it was really fun for me. But then...

Nannie periodically asked, "When are they going to start the game? Nope, no game, Nannie. Sorry!

....aaaannnnd then the field crew were cleaning up and getting set up as they were getting ready for a free concert at the stadium, by Ludicris, whom I have heard of but can't recall any of his songs/music... and then there was some other rap guy who was going to join him, but I can't think of who, because I don't remember the guy's name. So, we switched channel to a true crime show, and thankfully Nannie decided she was ready to go to bed. I tell you what, all the constant cheering in the stadium was getting wearing to me, also, and I was happy to come up to the peace and quiet of my room.

No big plans for tomorrow, except to figure out which clicks to reset. This daylight savings time has GOT to GO! It messes everyone up!

Good night for now!

Sorry, but Philly takes the top ranking for most exuberant fan parades.

They know how to party-hardy!
