Morning

Ended up being a late night for me.  J wasn't feeling well so we delayed dinner a half hour or so until he felt better.  Went to a new restaurant, found the wait was more than an hour.  Changed plans again and went to one of our usual places.  That was pretty much my whole night

J is getting a third dog, a 2 month old miniature schnauzer/poodle mix.  It's supposed to arrive in about 2 weeks.  All 3 dogs are fairly small...this one will be about 10lb fully grown, the other 2 are about 5lb...which will help.  Hopefully getting the new dog trained won't prove too much effort

Have talked to our local chapter of PFLAG and will be helping them out with their monthly meeting next month

Planning to get out for a walk this morning, attend a meeting of the environmental group, then have lunch with dad.  The church has game night tonight, but will probably be too busy to attend

Weather will be in the 40s this weekend, record cold expected on Monday

Good morning.

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Congrats on J getting a new dog.

Stars, you sound so angry.  That's a normal response taking care of a dementia patient that you never really liked in the first place.  I'm sorry.

Herring, how nice of you to sit with your neighbors wife.  Sounded like a challenge.

I suppose every place has some workplace drama.  We have a new case manager, that is very good, but is a real gossip. I found myself talking about a coworker with him and realized it and backed off.  I really don't want to be his sounding board for gossip and will have to somehow not let myself be drug into that.

Off for four days.  Slept in after staying up late watching a TV show called the "Missing Menu".  It's in Mandarin and set in Malaysia and focuses on a single mother and her grown children and food.  At the end it shows her younger self cooking the recipes in the show.  It's okay.

I've turned off the air conditioner and opened the windows for the first time since spring.  It's not even going to hit 80 today.

Morning-

It's chilly here, too, with temps in the 30s, but nowhere near as cold as in Joe's neighborhood.  I'm working this morning, but I'm done seeing patients. I'm just waiting for them to finish up with allergy shots.

I saw a good movie last night on Netflix.  It was called The Laundromat and starred Meryl Streep, Antonio Banderas, and Gary Oldman, among other well known actors.  It's based on a true story about an insurance fraud.  It was pretty good, and had some dark comedic moments.  I also heard an interview this morning on NPR with the director of a film called Burning Cane, which is also on Netflix.  The director came across as experienced, wise, and worldly.  Turns out he's only 19, and started making this film when he was 17!!  I was very impressed.  I'll have to watch it.

Joe-Stay warm.  Congrats to J on his new dog.

Tweety-Glad you're enjoying some milder weather.  Enjoy your 4 days off.

Stars-I can't imagine how stressful life is for you right now.  I know what my parents went through with my grandmother, and the toll it took on them.  Please do whatever you can to take care of yourself.

Hello to Herring, Ted, Dianah, J22, Amo, and everyone else who stops by.  Enjoy your Saturday.

Our neighbor and I have been friends for 50 years. She no longer knows who I am. I'm glad she still knows her husband. Their adult granddaughter used to visit a lot. She still does, but now stays only a short time. He has info from the Alzheimers Association in English and Spanish.

I slept from before ten pm to 7:30 am. Feel good.

Nannie is in the recliner and Ozzie is on the sofa; each are  covered in their separate lap-robe blankets, snoozing. It is, for the moment, "Q"......ssshhhhhh!

I am midway between 4 loads of laundry, reading "The WEEK" magazine and doing crossword puzzles in between load-changing.

Hubby's out somewhere at a shooting range.

It's sunny outside, with a cold breeze.

Hope everyone's weekend is progressing smoothly.

I found a couple of on-line sites with dementia jokes and Alzheimer's jokes. I'm not laughing, but I am nodding in appreciation for the truth and absurdities.
