I hear you.
I was pretty favorably impressed by a test shoot done with Glocks. They took 20 off-the-shelf G17s, stripped them, and then dumped all the components into piles. They then reassembled one weapon with randomly selected components and then test-fired it. After 4,500 rounds, a trigger spring broke. They stripped it, grabbed another spring out of the pile, and then continued to lay down another several thousand rounds without a fail.
Still not as reliable as a revolver but pretty solid.
My bro is a retired SF operator and he swears by Glocks, as do a couple of LEO friends.
