Morning

Was busy last night running around getting things for the church reception next Saturday. Originally went to get the wine but I figured I would do the rest of it as I already had a good idea of what I'd bring. The only thing I think I forgot is the cheese

Going out this morning to ride my bike, going to give the Illinois Prairie Path a try, it hasn't rained in a few days so it should be dry. Haven't ridden the Path this year, so this should be interesting.

Going to see dad after that. Church will be tricky, there's a book fair in the area so my usual parking will be unavailable. Have to get there early too as I'm assisting minister. Will have to try and find some place to park that's not too far...

Svengoolie has "Curucu: Beast of the Amazon" tonight, haven't seen that one before so I'll watch and see how it is

Happy Saturday Morning, Joe!

I haven't been up long.

I had planned to work today per request made to me on Thursday. CSR was supposed to call me back Thurs. and didn't. So I called Friday AM to confirm, but Friday's CSR didn't know anything about it and said she'd call me back.....which she didn't. So by 4 PM yesterday when I hadn't heard anything AGAIN, I called the office and said WTH? Was told that someone else was scheduled in for that shift. Fine then, I didn't REALLY want to work today, but jeez, y'all, if someone says they'll call me back, doncha think they should really call me back? If I had just not showed up and the shift wasn't covered, I'd be "in trouble".....but if I had just shown up at 6:50 AM to cover the shift because no one told me to do otherwise, the office would have had to pay me for 4 hours and eat the pay themselves.

Oh, well, so anyway, I get to enjoy today OFF! Yaaaay!

I also wanted to find out what my YTD earnings are; went to the employee portal and after clicking on a 'wrong' selection, was locked in to my goof and discovered there was no way to return to amend it. Great web-site design! HA! Now I have to call corporate on Monday and see if they will help me get in to the correct page. The one I was on said they had "0" record of me on line, or even having any income from them! After thirty years with this company, it comes as quite a shock. But, it's always something! :speechless:  :sarcastic:

Okie-dokey, then! Heading to the shower....See y'all later on!

Happy Saturday everyone...

Joe, a Prairie Path ride sounds great today. Sunny and cool today. I've run some of it, about 10 years ago, but never ridden it.

Have you heard about the 606 opening this week? Only about 4 miles long, but should be well used by runners and commuters wanting to avoid city traffic.

The interview went well. They said to allow two hours, but I was there over 3 hours!! I take that as a good sign.

i was the first one interviewed, so it might be awhile before they decide.

After the interview, took a drive, ran some errands, stopped at Costco. Later took a walk with son, came home had Margaritas out of my Blackhawks cup. :D

GAME 2 tonight!

The phones keep ringing.

Sssshhhhh........I am not here.

Today I am not the "go-to" for w/e coverage, especially not for the night shift tonight!

I am allowed to take care of myself

I am allowed to take care of myself

I am allowed to take care of myself.

Happy Saturday!

Joe: I hope you find a parking place easily. Enjoy your bike ride.

Stars: Take care of yourself. Enjoy your day off.

Mr. Chicago: Glad the interview went well I hoe you get what you want.

I was so tired yesterday. I volunteered at a free clinic and one "patient" had to be asked to leave repeatedly. He'd seen the doctor twice this week already. He wanted money for food so I gave him an apple and string cheese.

Then he really got mad and was told to leave.

He was told we would call for an ambulance if he was sick or a ride to a shelter for a free meal. He became more angry. He yelled from the sidewalk that he is crazy and needs to be locked up. A woman waiting her turn told him to pull down his pants and have a BM on the sidewalk. When he refused she said, "If you really are crazy you will do it."

Beautiful weather here, few clouds dribbled a couple of times, but moved on. Sunny, breezy, mellow day.

Had my yard weed whacked yesterday, but the whacker broke (again, my new one after last year's broken one). Not sure if its me (I wind the cord myself, may have used too heavy a one) or the fellow from church who does this for me. His brother put up a new plywood piece on the side of my roughly made shed where the sun has rotted out a section. He also scraped a lot of the old peeling paint.

So I bought a new whacker, finished the front myself, and today primed the shed for repainting. Took a piece of the plywood that was trimmed off from the shed piece, cut it two and made a new top for my work table. The old top had rotted out (sun and weather take a real toll on wood outdoors at this altitude), being made of only particle board. Measured and drilled, cut two pieces to match so to be thick enough, new bolts, sanded it all down, and primed that too. Been meaning to do that for a couple of years!

I love sleeping in, reading a book till I feel like getting up, and still getting stuff done in the afternoon.

Weekend off here so all sports today. From the Triple Crown to hockey. About time we had another Triple Crown winner! I'm old enough to have watched the last three which just boggles my kids minds. Yes kids, I was watching TV in the '70's!

Wow, you've all had interesting days.

I stayed home (on call) while Spidey and Dad went to Oregon for Spidey's double-header baseball games.

Mowed the lawn (we need a weedwacker!!!). Did a "big clean" in the living room which meant, taking down curtains and washing them, washing windows, removing spider webs from ceiling and corners, cleaning hardwood floors, cleaning wood furniture, repairing curtains after they came out of the dryer (needle and thread), cleaning bathtub, cleaning shower curtain, etc.

I'm sweaty, exhausted, and ready for a shower. Spidey's home and they lost 1 game; won 1 game. He's very sunburned. Dad forgot to put on sunscreen.

We need to buy a weedwacker . . . . . but want a good strong one so are researching first.

herring - be careful!

If you don't have a huge area, I really like my Black and Decker 14 inch edger, trimmer. Costs about $50 at HomeDepot, and has a 2 year warranty. Too bad I didn't last year's receipt! But it does a good job, isn't too heavy, and the cost isn't bad.
