Has anyone tried raspberry ketones? What did you think? I am considering trying them. I do not want to take anything that would make me feel jittery or like I was on speed. I have looked at at the ingredients in a couple brands and from what I can tell they don't have any stimulants in them. I was just curious if anyone has had any success with them.
Feb 15, 2013 by Spidey's mom To be honest, I think it is another unproven fad. Raspberry Ketones: Uses, Health Benefits, and Risks
Feb 17, 2013 by somenurse i agree with Spidey's Mom, above. I think it is a scam. Billions, literal actual billions are made each and every year, selling stuff to make one lose weight, increase genital size, grow hair, melt cellulite, etc. There is no 'secret' to losing weight. It is a matter of calorie intake, vs. calories burned. Here is a great way to actually see your own personal calorie intake/calories burned: (it's free, it's sensible, it involves developing a new relationship with food) Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com Many people there^, seem to think that "diets" don't work, because the dieter does NOT develop a new relationship with their food that they CAN actually use for the rest of their life. "Dieters" can and do lose weight, but, notoriously regain it all back, when they try to resume 'normal' eating again....cuz, they never did learn a new way to approach food. they just took a 6 week break of 'normal' eating, but, learned nothing. Keeping weight off for good, requires that some of us, have to almost rewire our brains all over again, from scratch, and develop new habits we can LIVE with, forever, not just for 6 weeks, but for forever. I joined there, after i'd gained 20lbs during mentalpause, (it's like waking up with someone else's metabolism, imo) and that site worked for me, anyway. I did mess up a lot at first, til i got the hang of re-deciding and re-learning a healthier way to see food. so don't give up, if you mess up at first, stick with it. Developing new habits takes time and practice. YOU CAN DO IT!! good luck, hope anything i wrote helps. It's not easy to undo ongoing habits, but, it can be done.
Feb 19, 2013 by jtmarcy12 Hi blacksunflower: Please, please don't waste your money. This is just another "fad" to get people to waste their money on something that is useless. I am really sadden that Dr. Oz is promoting this knowing that this stuff just does not work.. I told my primary care doctor about how I wanted to use this and looked at me said "this stuff just does not work". Dr Andrew Lessman who sell his vitamins on HSN even said how it just does not work and to follow the "money trail". I believe someone may have put his info on u-tube about these "fads". Personally I feel Dr Oz has become nothing more than a snake oil salesman. He should know better. But these companies shove this stuff on him show him some "studies" where a few people may have lost weight and that is suppose to do the trick. Nothing is new. You still have to exercise, watch what you eat in order to loose weight. These companies are hoping to become rich. Just like with Oprah, when different companies would send her hundreds of products just so that she will have it on her show, once it appeared most made tons of money. Now these companies are using Dr Oz to do the same thing. I know someone said he does not endorse these products well by having it on your show, that is almost the same thing because people are going to associate this item as being approved by Dr Oz. Trust me, save you money. Last year it was African mango, then rasberry ketone, coffee bean extract. I bought the african mango and the only thing I lost was my money, so please save your money.
Feb 20, 2013 by Bouncyball Thanks for the input. I did not buy them. I am back to trying my best to eat healthy and exercise. I got on the elliptical for 40 minutes yesterday and could only go for 15 minutes today. I am sore and out of shape!
Feb 21, 2013 by difpaula I have not tried the raspberry ketones but have tryed green coffee extract. The green coffee bean extract did help to shed a small amount of weight and body fat, but the anxiety from the concentrated caffine was horrible. These are not FDA approved and the negative side effects so far far outweigh the benefits.
Feb 23, 2013 by joanna73 I have tried raspberry ketones. They will work, but only to give you an extra boost in shedding fat. You still need to limit calories, eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. The pills in themselves won't work effectively if you aren't on the right path.
