Good Morning!

Recently woke up. The first thing I did (well, besides empty the "old man" bladder) was look outside the window. What do I see??? SNOW!! What month are we in?!? January? February? Geeze!!

It's supposed to warm up into the 40s, later today. Hopefully by that time the snow will have disappeared. We're concerned about Amy's gardens, though. Hopefully the colder temperature and snow won't hurt the mid-spring plants that are beginning to grow.

Spent a good portion of the day, yesterday, recuperating from three fairly busy nights at work. We actually had TWO patients in our teeny-tiny 3-bed ICU. They were stable, of course. (Why have really sick patients in our ICU?!?! L O L!) Still, they required a fair amount of attention due to their chronic conditions. I also spent the entire afternoon recording and mixing-down music for this Sunday's on-line church service.  Church services are still being shown via ZOOM while everyone follows that "stay-at-home" directives. I'm alternating the recording of hymns with another church-music director for these on-line services. This was my week-end to record the hymns. Amy and I had a nice time doing this, actually. Amy sings the melody, which is recorded into my computer's DAW. Then, I record/sequence, and mix-down, the accompaniment tracks to her singing.

Today?? I honestly don't know what I (we) will be doing. I would like to start composing a new original composition. Unfortunately, I do not feel "inspirited". There are no "interesting" music ideas reverberating through my head. There are compositional "tools" and "techniques" that help get around such a state of these moments. But these "tools" and "techniques" require work. I just don't feel like working that hard.  L O L!

The other day, I said "Yes" to being a Shift Director tomorrow for the 7AM to 7PM shift. The full-time Shift Director has significant family issues that require his attention, sadly enough. I'm happy to be of support. But I HATE working the day shift. Gosh, I hope I remember to get up early enough to make it to work on time. (Ugh!)

Nothing much else going on. . .

Hope all are doing well. Peace, folks! 🙂

Morning Ted

Meeting turned out to be nothing, just a more formal version of the informal meetings we had been having.  No issues, apparently I'm one of the high performers at work

After work went to the Mexican restaurant for tuna tacos.  They were a little dry last time hopefully sitting overnight doesn't make them drier.  Stopped at the bakery and got an eclair for today and a muffin for tomorrow.  Did a bit more crafting and went for a walk

Today going out for coffee then a hike before things get crowded.  Also planning on doing more crafting and some exercise.  Svengoolie has the Munsters movie which I'm going to skip.  Although they do have a bunch of the better Stooges shorts on just before that

Had a freeze warning last night, still pretty cold, although should be in the 50s before today is over. Will gradually warm over the next week into the 70s

Good morning.

Ted working an opposite shift is indeed hard. I actually don't do it.  I have one coworker that will switch like that but she's 20 years younger.  Enjoy the day.

Joe, good to hear you're one of the top performers, but not surprised.

BC, best of luck to the boyfriend.

Didn't have anything to say yesterday so I didn't post.  Work was garden variety with a couple of admissions and some discharges.  I had to tell a coworker to not interrupt me in the middle of me talking to her.  It's rude and shows a lack of attention.  I felt bad afterward which is the old me.  I'm 60 years old and still feel bad at being expressive.  She later apologized and understood.  Plus I gave in and ate some sweets which probably put me in a bad mood.  But it was nurses week.

Nothing going on today.  Going for a walk this morning and going to catch a sunset at the beach.  You guys can keep your cold weather up there please.

Morning-

Windy, cold, and snowy here.  As one of my friends said this AM, "We have Covid, murder hornets, and May snow.  What's next-unleashing the flying monkeys?" I slept well last night for the first time in about 5 days.  I had energy, so I did a bunch of cleaning, and now I can relax and read for the rest of the day if I want.  DD and her BF are going to stop by later.  I haven't seen her since February.  She and her BF have been very good about social distancing and staying at home, so they will come in for a bit.  Still, the 6 foot distance will apply. We're going to do a big Zoom meeting for Mother's Day tomorrow with my siblings, a cousin, and all our kids.

I caved on my no take-out rule last night and ordered from a Greek restaurant we love.  We ordered on line, and you have to wait in your car until they text you it's ready.  All of the staff had on masks and gloves, so I felt pretty safe getting food from there.  The spinach pie and baklava tasted like heaven.

Ted-I hated switching shifts.  I hope it goes well and things get better for the Full Time shift director.  Are you having fun with your green room?

Joe-I'm not surprised your a top performer.  Do you have to physically go into the office for these meetings or can you do it remotely?

