Good morning!

J22, what a day full of frustration.  Hope you have a good weekend.

NSIME, read you post.  Sorry to hear you're still in recurring pain.  All the best.

I sometime fell asleep around 9:00 with the lights on the my book unopened still in my hands and woke up around 10pm.  Slept well until around 4:00AM.  Guess I went to bed too early.

Had a nice day off yesterday.  Got everything done.  Working today one day to make up for having off for the Patti LaBelle concert.  Got called yesterday because of some staffing mishap but ignored them.  Was too tired and too much to do.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Morning Tweety

Yesterday was relatively quiet work wise, after a busy few days

Met J for dinner at one of our usual places.  He talked to his friend's family and got the loveseat from the apartment.  Going to bring it over tomorrow.  Glad it was small enough to not require some type of moving service.  He's going to visit his friend again today, probably in the AM when she'll be more aware

Today I go with my dad, sister, BIL, and nephew to see Hamilton downtown.  Going to meet at a sushi place beforehand

Weather today is not going to be good, 40s cold and rainy.  But it should get better by Monday

I am so sorry that you are going through this, nursej.

Hopefully, you will get the appointments that you need, and be on your way to feeling better.

Oh, Stars, I know you can handle the 22+ chapters!!!!

My group last night, was SANE!!!!!!

It was amazing!!!!!

Hope all have a good day.

Morning-

Sleepy today.  I was supposed to pick up Fiance at the airport at 11 last night, but flight was delayed til 12:30 AM, then they couldn't land due to severe thunderstorms. At 1:30 AM the flight was diverted to New York and I went home. Driving was a little sketchy due to heavy downpours.  We are supposed to be in CT (the state, not the procedure) at 11 for his niece's confirmation.  He rented a car after getting about 2 hours sleep and I will meet him there. I'm tired, but I got more sleep than he did.

J22-I'm sorry your day was so frustrating.  Sounds like nothing went right.  Hope today is better.

Steph-Glad you had fun with your grandkids.  The good Chinese food was a bonus!

Stars-Hope the pain is less today.

Tweety-Hope work goes well today.

Joe-I'm jealous that you're seeing Hamilton. Enjoy!  We're having the same weather you're having.  Where did Spring go?

Hope all have a good day.

Tweety: I hope you have OK shifts. Glad you enjoyed the concert!

No Stars: Prayers the doctors help with the pain.

BC: I hope you can rest today

nursej22: I hope you can relax and then have a good treatment for the A-flutter. It's gotta be uncomfortable.

Joe: Enjoy Hamilton!

Plumber is to return Monday. The pipes under the house are falling apart so he put the new toilet in temporarily. Monday it will take time and cost a lot. That is what we save for.

Ooh, Hamilton!? That sounds fabulous. Nel, good to read that you had a decent shift. Ugh, herring, plumbing can be pricey, but oh so necessary. We have a clogged toilet, stopping at a hardware store is on the to-do list.

Weird weather abounds, doesn't it? Although ours is not as extreme as you all. Cool and windy here. Our Japanese cherry trees are in bloom, and pink flower clusters and petals are blowing all over the yard and cars.

I did get a cardiology appointment, pending them getting the referral paperwork, but it is not until next Friday. Other than being tired, I feel okay, but I get short of breath with exertion, and for some reason, when I bend over. Maybe Dianna can explain that one to me. Another landscaper is coming over to give a patio install estimate. Then will be running errands, and toss in some yard work, and maybe a nap.

cheers all,

j22

I am unable to explain the "positional dyspnea," j22.  All I know is when I described MINE to my Cardiologist, she nodded knowingly and said "ah, positional dyspnea."  ????  I will have to look it up.  I do not have afib or aflutter (I am told I will get it eventually, which is why I requested LAA ligation when I had my mitral valve repair in 2015), but did experience some CHF (EF dropped to 40%) initially post-op.  It has since increased to 60% (near normal) but I still experience some DOE.  And "positional dyspnea."

Good you got a Cardiology appointment so soon!  I will be interested to hear what the suggested plan is.  Some ppl are unaware that they are in afib or aflutter; others know right away when their rhythm changes.  I hope you are able to do everything you want, in spite of the rhythm!

I hope today goes better for you, and you are able to accomplish more than yesterday's runaround carousel ride.

Thank you Dianah. I remember when you had your surgery. Yeah, that dyspnea thing sorts of takes one by surprise, but now I know it’s more than being old and overweight, 😂.

76 degrees, slight breeze, sunshine.

Just finished a 25 inning baseball fundraiser.  My kiddo ended up getting sick, fever, congestion, his eardrum burst.  He kept playing and didn't tell me about his ear until we got home.  Yep, momma looked and yep, it is ugly.

He's resting now. Probably picked up a virus on our trip.  Hope I don't get it.

One of the moms made these great Costco hot dogs, popcorn, drinks, chips.

The winner of the fundraiser ended up being one of our family members and it is a hunting license for a year.  Those are pricey!

Ok - might go lay down on the heating pad for awhile.  I've been offered a bonus to come work acute tonight but I've let my ACLS lapse and just don't think it would be kosher to do so.  We are very shortstaffed here.

j22 . . . hope things get better for you.

(Edited to add . . . that FB  page about nurses and cards is getting nasty and combative.  Many are expressing surprise that nurses can have differing opinions and don't like it.  Some are leaving in a huff.  As a seasoned member of AN . . . it seems so weird to see it played out so quickly over there).

An afterthought . . .

Ow, poor Spidey!

I agree about that FB page about Nurses and Cards is down right mean. Wouldn't it be boring if all agreed, all the time? I have resisted chiming in, but shake my head over the anti-vac garbage .

It has been sunny, windy, snow mixed with rain, and sunny again. Weird.

I know! Anti-vaxx nurses!  Crazy.

Just mowed the lawn as the sun was going down.  Made some homemade frijoles and then blended them with sauteed onions, garlic, and cheddar cheese into bean dip or frijole dip.  Also, made salsa.  Opened a bottle of Viognier I got at New Clairvaux Winery a few weeks ago.

All is good!

Hello all!

Friday night I helped with music at an assisted living facility.  We had two mandolins, a banjo and four guitars!  About twenty of the residents came, and we had a good time singing old hymns.

Later, as I was home waiting for dh to come home from his band practice, I got a phone call from a friend who has lived in Georgia for the past 25 or so years.  She and her husband, an attorney, are transplanted Californians.  They happened to be in a nearby town for his 50th HS reunion, and were planning to attend a party Sat night in a town near us.  We arranged to meet for an early lunch, and then went with them to the party, which, as it turns out, was held at a friend's house!  We had no idea this friend and our Georgia friends had attended the same HS!  When we arrived at the party we saw two other ppl we knew, as well!  Small world!  Had a good time catching up!

Our son and his wife, and some other friends, joined us at the restaurant for the early lunch, before we headed over to the party at the house.

Just got home, time to relax.

Steph, hope Spidey feels better tomorrow.  Ow!!

Have a good evening
