The day may come when it will be advantageous for us to be married. Now is not the time.

I hear you about the licenses. I have or had all those plus a union card, a food workers card, concealed weapons lic. My wallet used to be packed with all those and car registration, insurance, etc. In some strange way not to be married frees one of that feeling of another thing to put in the wallet of life.

You don't want to hike in Alaska without protection from grizzlies. Most will not bother you but teen aged bears have no manners. Mamma bears have no tolerance. .44 mag. was Mike's and .41 snubnose was mine.

You might get the idea about where we lived.

What a gorgeous place! Thanks for sharing the video AKY. I wouldn't want to come across an angry bear. The cubs look soooo cute but a protective momma....No thanks.

We have a few Glock hand guns. I have a walther 380 hand gun. The same kind used by James Bond in the old "Bond"movies. (Using a British accent) My name is Frances...NurseFrances.

yes, i understand, there can be legal bennies, especially for widows/widowers, to having been legally married. I can also feel, for some people, there can be some emotional bennies to NOT being legally married, for some people. Others might feel there are emotional bennies to being legally hitched. Guess to each their own.

we *almost* got married once, when he needed carpal tunnel surgery after planting 60 trees to line our yard....but, it seemed not a great reason to get married,:roflmao: so, we didn't.

i got to spend time in the arctic, go to Kodiak, live on the mainland and finally spend almost 15 years in Sitka. I wish I could go back. I still miss friends.

as with most other animals, i find myself becoming increasingly fascinated with the world of bears.

what a lucky person you are aky, to have lived in such a breathtaking, God-created environment.

(that said, i did wince when thinking of the salmons fate. :) sad smile.)

There are dozens of these to show the beautiful area.

When I say I spent so much time in Alaska I am often asked about the cold and dark. People have a rough time undertanding it is a rain forest, also. They think I am not quite truthful when I talk about some of the beauty.

Well, some of it is a rain forest, for sure...certainly not where I hang out. LOL

Hello, it's me again. I just have a few questions for you:

1. Ever thought of someone, anyone in your life that (maybe you shouldn't wonder about) -- you felt, belongs to the 'What if' category? That you've wondered (maybe).... if things were like this, or like that? Why is it that 'What if' people are the ones who usually stay in our minds?

2. If yes, let's say... it's been years that you haven't spoken to them -- WHAT would you say? Will it be a chance meeting? Or will you call them to schedule a meeting? Let's say, that this someone had authority over you in the past. Will that stop you in some way? Nope, this someone has no authority over you at the moment.

3. If no, then consider yourself lucky! At least, you'll probably never had? (or never will have) any 'What if' people in your life. Maybe that's better for some people then.

Anyway, these are my questions so far. Sometimes, I wonder why am I still asking these questions to myself. I miss my A :D
