Anybody else watching Boston Med right now?

I really like this show and I'm pretty sure tonight was the last episode. Bummer.

    Do you smoke???

Yeah, I can smell it too in traffic! It crazy! I never thought 5 cars out could smell if I was smoking. Guess I was wrong. LOL:smokin: I think I'm on day 26. I've lost count. I guess that's a good sign! I need to go to my calendar and check:)

night shift and new puppy!! any tips?

Well, you said your dogs couldn't hold it for more than 4 hours at a time. Just wondering.

night shift and new puppy!! any tips?

Do you have to get up in the middle of the night to take them out then?

night shift and new puppy!! any tips?

It's impossible to get a dog to hold it for more than 4 hours when they are that young. I have potty trained 2 dogs in the past 2 year and I got them both at the beginning of the summer so I would have plenty of time for them. They get better about holding it at about 5 to 8 months. At a year they should have full bladder function, but some dogs have it earlier than that.

    Undercover Boss

I think it would be great. It would also give the public insight into how hard nurses work and what nurses' jobs really are.

    Undercover Boss

Has anyone seen the show Undercover Boss? I'm not an RN yet or even in nursing school, but from what you're saying it might be interesting to have a bigwig come down and try to work different jobs in the hospital. It might get some perspective out there.

    Do you smoke???

Congratulations! I'm halfway there! It's weird but I feel like I have more time in my day. Does anyone else feel like that after quitting?

    Do you smoke???

I'm pretty sure that's how my husband is. He is NOT happy about me asking him to quit, but I don't want him to come home from overseas when I'm now an ex-smoker and smell like smoke. Hopefully he can quit, but I'd say 75% of soldiers smoke, so it's going to be hard for him.

    Do you smoke???

So just wanted to update that tomorrow it will be a full two weeks since I have quit smoking! Day 14 will be pretty phenomenal! I am also excited for the month milestone (well everyday is a milestone pretty much) LOL. I also wanted to add that I went to the pool yesterday with my friend and her husband and she lit up a cigarette (my brand) and I didn't even bum one!! I felt like it, and if I had been drinking alcohol I know it would have been a different story. That's why I'm not drinking for at least 2 months, and when I do, I'm going to just have a shot or 2 and home where I'm not around other smokers, so I can get used to drinking without a crutch. When my husband gets home from Iraq, and we have platoon parties everyone will smoke except for 2 of the wives (and now me). That should take some getting used to!

    Do you smoke???

I'm not using anything like a patch or nicorette. I actually tried nicorette and it upset my stomach. I actually had planned on quitting 10 days ago, and I thought, "I'll just smoke one more pack". I was studying the lymphatic system, and I opened up my book and it went right to a diseased lung page right after I'd had that thought. Then it occurred to me that I was being irrational, and it was just the addiction making me want to smoke, not actually me since I've wanted to quit for so long. Now I've been smoke free for 10 days! Another thing I've been doing is keeping my hands busy. I know everyone says that, but what do you do? I decided I would start working on my toenails and give myself a pedicure every night. I also keep my fingernails filed down really nicely. Another thing that keeps your hands busy is oranges. They are a great snack and fill you up, and plus they take FOREVER to peel!!!:)

I too look up pictures of diseased lungs when I have a craving!!

    Do you smoke???

I'm starting day 10 smoke-free and haven't had any weak moments, and I too have dreamed twice that I have smoked a whole pack! It's awful how strong this addiction is.
