Why is there is no real discussion nor is anyone asking Senator Kamala Harris about her history as a prosecutor and Attorney General? The media has portrayed her as a progressive candidate. Her policy as a prosecutor and State Attorney General speaks volumes. She was willing to prosecute minorities and people of lower socioeconomic status but failed to prosecute Steve Mnuchin. She fails to listen to the story. https://theintercept.com/2017/01/05/kamala-harris-fails-to-explain-why-she-didnt-prosecute-steven-mnuchins-bank/ https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/adamserwer/some-lawyers-just-want-to-see-the-world-burn https://www.thedailybeast.com/kamala-harris-ag-office-tried-to-keep-inmates-locked-up-for-cheap-labor https://theintercept.com/2017/01/05/kamala-harris-fails-to-explain-why-she-didnt-prosecute-steven-mnuchins-bank/

Jul 3, 2019 by herring_RN, ASN, BSN She probably did not criminally prosecute him because she did not have the authority. I cannot find any evidence that Mr. Mnuchin was arrested, indited, or investigated by law enforcement for illegal foreclosures and/or evictions. I also find no evidence that a prosecutor can prosecute a case without an arrest or a referral to criminally investigate a person. Quote There was a civil complaint alleging that his company, OneWest violated the Fair Housing Act by allegedly not opening branches near minority neighborhoods and offering fewer mortgage loans to minority applicants. The complaint urged a HUD investigation regarding the business, not a criminal investigation of an individual. http://calreinvest.org/press-release/cit-group-accused-of-redlining-and-violating-fair-housing-act/ She probably could have authorized a lawsuit, but by the time of the request most of the potential benefits to consumers had already been achieved through the California Homeowner Bill of Rights AND One West Bank was among 16 Banks ordered to reimburse homeowners who were improperly foreclosed upon. https://www.csmonitor.com/Business/Latest-News-Wires/2011/0415/Mortgage-lenders-must-pay-homeowners-for-improper-foreclosures Quote Another civil complaint was regarding home foreclosures: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3250383-OneWest-Package-Memo.html Kamala Harris was probably the only prosecutor in the United States to go after banks for foreclosures. Quote The California Homeowner Bill of Rights marked the third step in Attorney General Harris’ response to the state’s foreclosure and mortgage crisis. The Mortgage Fraud Strike Force was created in May 2011 to investigate and prosecute misconduct at all stages of the mortgage process. In February 2012, Attorney General Harris secured a commitment from the nation’s five largest banks for up to $18 billion for California borrowers. https://oag.ca.gov/hbor Quote Attorney General Kamala D. Harris, the attorney general of California, could have derailed a nationwide settlement with big banks over home foreclosure abuses when she walked out of talks last September. Last week, though, she emerged with a prize and a little vindication. Ms. Harris, already a rising Democratic star and a potential candidate for governor, announced that California would receive by far the largest share of the benefits in the deal, which is expected to climb beyond the $26 billion in the initial announcement. https://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/14/business/how-kamala-harris-finessed-a-foreclosure-deal-for-california.html Quote About how prosecutors choose which cases to charge: https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/how-prosecutors-decide-which-cases-charge.html Quote Steve Mnuchin's Controversial History With the Foreclosure Crisis https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/steve-mnuchins-controversial-history-foreclosure-crisis/story?id=44840027
