    I agree with all that.
Another poster asked why it was so expensive, and no one answered.  That is what we need to know first before we can fix anything.
Subsidizing childcare isn’t going to fix most of those issues.  Certainly not the supply side of it.  Instead of giving out money to use on childcare, maybe it would be more cost effective to encourage more people to open that kind of business.  Especially the home childcare model.  Maybe some regulations could be better thought out, and education could be standardized and left to a school to do and certify workers ( like is done for CNA’s).  This may help keep the costs of insurance down as well.
Thats just a few thoughts off the top of my head as someone has had spent almost zero time trying to figure it out.  Surely there are some experts who have even more and better ideas.
Generally speaking, things that are subsidized usually get more expensive.

A Emmy-winning journalist’s opinion on bias in today’s media.  Lara Logan of CBS:
“That’s distortion of the way things go in real life, because although the media has historically always been left-leaning, we’ve abandoned our pretense, or at least the effort, to be objective today."

Doubtful she's committing career suicide, she's currently the darling of the right wing media.  Surely Fox News or someone will pick her up.
I appreciate when people do call out the media and their biases.
She makes a lot of generalizations there.
Such as  " all the coverage on Trump all the time is negative".
Or "  “How do you know you’re being lied to? How do you know you’re being manipulated? How do you know there’s something not right with the coverage?” she asked. “When they simplify it all and there’s no gray. There’s no gray. It’s all one way. Well, life isn’t like that. If it doesn’t match real life, it’s probably not — there’s something wrong.”      Which makes no sense to me, other than feeding into the paranoia that the media is not to be trusted and is fake news.
She also states that 85% percent of reporters are Democrats as an assured fact and doesn't state a source.  Of course she's being interviewed but as a journalist surely she should back this up.   I can't find any documentation of this fact.   From 2014 I found this:
    https://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2014/05/survey-7-percent-of-reporters-identify-as-republican-188053
It states:     Meanwhile, the number of journalists who consider their role to be “investigating government claims” is at its highest yet, with 78.2 percent finding that aspect of their jobs “extremely important.”  Obama was president then.  Obviously with a Republicans in power investigating government claims would make it seem like they were slanted to the left.
I think sometimes when media says "Trump falsely stated...." which is a true unbiased statement, the right will scream "the media is so anti-Trump and biased", when it merely is a true statement.
We have long had editorials in newspapers which were slanted one way or another, and now we have news pundits that are slanted one way or another, and the internet.  It's sometimes hard to filter through what is opinion and bias and what is fact.  So I will agree with her on that.

With Kamala Harris, I don’t have a problem with the venue or the fact reporters were there to cover her.  As Tweety mentioned and you have shown, there have always been candidates doing these types of these with reporters following them around.  And, these are humans and I’m sure there have always been journalists and candidates who have developed some kind of bond or friendly rapport.
I feel that at one time, journalists took better care to be objective and to not show bias or the appearance of bias.  What struck me was that these three reporters from the major networks don’t seem to care if they appear objective or not.  They are there to cover a story, but via Twitter made themselves part of the story.  Kinda goes back to what I said of journalism not adhering to any kind of professional standard.
Imagine a reporter covering Trump while he golfed video’d himself giving Trump golf tips, high fiving him after a great shot, and then Tweeting out the video.  A week later the same reporter publishes a investigative article that concludes there is no collusion between Trump and the Russians.  I can only imagine what would be said by some here, especially by our former journalist.

I don’t fault the media much here.  The politicians are the ones shooting their mouths off before they know anything.
I did notice they haven’t said much about a black man shooting up his wirkplace with a illegal gun in a state with some of the toughest gun laws on the books.

I want saying the media should praise him or be buddies.  My point was that if they want to at least appear objective, they shouldn’t Tweet themselves offering fashion advice and praise to a candidate.

I agree with everything here, including the “corporate welfare”.  Usually though, if your city doesn’t provide it, someone else will.  And so the game goes.  You have weigh the benefits vs cons.  It seems NY didn’t do that so well in this instance.
I love Amazon for the same reasons.  Last Sunday I ordered a textbook at 9pm on Sunday night and had it the next afternoon.

Oh my, I decided to read your replies today and this is what I find?
You know you’re on my ignore list, and you stated something like that you don’t care and you’re glad.
Then, what exactly is the purpose of this post?
Im not reading you, except periodically like today, so I’m not seeing most of whatever this is supposed to be.  But everyone else has to.
I think out of respect to them, you should explain the reasoning behind posts like this.

I think that was Amazon's reaction, "meh..you don't want us, we'll find a place to go, can't deal with your drama".  Yes, cities try to lure with the tax breaks.  They were able to secure six million in breaks from Hillsborough County here in 2015 for those 2,000 jobs.  Orlando offered 40 million for a warehouse there....and so it goes.
