    Uplifting quotes for the day!

Inspiring Bible Verse for Nurses and Caregivers 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 'And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' Matthew 25:35-40

    Play any instruments, anyone?

I read music fairly well. I taught myself violin, piano, and guitar. I'm still a novice though. After I graduate from my ABSN program, I plan on taking lessons from a professional.

    "Fifty Shades"

Someone told me about this book and recommended it to me when it first came out. I had no idea what it was about. I read the first few pages and then threw it straight in the trashcan. If I wouldn't watch it on TV, I'm not going to read it. What will I gain from reading it anyway. I believe: "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matt 6:22-23 If you like it then you like it, but this was my honest opinion.

Hunger Games... It is just me who thinks it's wrong?

I know this thread is old, but I have read all 3 books and own the movie. I'm very conservative and modest when it comes to entertainment and literature, but I love these books. I think the books and the movie are more appropriate towards adults though. You have to think about the underlying message in the book. It was not violence. I think the author intended to warn people about big government. We know the violence is wrong. Heck the characters except for district 1 knew it was wrong. That's what made the story. They were fighting against the government. It brought on a revolution. The government somehow programed individuals in the capitol to be worry free. They were entertained by the Huger Games and wore fashionable clothing and makeup. They did not have a perspective of what was going on in the districts. Their views were distorted, they were distracted, and they were desensitized. They did not understand that this was real and that children were people taken away to kill each other. This reminds me of the Inca Empire. The rulers worked their people so hard during the day (like slaves), but at night they entertained them with feast and dances to keep them from gathering in the evening to form a revolution. The LA Times discusses this in this article: What 'The Hunger Games' really means - Los Angeles Times.

Where have all the honey bees gone?

We, humans, think we know so much, but we know so little. We are killing ourselves, animal life, and plant life, with these chemicals! The toxins in our food and water are killing us slowly.

    When I graduate I'll be 30

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" Matthew 6:34 Stop worrying because it's not going to make you feel better or help. Focus on getting through the nursing program. Have faith in yourself. Once you get through it, new doors will open and a new life will begin. Plus, maybe you'll find someone in your nursing program;) Everything happens for a reason.

Sewing--it doesn't save time or money. Or does it?

I like taking old clothes and making new things with them. Sometimes I take old dresses and make purses or aprons!
