You are reading page 2 of Prince died. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

Just watched "My Guitar Gently Weeps" with his performance. Unreal. Flu is a KILLER. Apparently came on quick for him. Horrible, horrible.

I read that his plane had to make an emergency landing to get him care on April 15. But he was on stage the next night, saying he was fine. As nurses, we know that viral illnesses are often incorrectly referred to as "the flu." So no telling what he actually had.

I wonder if he progressed to pneumonia or some kind of viral myocarditis.

Very sad indeed.

All these baby boomer musicians are bloody dying this year, and not necessarily due to their wild days of partying and drugs. David Bowie had cancer, Glenn Frey had complications from rheumatoid arthritis, Lemmy of Motorhead also had cancer, and now we hear Prince may have had the flu?! What a terrible year for music. And most of the musicians I like come from the baby boomer generation.

RIP Prince. I'm going to download Purple Rain today.

I had the fortunate experience to go to see him in concert.

I wanted to marry him as a child; so technically I am his widow ;) and now the spokesperson for getting the flu shot. (not like I wasn't before)

I will miss him, he was one of my favorite musician, and his spirit to to do this on his own terms as an artist, especially when he was battling with his contract with Warner Bros., he was a wonderful activist for artists to aspire to, and was an inspiration for me to understand that one can be a freethinker and push back against the status quo.

He was a prolific song-writer & musician. My favorite as his song, "1999". Unbelievable! He will be sorely missed! RIP, Prince! :(

He died from the flu because he drove his LITTLE RED CORVETTE wearing his RASPBERRY BERET in the PURPLE RAIN.

I don't want to speculate about his death. Rumors all over the internet.

I wanted to marry him too, but I was an adult!

I also had the pleasure of seeing him in concert..... so much of his music was transcendent, spiritual . SO different than "just" the sexy, smoldering performer you'd see on MTV (not that there was anything wrong with that!). I found my Purple Rain album (actual, vinyl album) today & wept. :(

He was the most thought provoking, no boundaries and sensual artist in my opinion. I ran into him in the 1980's as I was leaving the club in St Paul via the backdoor and he was coming in. It was a surreal moment.
