Do you believe that diet pills actually work?

    My thoughts exactly!

Do you believe that diet pills actually work?

she may need to increase her intake a little then. Have her talk to a dietician first. I just had bariatric surgery because I've been on every diet pill under the sun and have tried every diet/exercise program. Diet pills can be VERY dangerous, whether they are prescription or not. And like all others have said, it requires a total lifestyle change.

All I want for Christmas is..

I want the world to be at peace......and to all jobless persons to have a job, and those without health benefits to have them, and general health promotion. Impossible, no.....improbable, yes...............

At The End Of My Rope

You need to set boundaries and stick to them. You are the only person who can decide those boundaries. It's hard, I had to the same with my dad. Just tell him, tell him again, and if he breaks your boundaries, then tell him you must back off a spell (I ended up having to do just that and it saved my sanity!). You have to look out for yourself, any kids you have and your DH first, then you can worry about other family members. The only way anyone can guilt you into anything is if you let them! Good luck, I've been there, done that!

    Nurses dating Doctors

Really, I NEVER mix business with pleasure, it causes more trouble than it's worth. I don't even socialize with anyone at work except a friend that works in dietary that was my friend long before I ever became a nurse....I just don't like everyone knowing my business. I wouldn't do it, but if you must, make sure that he is available (do your own checking first, and do it discreetly). Also, make sure that you're the only one he's flirting with, he may be a natural flirt who has 20 nurses in the building on a string. Procede with caution.

    Nurses dating Doctors

Only if I could find a hottie male dr that likes short, fat, dumpy women with sarcastic attitudes, I would too!!! My poor hubby wouldn't stand a chance!

    They Think I'm a WITCH!

I believe karma will bite you on the butt as well. I think these kind of folks get exactly what they deserve. Just keep your thoughts pure and you'll be fine. I think your coincidences are too funny!

Nurse forced to participate in late term abortion

I agree. She wasn't threatened with losing her job, she was threatened to lose her OT shifts. If I believed in something that strongly, OT shifts would be the least of my thoughts. I very much think that this nurse has a right to her beliefs, but the "let's sue" attitude to me is wrong. I just don't know if there is a right answer.

The HawthoRNe "Spot the Error" Game

Saving Grace is my FAVORITE show, hands down. But I must admit, I know that police officers really don't act like that (I know too many of them), but I'm sure they don't sit around and say "this isn't real, blah, blah, blah". But I don't care for HawthoRNe either. Just waaaayyy too much is not even close to being real. I love this game, but since I no longer watch, I can't participate :smokin:

    ETHICAL QUESTION please read

Actually, the Tuskegee Project was real, but the men were not injected with syphilis, they had syphilis and were led to believe that they were receiving treatments for the condition. The govt knowingly didn't treat them as they wanted to document the progress of syphilis. Some men left the study and received PCN and were cured. Those that believed our govt died off slowly and painfully. I'm sorry to say that I don't understand your shock at this. Your instructor did this as a way to show you that all research isn't morally right, and is not looking out for the best interest of the population. You as the student should be appalled at the lack of ethical treatment of the individuals involved.

    HawthoRNe...What Do You All Think?

I am still trying to give it a good report, but have a problem with nurses who seem to work in every department-1 minute they look to be in a med surg area, then an emergency setting, then ICU, etc. This is referring to the new grad nurse, Bobbie and Christina. And my CNO wouldn't be caught dead in scrubs or a labcoat, or doing patient care for that matter....I plan on taking it off of my TiVo tonight. Too bad I don't have Showtime so that I can try out watching Nurse Jackie. What channel is this Mercy supposed to be on and what is it supposed to be about--sorry, I don't watch much TV, so I kinda stay out of the loop.....

HawthoRNe: New medical drama feat. a NURSE!!

The reason I think that so many shows only focus on the "reckless" side of nurses is because we are all human, and apt to make mistakes in our personal lives, just like anyone else. They forget the professional side in the mix. I just hope that HawthoRNe gets it right, because despite the recklessness that we all face at one time or another, we are all intelligent professionals as well. I think the general public is really more aware than what we give them credit for, although some folks are gonna believe what's on TV regardless of what you put on there
