    Gov. Andrew Cuomo

What gives you the impression that Cuomo is interested in VP?

    Gov. Andrew Cuomo

Millions of Americans have been lulled into thinking that polite people don't discuss or concern themselves with politics. That successful campaign has benefited the kleptocrats for decades now. The less connected the population is to the politics of their communities and country, the more populated their politics will be with charlatans and conmen.

    President Trump National Scandal

That limited testing is an enormous Trump/Kushner failure of pandemic response which directly contributes to widespread infection. It's easy to wonder if Jared was busily trying to profit from the testing as his earliest reaction which resulted in Trump slow walking the national testing. The Trump family are well known to be greedy, immoral and unethical grifters, why wouldn't they try to profit from human misery?

*shrugs* Point at others rather than confront the obvious incompetence and lying corruption from Trump and the "conservative" leadership who foolishly follow his lead.

    President Trump National Scandal

Somehow, bad leadership on the part of a Democrat negates the ugly realities of Trump's republican response across the country, in your mind.

    President Trump National Scandal

The statement was made because Trumpublicans seem to be having difficulty with; 1) transitioning so quickly from political hoax language to omg it's going to kill a whole bunch of people. Trump accomplished that about-face without a hitch but most people get dizzy spinning like that, 2) providing actual leadership after they have achieved power. There are so many examples of conservative state leadership wanting nothing to do with the leadership requirements of the jobs they covet. Kemp cheated so that he could emulate the lying incompetence if Trump. DeSantis, clearly, has no spine himself, rural western states were more interested in preserving veterinary lab testing that ramping up COVID testing as late as last Friday. These sort of observations are important because Trump supporters and GOP voters can't possible be expected to make smarter choices if they don't ever hear the truth about their preferred political party. It must be repeated regularly and routinely because the propaganda they are steeped in is continuous and repetitive and has two primary messages...Trump = conservatism and is not to be criticized, liberals = unamerican enemy.

Looking at stopping us from losing a million people sounds like the priority right now. Citizens allowed to do as they please is not in the recipe for +/- 1000,000 deaths...that recipe calls for universal and strict adherence to the guidelines...not half assed patchwork plans. Fauci and Birx were both clear about that point but conservatives can't seem to hear that through the Trump speak. It is true though, that the reluctant states could have a much shorter experience with the virus by "riding it out" in the way that Trump was initially planning as counseled by his economic advisers. I have family in Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado...I pray for them constantly.

Funny how the right doesn't have any problem with Trump talking like a despotic dictator who says that he can do whatever he wants. And the Senate just told us in February that Trump can do our say whatever he wants as long as its in Trump's best interest because his best interests are our best interests. The right didn't have any issue with that. But the minute that the left demands that the POTUS act as a strong leader for all of these united states and unify a national response...well, the right thinks THAT would be acting like a dictator. The right also apparently doesn't comprehend the necessity of a strong national response to a dangerous pandemic. They are fully prepared to call the unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of their fellow countrymen a victory for Trump. He already sees himself as a hero in this tragedy and his devotees are busily spinning the narrative that Trump has saved us from millions of deaths. That's how despots work. Falsehoods and spin. Did you know that Kim Jun Un is famous for perfect scores in archery as a very small child? In that same way, Trump is the best president ever...best young student at his private prep school, best baseball player in NY, best student at Wharton, best real estate developer, best deal maker, best book writer, a very stable genius... The left doesn't want Trump to act like a dictator, the left wants Trump to act like a real president with real concern for the people of his country...regardless of their politics or address.

Nah. American presidents are never criticized for the price of gasoline.

    President Trump National Scandal

Trump is criticized for the reckless language that he used well into the crisis. He is criticised for politicizing it at his rallies. He is criticized for his mishandling of the time that the USA had to prepare once it was clear to the WHO that a dangerous virus was on the loose. Trump is criticized for botching the testing response and then blaming it on Obama. No one has any real criticism of Dr. Fauci's restrained handling of the virus in the early weeks. Fauci likely didn't anticipate the level of incompetent management of the national pandemic response that would quickly unfold.

    The Congressional Thread

Someone has to hold Trump accountable for his lies and incompetence, his devotees certainly arent going to. The current Senate isn't going to.

A Ventilator Stockpile, With One Hitch: Thousands Do Not Work There was a contract dispute last summer which resulted in stoppage of the contacted management and maintenance of the stockpile. The new company, Agiliti, just took over at the end of January. They are a new, merged company. I bet they put in a low bid as Trump sought to renegotiate all federal contracts as promised. I hope they are up to the challenge and the private equity firm that owns them is not some golfing buddy of Trump.

    President Trump National Scandal

I can just tell you all that I was relieved to hear that Trump declared yesterday that Alaska didn't need to shelter in place. He actually pulled that nonsense out of his ear and tossed it out to the national press during a pandemic briefing. Trump's incompetence is deadly.

What point is proven? That the NYT is failing as Trump childishly rants? Or does it prove that if they publish difficult and unflattering truths about Trump that people outside of the cult will read it?
