    Winning...the economy under Trump

Gah, that limit on likes. In the jury example that I mentioned there was a period of time when the group was asked about their personal experience with police. Lots of people spoke up about nice officers who had stopped them for an offense and given them a break. All of those folks were white. No people of color had experienced that. Certainly, that anecdotal look at a small group of voting citizens is not statistically relevant but it highlights a noticeable difference in individual experience even in a community not known for police brutality or violence.

    Presidential Election 2020

With the election of several Muslims in local and national markets the anti Islamic rhetoric is ramped up with these claims of antisemitism directed at liberals. It should just be sad but the willingness of the cult to believe it and the desire of the press to publish the opinions is alarming.

Your comments increasingly demonstrate something other than an interest in "true discussion", in my opinion. Only you can decide how to engage on this forum in ways that are not wasteful of your time.

The most accurate recession indicator is closer to flashing red after the Fed’s ‘dovish double-down We could exchange personal insults or we could talk about the economy and what we should expect as our debt and deficit become unsustainable.

    Presidential Election 2020

I recently participated in a jury selection process for a native American man. The defense attorney asked the panel if they thought the fellow could get a fair trial in the community. The consensus was "maybe", "we hope so". The final jury had only one alaska native seated with a total of 4 non white. It was sort of shocking to hear some of the casual comments from young white men who seemed completely unaware of the racial prejudice that their remarks reflected, the lack of cultural awareness was so evident it was almost surreal. I am not shocked that a white male who is a proud Trump supporter on AN chooses to believe that calling someone Pocahontas is an innocent bit of name calling not rising to the level of a racist slur. Heck, the leader of that kind of thinking thought it was okay to joke about calling someone Pocahontas (as a derogatory name) to elderly native veterans under the portrait of Andrew Jackson. There doesn't seem to be much empathy, compassion, or self awareness promoted within the voting base of the GOP. I guess as long as they can simply deny the racism, lies, unethical/amoral/corrupt/ criminal/erratic behavior the conservatives will be pleased to reelect Trump.

That's certainly one spin. If Sanders broke the law her should suffer the legal consequences. Meanwhile you actively support the candidate surrounded by people breaking laws and going to prison. Doesn't that seem slightly ironic?

Unionization is much preferable to investigation, indictment, and imprisonment for most people. Does Trump use his campaign as a way to keep former administration staff quiet? Winning...the economy under Trump

Have you encountered many modern conservatives who have been convinced by their media bubble that facism is a form of liberal extremism? I have. I spent more than an hour with a fellow here in Alaska and finally cracked his indoctrination by using sources like Encyclopedia Britannica. The first few minutes were slow going as we exhausted the right wing rhetoric and slander that he was most familiar with. After that he began to process the obvious contradictions in definitions and misrepresentation of fact and history. We parted cordially. He remains staunchly Republican but deleted the incorrect meme about facism on his FB page. Similar to a comment on AN a couple of days ago he also called informed progressives propagandists while simultaneously believing and sharing propaganda. I wondered if he was confused about that words meaning as well.
