Happy Saturday to all!  I'm working my once a month 3 hour Saturday shift.  I can't wait to get out of here, and get home and outside.  It's sunny and in the 70s.  I met my friends in the city last night.  We had a great dinner at an Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston, which is a traditionally Italian neighborhood.  All the restaurants had their fronts rolled up so we were eating al fresco.  The improv show was a hoot, and then we went to a locally famous Italian bakery for dessert.  I fell off the wagon and had a cannoli that was about as big as my head.  I will be eating salad for the next few days as penance.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning BC

Busier day at work yesterday, actually got to call people yesterday and even got a chance to do a care plan.  Now that I've done it once it should be easier next time and more complete.

J was nearly an hour late to dinner last night which was somewhat irritating as I had bowling last night.  Thankfully I was able to make it there in time despite the delay

Woke up early, went back to bed, had a strange dream about having some sort of cancer, it was odd because the dream felt very familiar but I'm pretty sure I've never had one like that before.  Weird

Not meeting dad for lunch today as J and I are going to a birthday party for his sister this afternoon

Cooking and laundry already done, so I might decide to get outside today as no rain expected

Oh, you had a good time, BC.

Glad you are having great weather.

It rained off and on all day and night yesterday.

Rocketman is fantastic. I recommend it.

It is easy to forget just how successful Elton John was/is.

The movie felt like biopic meets La La Land to me, and my friend and I really enjoyed it.

Richard Madden is breathtakingly beautiful, as John's lover and manager.

Madden is Scottish, and wonderful.

My downstairs neighbor's cat, ran into my apartment last night, and wanted to stay. Wally didn't care about him being there, but I don't think he realized Wally was there.

I had to put him out.

Made me sad.

My friend is having all kinds of trouble with her Bipolar daughter, who is off her medication, and in a manic phase.

She is 30, and was supposed to leave last Thursday, to drive to upstate NY for an internship.

She hasnt left yet, and doesn't know if she will go.

The daughter has a German Shepard, who peed on my friend's recliner.

My friend is beside herself.

My Italian friend is causing all kinds of drama at work.

He apparently reported one nurse to the NM for being rude to him. He has reported our NM to HR for harassment, and is transferring departments.

I doubt he will last another two months.

It is good he is transferring departments because other nurses kept coming to me, to complain about "your friend..."

Everybody needs to chill out, listen to some Elton John music and gaze at Richard Madden!

Have a wonderful and safe trip, Dianah!!!!!!!

Happy Saturday!

This morning I made stepson reservations for his trip to Chicago next month. He won't use email and has a smart phone he doesn't use except to talk and text. So I'm going to a burger place where he has a weekly AA meeting to give him his paperwork with confirmation number and he will give me the money. He is going to stay with his daughter.

Yesterday I scrubbed the kitchen including the oven. Nice clean kitchen now.

Good morning.

I moved some heavy objects and am feeling an ache in my back.  🤨

I'll take 800 mg of ibuprofen and just take it easy with lifting things.  I have some gardening I have to get done today.

Danny (Spidey) and his friend Jose are working hard on tearing down the original home that was on this property.  It was built in the 1880's and past redemption.  They are doing a good job.

BC - sounds like a lovely evening and I don't blame you for falling off the wagon.  So far, I've managed to stay on the wagon for a month.  The funny thing is I don't have carb-cravings when I do the low protein diet.  But, having Italian food and cannoli placed in front of me would push me right off this wagon.

The weather should be nice and maybe hit 70's.  Perfect weather for working outside.

You all have a great day.

Good afternoon.

Off this weekend and for four days total.   Enjoyed a nice jog/walk this morning and will go to the gym later to lift.  Otherwise going to lay low.

Nel, I'm a big fan of Richard Madden.  I enjoyed his stint in the British series "Bodyguard" and "Medici: Masters of Florence" that was shown on Netflix.

I had never seen his acting work, Tweety.

And for those who think I am exaggerating his beauty, I am not.

He is stunning.

Work just texted me, to ask if I could work tonight. Wish I was joking, but I am not.

I texted them back, stating I am on vacation this weekend (they already know this).

Went to the local farmers market and bought local raspberries, spinach, lettuce mix and my beloved organic, free range eggs. And sugar snap peas!

I have already eaten a pint of raspberries.

Windy and humid.

The rain and storms are supposed to return tonight.

We have flash flood warnings.

Time to go for a walk!

So, last night our so-called "severe" thunderstorm consisted of one roll of thunder, one flash of lightening, and two separate 15-minute frog-drowning downpours.

Our weather reports are pretty much the same for the next three days, being: "rain and thunderstorms". We'll see.

Right now it is sunny and dry, so hubby is mowing the lawn. It's a good way to get away from Nannie and please her at the same time.

I am up in my room, not because I have a headache today, but because I don't want to get another one from Our Lady Of The Recliner. Nor do I want to aggravate her with my strong urge to talk TO HER in the same high, squeaky baby-talk voice as she uses on the dogs; she asks them the same questions repeatedly and makes the same remarks to them, and incorrectly  'interprets' their behaviors and activities or lack thereof. After a while it grates on the nerves. I mean, dogs naturally sniff at things, but it doesn't mean they are about to pee. Dogs look out the glass doors, but not necessarily FOR any reason! And OLD dogs sleep a lot.

There's another baseball game today at 4 PM, so I guess that'll be when I go down to the den.

Hi,

We never got the predicted rain or thunder either. But it is only 60 degrees, so I guess this is our Junuary. Just talked to eldest ds about funeral details for cousin's dtr. It is next week on a day I am scheduled to work, on the other side of the state, so I don't think I'll go. I will send a donation to a foundation that helps with medical costs.

I have a bit of sewing to do for dh: I am going to shorten some work shirts for his employees who got long sleeves instead of short.

The one time I tried cannoli, I think it wasn't made well. My preferred Italian dessert is tiramisu.

Steph, do take care of your back! Are Spidey and Jose able to salvage anything from the old house? I had an acquaintance who incorporated lots of things into her home from a tear down. I wish I was creative that way.

That is a weird dream, Joe. I had one the other night about being ill, and everyone was upset except me. Have fun at your party.

Herring, that was nice of you to book your stepson's reservations. I miss the days of travel agents. My oldest sister was one and she was really good at finding economical but nice hotels.

I often wonder what dogs think about. Angus will stand at the door, I open it, and he looks at me like "what did you do that for?" I will get his food ready and he will be dancing around. Then I set it down and he walks away. When I use the bathroom he jumps in my closet and barks til I come out. What a weirdo.

I am working on dh about going to a movie. Fingers crossed, or I will go alone.

Oh yeah, we are doing some salvage of the old wood.  Mostly for selling but my own kids wants some of it which we'll give them for free.

Someone estimated we could get $1000 for each of the 12 "trusses".  Hey, that would take care of my student loan and get our mortgage down.

I went out to get my mother-in-law and brought her in to see the progress.  I've told the boys not to cut down the trees and bushes.  There is a lovely rose that my mother-in-law said originally came from the first home her family built here overlooking the river.  It is long gone now but that rose is here and she took a cutting years ago and she and my sis-in-law have the same rose bush.  Love the continuity of life.

I then took her for the "pretty drive" through part of the area we live in.  She said her kids called it the "pretty drive" when they were young.  It is pretty. I stopped at a roadside stand and bought some fresh eggs.

Ok - I had 3 weiners with mustard, sauerkraut, sugar-free sweet relish.  It was yummy.

Headed outside to plant those flowers.  My back is vaguely aching.

I added a photo below of the house.  Let me know if it shows up.
