    Afghan Taliban Hang 7 year old . . . .

    Scumbags.
  2. People just need to stop being judgemental period. I know exactly what made me fat and it wasn't just fast food, it was a combo of fast food, depression, and lack of exercise. Instead of posting judgemental responses, we should be encouraging each other to have better habits, not punishing.

I think there is something wrong with me.....

You got it, I am really not accustomed to the attention at all. It's seems so foreign to me right now. I think it will just take time. I'm still pretty self-conscious about myself and my body. I feel a little more confident than I did before. But I'll try to remain patient. There is that saying that there is someone for everyone, maybe I just haven't found him..
  4. I've never really had a relationship with a man. Part of it is due to my obesity and I hid myself away and never let anyone close to me. I had male friends but that was it. Now that I've lost a bunch of weight, guys are starting to notice me more, guys that have never known me before the weight-loss. I get a lot of compliments but that is it. I want to start dating but can't really seem to find any guys that seem interested in me. I'm not entirely sure what to do.

    Arizona Immigration Law

I think that we need more guards patrolling the border to control the amount of illegal immigration that is coming in from Mexico. And people don't realize this but a lot of the violence that is going on in Mexico is starting to spread into Arizona and Texas, we need to do something. I don't really see how this law will help that. How about putting our own soldiers on the border? More Border patrol officers would definately help. I agree with Leslie. The government needs to start targeting employers who use illegal workers, start imposing hefty fines on those who cannot produce the proper documentation for the workers to legally work here in the U.S.

Congress clears historic health care bill

Maybe doctors and nurses should run healthcare. They might probably know more about it than a bunch of politicians.

Congress clears historic health care bill

This is what I was trying to get at in my previous post. But whatever. There are people that totally abuse the system. My ex-friend turned down two part-time jobs that offered good benefits and overtime so she could stay on unemployment because she got more money from unemployment. That to me is abuse. Like a previous poster said, "People need to start helping themselves.."

Congress clears historic health care bill

I agree with this. I see this every day. The "oh, I don't have to work because there's WIC, welfare, and other programs to give me stuff for free", yet they figure out a way to have cable, an expensive cellphone etc.... And please before anyone says that this doesn't happen, give me a break. It happens all the time. An ex-friend of mine has this same mentality. I work hard as hell for what I have. I don't mind paying taxes to support those who need the help but there needs to be a limit and a cut off point at some point and I don't feel that I should have to fork over half of what I make to do so.

Congress clears historic health care bill

They are selling out America so that they can gain control and make an already dependent society even more so (for the most part). It's never been about government or insurance but it has always been about socialism and control. It is insane to think that this bill will actually SAVE us money, are youa fool to really believe that. Weren't we told that the stimulus bill would create all of these thousands of jobs as well...folks wake up they are lying to us!!!!!!!! (Next they'll be telling us what we can and can not eat, drink and everything else). Whether you be democrat or republican let's take our contry back, it doesn't belong to Washington it belongs to us. What makes this country great is its people not the politicians. Vote these thiefs out and let's put representatives in that have our interest at heart. They want lines drawn of color, race, politics, etc. because that hides the real problem.

A Letter to Gastric Bypass Patients.

I just feel like the OP is quite ill-informed.

A Letter to Gastric Bypass Patients.

Thanks for the encouragement, Leslie. Down 102lbs at the moment. I'm 48lbs from goal. And nope, no one will make me regret my decision. I'm glad to have experienced this and will continue to support and educate those who are curious about the procedure.

A Letter to Gastric Bypass Patients.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- wait to say it when you are 70 y. o. few days ago we addmitted pt with complications who had bypass 2 years ago. even then, i would still not regret it and i am well aware of the complications. and out of curiosity what complications is this patient having? bowel obstruction? hernia? ulcer perforation? those complications can happen to anyone not just gastric bypass patients. as i said before you cannot generalize all gastric bypass patients as having complications. i know patients who had the surgery five years ago and had zero complications. judge not lest ye be judged!for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

i would also like to add: judge not lest ye be judged!for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. i know many a christian who have had the procedure and do not regret it.

A Letter to Gastric Bypass Patients.

Those who are not happy with it are not happy because they thought it was a cure. My surgeon says that it is just a tool. The initial weightloss is from the surgery but after six months, the new stomach or pouch as we RNYers call it, expands to accomodate the needs of the body. I can eat 2/3 cup of food as opposed to the ounce I could eat after surgery. It is up to the patient to monitor their calorie intake as well as their protein intake. While many think it's a quick fix and the easy way out, it is not. I find it insulting when people do.

A Letter to Gastric Bypass Patients.

I have had gastric bypass. It was performed 9 months ago. I have had NO problems. I went to a center of excellence in Bariatric surgery and I would recommend the procedure to anyone who is morbidly obese like I was. I think it's wrong to assume that all gastric bypass patients have complications because not all do. I have had not one. My labs are within normal limits and I do not have to see my surgeon for 3 more months. I dieted, I exercised, I lost weight and gained it back x 20. I was 150lbs overweight. I will NEVER regret my decision to have the surgery. It saved my life.
