It just tickled me, when a poster tried to use recent election in Australia, as some sort of gauge as to how US elections in 2020 would fall out.

The post demonstrated to me, the desperation Trumpsters must be feeling.

Because truthfully, THIS is how 2020 is shaping up:

Even Americans Who Report Financial Improvement Under Trump, Are Split On Voting For Him

That comes from today's WaPo, that has a story about the latest poll numbers from Quinnipiac University poll.

From the story:

"More than half of respondents said they will definitely not vote for Trump in 2020."

It is as I have stated all along: If his approval numbers are crappy with a good economy, he is in real trouble.

He should be sailing along.

Instead, Trump is facing rocky waters.

It seems that most Americans don't like Trump, or his policies, despite a good economy.

A poster erroneously stated that liberals want the economy to tank, in order to defeat Trump.

Nope.

Looks like he's in trouble no matter if the unemployment rate was 0%.

Most people can see through the buffoon.

Many election experts disagree with your analysis. They say Trump will win, many say in a landslide.

Its still a ways off.  With a healthy economy, including record unemployment for almost every demographic.  Then we have the Mueller report coming out more in his favor then not, and we’ll soon learn more about the illegal and unethical spying on his campaign.

Combine that with a lackluster field of Democrats running, and it’s all shaping up well for Trump at the moment.

Despite what folks say, I doubt anyone here would be willing to bet their life savings against him, the way things look today.

Personally, I think/believe that any and all of the candidates for the 2020 election have to be out of their minds to WANT to run for the Presidential Office.

And personally, too, the more I read political stuff, the more I want to find a BIG rock to live under.

And, humorously (to me), just after I wrote that last sentence, a DEAD bug just fell on my keypad!

Maybe you could share the portions of the Mueller report that you believe are in Trump's "favor".  It is expected that Trump supporters will find some other perceived corruption and criminality to point at while insisting that Mueller exonerated Trump. That is the current propaganda being forwarded by the Propagandist in Chief and deflection and projection are common tools of Trump apologists.

The point of view of a right-wing media outlet, determined to support Trump, no matter what.

It doesn't mean a whole lot to me.

In fact, it means nothing to me.

The behavior of Trump indicates to me, he is very worried.

And he should be.

I guess you didn't watch coverage of Justin Amash's Town Hall.

He is the lone Republican, with any sense of duty to country, who is willing to say the Emperor is wearing NO clothes.

Standing ovation for Mr. Amash!

In Trump country!

As the Grateful Dead likes to sing:

Trouble ahead, and trouble behind.

Bernie or Bust folks are joining Trump in calling foul to the mainstream media.  They say there is a blockade against him and this is rigging the election against him because of their fear of him.  I call bullcrap because a simple Google search reveals many articles written about him and covering him.  With over 20 candidates running there's only so much mainstream press can cover.

On the other hand, what is really happening is that his Star is falling in the large pack.  People, like myself are beginning to wonder if he is the right choice.

Yeah, Bernie is falling in the polls.

I really have no opinion on Bernie.

I remain a Never Trumper, who vote for Bozo The Clown, if they are the Democratic nominee.

Just beat Trump!

That is my motto.

All good points. I'm not sure who these "election experts" are you're referring to, but I would say that most experts at this stage of the game are undecided and know there are a lot of factors going into an election a year and many months away.  But yes, if those things come to pass things might look good, especially if people believe, such as yourself, that an investigation is illegal and unethical spying  and the Meuller report fizzles and right wing media keep spinning, it could certainly go run Trump's favor.

Did you read about poll showing younger voters, since 2016, turning out in larger numbers.

Read about that last week.

The bad news for Trumpsters, is that these younger voters tend to vote Democratic, and are encroaching on the numbers of older voters, who may tend to vote Republican.

Couple that news with TWO possible trade wars, growing income inequality, the fact that Trump is a criminal and highly unpopular, and you really have to question the findings of these so-called "experts."

The Democratic field is hardly lackluster.

Twenty-three vibrant candidates, pitted against an unpopular moron.

A new Emerson Poll found that some supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary would prefer Donald Trump in the general election to some of Sanders’s primary opponents.

The poll is from April so things might have changed.  But I just can't imagine someone that supports someone as far left as Sanders preferring Trump. I

I've posted about the ONE Bernie supporter nurse I know who literally went nuts after Bernie Sanders lost the primary.

At the hospital this person was ordered not to talk politics in any public area of the hospital including hallways, patient rooms, elevators and the cafeteria. But could not do that.

That person was finally terminated after yelling at a physician that Hillary killed Vince Foster in his office, had sex with Janet Reno. hired a pilot to suicide blowing up the plane that crashed killing the pilot and Ron Brown, said Hillary was running a child prostitution ring in the basement of a Washington DC pizza restaurant, she was dying of Cancer, had AIDS, and had only six months to live. (All those so called facts had been published in the National Enquirer.)

“Democratic activists booed former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) on Saturday after he warned party faithful about the perils of embracing socialism and socialist positions ahead of next year's presidential race.”

I kind of agree with that sentiment  "If we don't draw a clear distinction between Democrats and our candidates and socialism, the Republicans will paint us into a corner that we can't get out of."  Because republicans have already started denouncing socialism, knowing of course the Democratic stance isn't true socialism and probably like a lot of democrats themselves don't even know what socialism is.

However, as evidenced by the boos it is a balancing act because many people in the party are moving towards wanting social programs like medicare for all, free education, etc. expanded and embraced.
