Go Fund me = White cargo van (No more homelessness)

If you open up this link, you'll read 3 different people who paid off their loans in the most unorthodox way. The one I know out of the 3 that a friend of mine sent to me 5 years ago was the one about Ken Ilgunas who bought an old Ford Econoline van with the curtains, cooked and lived in this van in Alaska. It's titled "A man...and his van". I know the temperature in Las Vegas is ********, but if he can do it in Alaska, I can do it in Las Vegas during the winters, just not summer. 1. I'd probably live in a all-in-one here in Vegas during the summers or 2. idle my van all night to keep a little cooler, but that's probably the last option I want to take. I'd take 1., but there's nothing wrong with living in Alaska. You get that $3,000 oil rebate during tax season. Not sure if they're still doing that, but last I heard they were a couple years ago. You're a very energetic rambler.

It looks like something DirecTV/Cox/Plumbers use when they come by your house with their tools. And when you try to borrow money from a bank, they ask you if you pay rent. With student loans racked up, it's a vicious cycle. Maybe you're right. Maybe I won't get anything out of this. It's kind of stupid that that's the nature of the beast. Over 300 million people in America and I only calculated 800 people at $5 each for a $4,000 amount of money for a van with over 200,000 miles. If you can't afford to make a donation on a funding website, you have no business being on there in the first place. Those who are well off would probably have rightful business being on there but since it's capitalism, they don't have to be on there.

You're an RN (you) who makes more than a CNA (me), therefore, you (RN) can afford to buy a van and/or still pay rent vs. myself (CNA) cannot afford a van and/or pay rent. If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that numbers don't lie. Businesses, including facilities, could back that up. Would you want to be paid what a CNA makes doing what you do vs. what a CNA does be paid what an RN makes? I wouldn't.

How is it bizarre? It's going towards a van so I can lower my level of responsibility. Not cocaine or strippers. I have no kids so parents can't call me out for being a POS father because I have no kids. And what I meant by famliy and friends not providing me a place to stay, that means not while saving up for a van and not preventing me from buying a van by providing me a place to stay. It said nothing about them contributing to paying out of pocket for a fundraiser. Basically, "no, you can't stay at our house". Living in my car is dangerous enough because I have see-through windows. Plus, it's uncomfortable compared to a van. Some cargo vans allow you to stand up in.

Family and friends are not contributors. We're talking about people I don't know across the nation. For example, 6,000 people donate $5. That's almost $35,000. I would also put in the description that all proceeds go to the van. It doesn't even have to be above $4,000. I mean there's a few vans on ebay for $4,000. $5 multiplied by 800 people = $4,000 for the person on Ebay.

Hey everyone, Has anyone ever started a go fund me page? I'm thinking about starting one. I'm out of pre-reqs for college so being on financial aid is getting old, I'm having issues with getting into a nursing program, and I'd like to work as a CNA and I'm not going to pay full rent a month at where I live once I start working full time. It costs like $1,000 a month in my city to live in a all-in-one. That's $12,000 in one year. There are some vans on Ebay for like a fraction of that ($4,500). I'd like to use the remainder of my time between now and August where I don't have any classes (I'm in one for Culinary) to work as a CNA and get some experience. If I could start a go-fund me for donations between $4,000-50,000 dollars, maybe I could get a van and move out of my section 8 and work as a CNA, not "OWE" HUD a damn thing, and earn some experience where I can work part time and hopefully get into nursing school. As a CNA, if I work full time, I'll pay almost my whole income to live where I live at now where I don't have to pay electricity or water. If I own a van, I can get a lot for what I'm paying not owing anything on the van itself. A van is a place I can rest my body without being disturbed by anyone. I'll register it with veteran plates to further increase my inability of being bothered. I won't park in a handicapped, but if I'm parked at a public park or something, I could get some sleep without having to pay parking fees. If I apply for a job right now as a CNA and get hired for a full time position which is what I think places usually look for in Vegas, HUD will want 4 pay stubs which would give me two months from not having to pay full price yet. But at the rate CNA's are paid, two months wouldn't be enough to afford even the cheapest white cargo van in decent condition from what I"ve seen on Ebay. No, family and friends will not provide me a place to stay. A white cargo van is the only proven reliable method. *EDIT* I still have my Post 9/11 GI Bill. It expires in 2025 (roughly). Yes, I have plenty of time to use it but some program have special rules such as "you can't take a TEAS entrance exam more than 2 times in 2 years" which means if you fail to get in both times you have to wait 2 years before being able to take the TEAS again. I've been trying to use my GI bill since being out of the military back in 2010. The van is the only reliable method. Nothing else will work. I can work whenever and make whatever I want while living in a van. I can also go to school and study at campus where I sleep. Thoughts? Any experiences with a funding page or donation page? I don't want to prolong my reach from nursing school anymore.

Making time to date in nursing school ?!

Lmao I should just say that I've always been told to resent dating while in nursing school. I'm not there in nursing school yet so I guess when I get there I'll see why they said that, but I've tried to approach girls who were in and I didn't think it was that bad to date them and you know be serious about them and not play games with them but I guess what I want is what some would call "knowing them for years to get to that level and not just up front"...
