Being in Nursing program, no more time for boyfriend!

If the relationship is important to you, you will find the time to spend together, and if it means a lot to him, he will also understand that your time is limited right now and will understand that you're also very busy with school and enjoy the time you can find for him. I have been with my fiance for 6 years and we were together 5 before I started Nursing. I lug all of my books over to his house every weekend and spend Friday-Sunday with him, sometimes I am able to make it Thursday-Sunday, and I study over there. It may be the foundation we were able to build in our relationship before nursing school that is keeping it working with such ease and that he has been able to adjust and understand that I have a lot on my plate with school...you can make it work, you'll just feel as if you have no time solely for you and you only...but I've lived that way for years and I'm still pretty content. Best of luck!

    Workout thread...

I've been all about walking/jogging since nursing school! I used to try to incorporate some type of aerobic workout videos and whatnot, but I've definitely been getting into my treadmill and inching up more and more on the incline each week! I've been getting some intense workouts! I am well overweight, but I am motivated more than ever to get on the right track! I've cut out icky foods and sodas, but working out, I definitely enjoy walking and jogging! I try to burn anywhere from 250-300 calories a walk or jog. I really can't wait to gradually move it up to running, but I am building myself up at the pace that is healthy. :)

    Thursday 01.19.2012 - Good Morning! :)

good morning to all! :heartbeat i am in need of some prayers and thoughts today! i am taking my first nursing fundamentals test and it's over 6 chapters. we only had three days of lecture before this test, and i'm freaking out, but trying to remain calm. i've studied as much as i could, but the first test is always the nerve-racker. she says she will be able to grade them today before we leave as well...which will be even more of a grueling waiting process. she did the same with our drug cal test. i made a b, but i could have had an a. i made careless mistakes and i hope it will not be the same on this test. i am going to try to set all anxiety aside! besides all of that personal struggle (lol) i am hoping to have a great day today! here i am, up at 4am and about to go over my material once more. i have a lot to do today and definitely hoping to have a decent one! i hope everyone woke up feeling healthy and happy this morning, and if you didn't, maybe by the end of the day you will feel better. everyone be safe and have a wonderful day!

good morning to all and i hope you all have a beautiful day! brooke, i have not been in your situation, but i have been around one similar. it is a tough mindset to wrap your head around. i know it has to be, when a mother doesn't want anything to do with their child or the responsibilities that come along with something so beautiful that they helped bring into the world. every other weekend sounds as if it would be best...but it's easy to believe she might not even want to see them that often. i hope it all works out for the best for the children. sabby, i hope you have a wonderful day today as well! :) i am getting ready to leave out for school...first test of the semester and for the lpn program for me. i'd be lying if i said i wasn't nervous! i've prepared and studied, so we'll see how this works out! it's drug cal....really hope for the best! math and i have never been buddies, but i think i've got this one in the bag. everyone have a wonderful day!

    Quitting caffeine :0

oh man, good luck! it can be done, you just have to be strong the first couple of weeks! i went cold turkey and it lasted for 4 months, but then i got back into the nasty habit! i actually just recently decided to cut out all sodas again, but being a nursing student...i've just got to have my morning cup of coffee, but i limit that to no more than 16 oz. daily. when i eliminated it completely, the first few days i had headaches and felt kind of sluggish, but i increased my water intake to 8-12 glasses a day and i really did feel so much better without the caffeine! you can do it! :d

Keeping fit---at home or at the gym?

i give myself a good mixture. i live right across the street from a middle school, so i utilize their track on most days. i also go to the gym to spice up my routine. i couldn't walk just for fitness without burning out, and my home isn't the most suitable place for working out, so i may go to the gym 3x a week and walk 3-4 days out of the week, or swap them around in various ways.
