Good Morning!

I'm wondering if one of the other "trinity" is posting right now as it's rather late for the thread not have been started so I'm just going to post this quickly and post more later.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Tweety

J had to cancel on dinner last night.  His back was acting up, probably aggravated by the stress of planning a going away party for his neighbors.  Which were thrown into chaos when their buyer backed out at the last minute.  Hopefully he'll be calmer today an in less pain and we can still meet Sun

Choir is planning to sing the Sunday after next, choosing a song we know well.  We may sing again this month using another familiar piece.  Thankfully no Wednesday night practices will be needed

Three day weekend for me.  Have some cooking, cleaning, and laundry to do, but I'll space that out as much as possible and not try and do it all in one day

Going to meet dad for lunch.  Also headed out for a hike as the weather should be nice today

Joe, sorry that J's back hurting and hope he feels better and the stress lessens.

Herring, sorry for the ongoing drama with the plumbing.  Hope it resolves quickly.

J22, sorry you're not feeling well hope that it passes.  I've been waiting since November for my Shingles vaccine.  We should be getting our flu shots sometimes next month at work.

Thanks for the heads up about the stove Stars.  It looks like it's not my stove but the ones with the touch controls.  I went budget and got one with the old fashioned dial controls.  I did register it, so if it's recalled, I will find out.

One of our techs walked off the job when the boss confronted her about just sitting having coffee at the beginning of the shift when she was orienting someone.  I've noticed this a lot in the good economy people just not showing up or quitting on the spot.  Not RNs because we have a license to protect but other staff.  Really, some people anger me so much with their lack of work ethic.  You clock in and take a coffee break and then get angry when told to do your job??

Looks like where I live has been taken off the "cone of uncertainty" of the hurricane but much of Florida remains.  I'm relieved but my relief will be someone else misery.  If it continues to head east it might actually head up to my parent's house but they are inland it will die down by the time it gets there.

A friend is coming over and we're heading over to best friends to get him out of the house for dinner.

Ooh, do I count as part of the trinity, even if mine is not the third post?

Feeling much better today. I am glad I just gave myself permission to take a day off. Dh and I were going to go out to celebrate our wedding anniversary , but I felt awful and he is still exhausted from his work trips. Maybe tonight.

Tweety, that is good news. I think I heard a forecaster say Dorian might turn away from the mainland altogether. Here's hoping. I walked away from a job once, I think I was 20 years old. I was managing a fast food joint, and my stupid assistant manager got robbed while dropping the deposit at the bank. The owners blamed me and were going to hold out the amount lost from my so-called bonuses. Nope. The assistant got my job and started driving a pretty new car. Hmmm.

J really has had a string of health issues. I hope they resolve soon. That is nice you can continue your choir, but with less pressure.

NSIME, I have picked up all sorts of Canadian talk, partly because we mostly watched their TV as I was growing up, partly from coworkers, and from taking my boys to hockey twice a week as they grew up. I often say holiday instead of vacation, pronounce tourniquet as "turn-a-key" and a stocking cap is a toque.

I am going to take a bike ride this morning, and depending on how dh has recovered, we will probably go shopping, and maybe a dinner and movie to celebrate 43 years of marriage.

About fingerprints: I had to get them at the sheriff's  office  for my current job and they said that mine were nearly wore off like N'SIME's. All those years of hand washing? or gloves? or both?

Our gym uses an index fingerprint. We put in our phone number and then put our finger on the reader. Mine wouldn't work. They were letting older people go on with just the phone number. I asked the manager who told me, "It is your age and years of hand washing. They had the equipment services and now my same finger works. I still have the card I got when I changed to this gym in 1998. There is no longer a scanner for the card.

I'm doing invitations for my husband's birthday party at his lodge in a couple weeks. Putting on a picture of him at age 19, and one taken recently at age 91. I like the old picture better because he was smiling.

Pin a 🌹 on my 👃! Pat me on the shoulder! 👼  I was so good today I can barely stand myself 👏.

I woke up with focused energy; I decided I was going to sort out Nannie's collection of earrings, the heaps from which she has trouble finding matched sets, and has a bunch of one-one-ers, or mateless earrings. I  untangled necklace chains, and hid my horror at some of the hideous, huge, bauble necklaces. Reorganized the jewelry cabinet...

And THEN!...

I have been so sick of seeing her clothes hanging all higgeldy-piggeldy and all the clothes hangers jammed together with several pieces (unrelated) layered together on one poor hanger on the clothes rod in her room, the awfullest collection of unwearable d/t being a size & 1/2 too small, skirt and jacket sets, and more etcetera. I flung them all out on the bed and organized the heavy, winter stuff at the furthest reach, then the suits she'd worn to church (she doesn't go to church anymore) and several of the suits are too small for her now, so they went toward the back as well. I put all her sweaters and jackets together, then blouses and blouse-sets, then pants, then scarves, et al. Transferred several armsful of hanging clothes she will probably never wear again, up to the master-bedroom's closet.WHEW! She would not let me donate any of the size 14's pants....she MIGHT lose weight, or "we" could have a yard sale (HA!), so they are in a bag labeled "Nannie's size 14's", the wording of which she had me turn toward the wall, so no one will be able to look at it and see the size she can no longer wear.   Whoever might see or care, I have no earthly clue; though she does often think there are more people either staying here or visiting, so perhaps it's "THEM"!

Anyway, it was quite the task, but I have earned multiple brownie points from Nannie and my hubby. Ozzie, however, thought it was an exceedingly boring pastime and slept through most of it except for wanting outside to pee three times. It did take a few or three hours, overall.

This morning, I just happened to wake up with the energy and there was nothing on my dance-card, so I was determined to 'git'r'done', doncha know. It's been on my mind for a month or more, but for the longest time I couldn't summon spit at the thought of it. I know it will not stay organized, but OH WELL! *I* feel better, and we all know that's the main thing ♥️😉

Wiped out; tottering up to bed. Have a good night, and the good carry over to tomorrow....
