Hi Herring

Stars glad your knee is better

NJ22 we don't really have sections, though the notes people are assigned are all adjacent to each other, otherwise it would get complicated, having someone with both high and low notes

Ted 20 years is certainly a long time

Hi Amo

Dianah glad the cat is better

Another fairly good and not too busy day at work yesterday.   After work did laundry and exercise and watched some of the Andy Griffith Show

And another good night of sleep, seem to be on a roll

Today it is fairly cold and snowing again, glad I'm not going birdwatching today

Will go out and get coffee, then later head to the mattress store.  Hopefully won't take too long to find one that I like and that isn't too expensive.  Will also bake today as well

Tonight have the usual exercise and embroidery.  Will watch Three Stooges but will skip Svengoolie as he's presenting The Invsibile Man, which I don't care for.  Which is odd as I like the director's other movies, like Frankenstein

Going to get quite cold tonight,  hoping we can get out of this frigid weather pattern soon

Good morning!

Joe, glad you're on a roll of getting good sleep.  Have a great weekend.

Herring, hope you made it to the beach.

Stars, hope the knee heals on the prednisone pack.  I'm hoping that if my finger keeps hurting my doc will give me one and try that before having to go to a hand specialist.  It really helped my neck pain a few years ago.

J22, I talk the vet into giving me four bottles of Slowbro's eye drops at a time so I don't have to go so often.  I have to take him there every three months for a checkup anyway.

Ted, hope that you have a good day given the low patient census currently there.  Switching shifts like that can't be easy.  I posted on the yellow side that I think I too have been here close to 20 years now.  I can't quite remember but this was one of the first sites I visited regularly when I first got internet.

Dianah, glad to read the cat is doing better.  Kudos to your husband for being so attentive.

Off today.  It's been raining pretty hard this morning.  That usually means a cold front but it seems we're going to stay in the 70's for the rest of this week.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from snowy Seattle. It was just starting to snow as we arrived last night around 5, and we awoke to 8 inches of fluffiness. This city pretty much shuts down for snow, due to lots of hills and minimal snow removal equipment so we may not do much. We are only a few blocks away from Chihuly Garden and Glass, so if they open, we may walk over there today. We brought books and are prepared to just veg out and watch the snow from our hotel room. There is a Safeway a block away in case restaurants are closed.

Dianah, that is good news that your kitty is better. My sister volunteers at the Humane Society and has 3 cats of her own, one of which must be close to 15 years old.

Joe, thank you for the information about bell ringing. I see videos of kids playing marimbas in different ranges, so I wondered if bells worked that way.

Ted, 20 years is a long time, indeed. From my account info, it looks like I joined in December of 2002. Going home early is a special treat.

Good day, folks.

Continuing cold and rainy, probably will stay like this for another 4-5 days. Yech!

The prednisone is working well on my knee, but it is also disturbing my sleep. Last night I turned out my light at 1:15 am, then woke up at 2:15 am, 3:15 am, 4:15 am, 5 am, and finally got to sleep around 6:30 am. Fortunately I slept well between 6:30 am and noon,  and the only 'work' I have to do is go to the grocery store after a while.

Now that you mention it, Ted, I signed on here in 2011. That's TEN years! Then, I think I skipped out for a year or more, and then came back as a regular, but not so much on the yellow side. The blue side is my home on AN. And I feel the same way, y'all are my friends!

So, Tweety, this AM I read that "Florida is a veritable petri dish for COVID and its variants."  YIKES! People who have had their shots are very wary of those who seem to not acknowledge the dangers of COVID, and still stay home, and double-mask if they have to go out.

I have started double-masking. Hubby says he refuses to get the vaccines because he doesn't trust the government (!). I want to get the vaccines, simply because I am living with an oldie-moldy and a 'co-morbidite' (hubby). I could still carry it in to them, and I really wish hubby would let go of the idea of the gov't putting tracking chips into the vaccine. I told our doc about hubby's disinclination, and he said that the way he looks at it, the gov't isn't going to spend all the money it would cost to 'track us', because essentially none of us are important enough in the scheme of things; ordinary folks like us don't present a problem in the long run, as long as we don't get into super-spreading activities, and it's the non-vaccinees who foolishly do that.

Hey, I made up two words! "Co-morbidite" and "non-vaccinees" !

I did get some of my room cleared yesterday; got two loads of clean, folded clothes put away and/or hung up. Also pulled all the puzzles out of the piles magazines I'd already read, and ditched the mags into the recycling bin.

Somebody blinked again .... is it really supposed to be Saturday so soon?

I hope all of y'all up in the bad weather are staying warm and cozy.

Take good care!

We went to the beach, but the wind was blowing sand up into the air. I got sand in my eyes, and my right eye watered all day. We sat in the car with back windows open to breath salty ocean air. Then came home. We live two miles from the ocean where the wind was a mild breeze.

Afternoon all. Very briefly 'rained ice-rain'. Frozen rain drop pellets on my skylights. I still have that mouse under the dish/trash can. Just waiting few more days to make sure 'he's sincerely dead' (like the coroner from Wizard of Oz said'. Learned a new word - never heard it before. From the coroner scene when he says; 'he AVERS' the death of WW of E.  AVER = to solemnly, seriously vow or attest, like testifying in court.

stars - like your 2 new words. And identifying Florida as a 'petri-dish. It does explain the angst that Tweety is feeling.

Started drinking Twinnings Earl Grey Lavender Tea. Someone here suggested it, I think. The verdict is still out...

Hmmm, two more days and that mouse is going to start attracting little ants. Would be better for you to get it out ASAP, I'd think. Wish I was up there just to relieve you of that problem, but y'know, the weather and all would make it a tough commute. I recommend you pick it up by the tail (cause the rest of it is stuck to the adhesive board) and either seal it in a plastic bag and dispose of it in your trash, or pitch it as is out a window or door. Eauuuuwwww!

stars - gee!

I just DO NOT have the stomach to dispose of it. I'm still afraid it might still be alive. I did spray around the dish base to discourage ants.

Good Evening -

Recently got home from work. Working the day-shift is weird. The sun is out. More people in the hallways. Patients not sleeping. It's weird. BUT, it was a good day, with it being fairly "Q".

I'm working tomorrow night in the ICU, then I'm off from the next 4 nights (provided I don't get asked to work for the night Shift Director, next week).

Just want to say a warm "hello". Hope all get a good night's sleep.

Ted

If there is any possibility of any puny life left in its little body at this point, I'd say it's a sure bet it couldn't DO anything to you! Poor little tortured mousie has got to have given up the ghost by now...days w/o water, et. al. ....Buck up girl! Git'erdone!!!!
