Good morning!

What is now Hurricane Elsa is predicted to make a direct hit on Wednesday around 2AM so I guess I should think about it.  But a lot can happen between now and then.

I don't remember the movie, but wasn't there a TV show "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir"? too.  I almost got a book that was written last year called "The Ghost and Charlie Muir" that won an award for "Best Gay Romance" about a guy that inherits a haunted house next door to a gorgeous guy he falls in love with.  LOL

Off the next four days.  Need to head to work for a minute to pick up something I left.  Will probably go back to bed.

Have a great day.

Tweety hope the hurricane misses you.  Looks like it may weaken to a tropical storm by the time it reaches Florida

Hi Dianah

Stars watching the stars on a cool night sounds great.  Too much light pollution around here to see much

BC glad that you now have the marriage license

Amo I think The Ghost and Mr Chicken was intended as kind of a parody of The Ghost and Mrs Muir

Work yesterday was good.  The next week will not be good, lots of calls to make, but at least it's only 4 days

After work did my usual exercise and embroidery, with a quick trip to Trader Joes

Anxiety has been better, have been making a greater effort to stay mindful.

Have been reading the journal I started just before the pandemic, has been interesting, I had a much stronger spiritual inclination then, and better control of my anxiety.  I think in the last few months I've let a lot of that slip

Interesting how this vacation has caused me to rethink a lot of things, and made me aware of things I had been ignoring.  Perhaps being away for several days has gotten me away from old routines, allowing me to see them anew

Today will do the usual, get coffee and do some birdwatching.   Will also stop at the farmer's market.   And watch Stooges and Svengoolie in the evening.  I think Svengoolie has She Wolf of London.  Might try watching on the app if the TV signal is poor again

Will be hot today, up to 90, and for the next few days as well, although no rain expected

I mean to say congrats to BC on the marriage license.  You deserve some happy times.  I know your mom's birthday is difficult.

Joe, I almost always get anxiety after vacation especially if it's in combo with jet lag.  Glad you're feeling better and taking time to reflect.

Good Afternoon -

Tweety - I hope that the hurricane passes you by! But if it looks like it won't, then please find safety soon enough to allow you to escape it!

Joe - Vacations have a way to allow that time to reflect on life.  I hope that you relax, and enjoy the time off from work, too!

BCgradnurse - Congratulations! 🙂 🎊

Having a nice afternoon visiting with family. Just ate a whole lot of delicious food. Feeling quite full! (Oof!)

Tomorrow is my scheduled Holiday to work. Scheduling wise, I'm off the next four nights. However, I picked up Tuesday and Wednesday night to work as Mr. Shift Director. Tuesday morning, at 8:30 AM, is my scheduled phone interview for the "full-time" position as Shift Director. I have some soul-searching to do if I'm actually offered the job. First, I get paid for 32 hours per week, verses the 36 hours per week that I now "enjoy" as a "full-time" ICU Staff Nurse. Although the hourly rate is a bit higher, it's still less $$$$ that I'll be making on a weekly basis. Also, Amy and I have two very important vacations planned. One is our trip to Italy which is already booked and paid for. This vacation is scheduled for the end of September into October. (I already have that time off as an ICU Nurse.) The second is the weekend of December 10th. My niece (my sister's middle daughter) is getting married. I will insist on getting these two vacation times off if offered the Shift Director position. If those vacation times are not guaranteed off??? Again, I have some soul-searching to do. I don't mind being an ICU Staff Nurse, and continuing on as Shift Director on a Per Diem basis.

Well. . . gotta let the puppy outside! I hear her stirring downstairs. Hope all have a pleasant weekend! 🙂

Tweety, I hope Elsa weakens considerably by the time it gets to your location, and/or veers off in a different direction. // I wish I, too, could be "off for four days". This 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a- week, 365-days-of-the-year "shift" is wearisome, even when Nannie is being easy. She is just ALWAYS here! I had a cat one time who used to insert herself and wiggle right down in between future-hubby and I when we were sitting on the couch. The cat was cute. Nannie is not.  But we are planning a four-hour outing one of these days, but probably not until after the soc-sec checks arrive, mid-month.

Hubby just came down to the den and told us we had several choices for supper: "KFC, KFC, or KFC." Reckon we're eating chicken tonight.

We are at the our last half of the ninth inning, one on first base,  one out, and the score is 7-3 in THEIR (not our) favor. Nannie is all 'doom-and-gloom'. She (and hubby) are so often convinced the worst-case-scenario will occur. Negative Naysayers do not make for good companions when watching a GAME. (Que' sera sera, y'knowit? Jeesh!)

Did not say "I told you so.." But I DID say, "Oh ye of little faith!"

Braves won in the 10th inning, 8-7. HO-HO! Not to mention:

W00-00-00Ty-woo-woo!
