We had a tiny wedding. My mom's church has a chapel off to the side of the main sanctuary (huge, and seats about a thousand, WAY TOO BIG) and that's where we got married. The chapel was about half full. Close friends, close family. It was a short list. And we did it on a budget.

I :redbeathe the above wedding stories. You're no less or more married one way or the other!

we "eloped" to new orleans and were married by a justice of the peace in new orleans city park. we had just parents and siblings there, and my best friends. then we spent the afternoon alone together in our hotel room prior to the crawfish boil that was our reception. all of the relatives (54 cousins and 13 aunts/uncles) were in new orleans for the jazz fest, so they all came to our crawfish boil! dh's aunts owned a bar, and relatives contributed everything but the crawfish. the party was over at midnight, and the post party party continued until dawn. i'm glad we had those few hours in the afternoon to ourselves!
