Good Morning!

Joe, glad to hear that work was better. Hope J is doing better and you got together.

J22, I'm sure you'll catch that tale and be helpful and get the answers you need. Hope you enjoyed the Italian food.

Wow Dianah, didn't realize you were so close to retirement. How exciting. I can imagine it can be confusing. Good you have some resources to help.

Stars, hope the storm isn't too bad and that you keep power.

I had a decent day off. Went to pick up the dog's eye drops but stopped off at a vegan deli for a sandwich. Cooks the usual beans and quinoa and lunches and some pasta. Tried this new chickpea pasta that lower carb eaters and keto people are eating.  Meh......

Hi Tweety

Stars hope the snowfall proves light

NJ22 glad he seems to be healing

Dianah that's cool, did not know you were that close to retirement

Amo I'm hoping the doctor switches him to something less irritating

As I expected, he's was still under the weather yesterday so we didn't get together.   We'll try for Sunday

Work was better, still a little crazy but better than the last 2 days.  Things will improve as workloads are going to be determined by the actual work you're doing vs the number of cases you have.  And the MA license process is progressing so hopefully I'll have that license soon.

Today planning to do some baking this morning, since bird watching is over until the spring.  Will meet dad for lunch as usual.  Will do a little more baking in the afternoon.  Svengoolie has Earth vs the Flying Saucers, which is OK, might watch

Will get up to 30 today, some snow expected later

So, we got 2 inches of fluffy snow that covered everything and has mostly all melted now, helped by the hearty sunshine. The temp could be better--- it is only 35 degrees. I just got back from the store and there were only 2 areas where the road was packed ice....they were in the spots of perpetual-shade from a big thickets of trees. Before I left, hubby just had to tell me all the icey spots he'd encountered....but they were all in the opposite end of town from the place where I was going! I said, " ?  Yeth deer....Thank you, but remember I am from New England."  ?

I am still feeling kind of duddy, but not quite as bad as the other day. I think it is the COLD that is bothering me, because it makes it hard on a feller to sit outside, even with two hoodie-jackets over a fleece vest over a long-sleeved T over a turtle-neck jersey......Kind of makes me nostalgic for the 'snow-suits' of my old days of childhood, which did keep me warm.

Hubby just said he is going out to pick up supper (3:30 PM) "before the roads get slick and icey. I don't want to be out after it starts freezing." The town didn't plow after this storm and though they salted the roads,  the run-off from the melting may eventually freeze. He never fussed about me driving in the snow when we lived up in the mountains and I had to get up early, warm up the car, and put it in "Crawl", and drive many miles (12-30) depending on where I was working. "Must staff" means MUST staff, so I'd hold my breath and pray all the way to work. So, NOW he's worried about me driving? No, I have to tell you, I really think he's more worried about the car!!!! But that's okay, and that is why I frequently refer to it as HIS car!

Hello Tweety, Joe, dianah, j22, BCg, amoLu and all the rest of you guys~

Stay safe, warm, and dry!

Hello!

No Stars, I hear ya about your dh and your driving in inclement weather.  I would trust your driving, as you have history of driving in New England!

Joe, what do you plan to bake?

Tweety, I would love to find a low-carb pasta that TASTES GOOD!   Spaghetti squash, to me, is Meh.  I like zoodles.  Will keep looking.

I was reading in bed last night and got some heartburn so I took a couple Tums.  Well, that turned into an all-night stomachache that has continued today.  Punctuated by 3 episodes of mouth-watering (that happens just before upchucking, though I haven't done that yet.  It comes on for about a minute then fades).  And the stomach ache waxes and wanes.  It is more tolerable when I'm sitting up/worse when lying down.

Dh doesn't have it, and we ate the same food yesterday.   I did a home Covid test, which was negative.  Stomach area is tender, I don't want to touch it.  *sigh*  I hope this goes away SOON.  I don't usually get GI issues, usually have an iron stomach.  This is not pleasant.

Good we didn't have many plans for the weekend!

It is windy again today, and 65 degrees.  Doesn't matter, though, I am inside!

Have a good day!

We already to purchase a travel trailer but the dealership was super busy so we made an appointment to come back tomorrow. We are having family game night with our kids and the grands and eldest do’s home tonight. Dd is making lasagna.
Dianah, i do hope your tummy woes resolve soon. That is an icky feeling.

Tweety, I’ve seen a chick pea pasta in the store but was afraid to try it. I have tried a “high protein” spaghetti that’s not too bad.

Earth versus the Flying Saucers, eh? Those sorts of movies used to scare the bejeebers out of me as a child. There is an old movie from the 50s called Invaders From Mars that was terrifying to me.

it cracks me up when people tell me how to drive in the snow. We lived in Idaho where there was snow on the ground for 6 months of the year. And I used to ski. I suppose they mean well.

Hi Amo and BCGrad.

Where I grew up, it was especially FUN to go out in the car and slip, brake, skid, and slide around in the snow; it really helped when I was old enough to drive because I had already found out what kind of winter moves helped and what didn't help. I didn't get a driver's license until I moved away from Cambridge/Boston where I only used public transportation. Once I got it, I was one drivin' fool!