Tweety-Enjoy the sunset tonight.  You were right to speak up to the nurse who kept interrupting you.  It is rude and unprofessional.

Hope all are enjoying their Saturday.

BCgradnurse - Glad that you had a good night's sleep. A good night's sleep is a wonderful (and rare) thing. Nice to read that you'll be visited by your DD & her BF. Enjoy the visit. With regards to the "Green Room", we haven't done anything in it since it was finished, and we recorded our first video there. Amy has ideas and plans, though. Hope to do our next video-recording next week!

Tweety - Hope you share some "obligatory beach photos"! Just try to keep the horizon level. OK?!? L O L! (Just kidding.) You always look happy with the selfie-beach-photos. That's always nice to see. Enjoy your day off!

Joe - It is not surprising to read that you are considered a high-performing employee! I hope that it was reassuring for you, though! Enjoy your day off from work!

Amy and I just got back from our 2-mile power-walk. It's weird seeing snow on the trees and ground during the middle of May. Much of the snow has melted away, thankfully. It was nice walking in the sunshine. Amy's gardens seem to have survived the cold, snowy night, though. Although, her one lone tulip looked a little sickly.

Cheers! 🙂

Thankfully these are done remotely

I plan to order from Pancho's and then walk to pick up the food. I usually buy two with a relleno. an enchilada, rice and beans. One dinner is enough for we two, and I freeze two meals for another day. I'll get to see which stores chose to open for curbside pick up.

Hi. Sunny, with a cold wind. Read you all, but not feeling particularly sociable. Nannie is as usual, aggravating to the nth degree. The only thing that has made me smile today is when SiL brought over a Mother's Day gift for Nannie...not about the gift, but hearing that SiL loony mother had to move in w/ them. 😂-😂-😂 🤣 They didn't want to take care of Nannie, but now they have SiL's mom living with them, who is much worse. Paybacks from the Universe !

I've actually deleted photos because of your criticism of my or best friend's picture taking ability.

I hereby no longer give you that power.  Criticize away.  😂

Wow, SNOW???  Dh mentioned some polar vortex affecting the East coast...  Twenty years or so ago, we had snow in So Cal in JUNE!!  It was early June, but still, I recall walking in snow at the foothills of the local mountains.  It hasn't happened since, though.

No Stars, hang in there w/Nannie!  Hope she goes quietly to bed EARLY tonight.

herring, that Mexican food sounds delicious!  We always do the same: order enough for at least one more meal.  Good you get your walking in!

Joe, I (as others have also noted) am not surprised that you are considered a highly productive employee.  You are very conscientious, as revealed in your work habits.

Dh and I tuned into Sabbath School (at The Big Church) via Zoom, then I watched 'our' church service over the internet.  It was the pastor's birthday too, and folks had prepared a group of greetings for her, it was nice.

It's 89 degrees out.

Have a good day!

I do feel bad about you right-coasters' cold weather, but it's unseasonably warm here, mid-70s with a light breeze. I went for a short run this morning, and then stopped to get batteries for dh's glucometer at the drugstore, and stopped at a nursery to pick up 2 more plants for hanging baskets. I ran into the the nursery as soon as it opened, with my mask on, got my purchase and scooted out. The parking lot was already full when I got to my car. I get a little nervous when there are so many people around. I plan to spend the day planting and weeding. And perhaps sipping a cool, adult beverage in the evening outside on the deck.

Joe, that must have been validating to get that positive feedback. I am glad your meetings are remote.

Ted, yes changing shifts is hard. Having a good walk today should help you sleep, I should think. Around here, late snow can often break the branches in leafed out trees and cause power outages. I trust your lights are still on.

Oh herring, chile rellenos sound heavenly. I have also been craving chicken mole, but neither of our 2 local Mexican places make it to my taste.

BC, that will be nice to see your kids. I sort of was toying with the idea of a Zoom meeting with my family tomorrow , but I am going to ride along with dh to deliver PPE to his stores, so I may not be home until late.

Stars, you know what they say about karma, its a b****.

I see you down there, Dianah. Hullo to Amo and tmb, and Rose_Queen, if ya'll stop by.

TWEETY! I hope you're kidding about deleting photos!! Please know that I'm only kidding about the slanted horizons.

I enjoy seeing you on the beach, in the warmer weather, when the sun is out, and the people look happy and relaxed, while it's snowing and the temperature is 32 degrees outside where I live.  L O L! 😜🤣
