If this was directed to me, I do, and did, read beyond the headline.

The next paragraph following the one you quoted:

If he isn't suggesting it's a hoax, what is he saying?

He also said they "are milking it for all it's worth ".

So taken it all together, he's suggesting the Dems are using the crisis to play political games.  Which becomes more apparent everyday.

The Trump haters will see what they want, however.

Once again, no one is saying the actual disease is a hoax.

"Eric Trump said Democrats would drop their objection to reopening American businesses after the election is over, regardless of the deadly virus."

Oh.

Play number one.

Denial, of what is obvious to most reasonable people.

But Americans appear to be divided into two camps: Those who listen to the scientific experts, and those who listen to Trump.

Such as Bill the Science guy, and the Nirwegian teen climate change expert?

"While the Department of Health directive may have seemed justifiable at the time, given the extreme circumstances New York was anticipating at the apex of the crisis, the policy has contributed to tragic results. Many New York nursing homes have been ravaged by the pandemic, with more than 5,300 of their residents believed to have died from the outbreak.

Critics believe many of those deaths are directly tied to the policy and say the outcome was predictable, given long-standing and well-documented problems at nursing homes.

"We all know that nursing homes are seriously understaffed and under-equipped," said Ron Kim, a Democrat in the state Assembly whose Queens district includes nursing homes ravaged by the virus. "It was never their mission to treat COVID-19 patients."

Sure.

Right.

The only folks politicizing CVirus are Trump, and the Red Hatters at those Red Hat "tyranny" rallies.

Most reasonable people understand thst.

Now the Trump administration, via Alex Azar, are blaming Americans for Their own deaths.

Deplorable.

Play number three, in the very limited Trump playbook: Deflection, again.

Eric Trump Claims Social Distancing Is a Democrat 'Strategy' and COVID-19 Will 'Magically' Disappear After Election

Is the headline Time is using.  I would agree sometimes reporters will use click bait and paraphrase.

First of all, all Republican states declared national emergencies and almost all of them supported and required social distancing.  So why is it now suddenly a Democrat strategy.  How was it first the Democrats "new hoax" to get Trump and then after thousands of people died, they changed their mind that it was something to be taken serious and then when social distancing helped to curb the disease, they are now going back to the strategy that Democrats have created it to get Trump.

He's deplorable and dangerous.   Obviously Democrats are going to politicize Trump's failures in the pandemic.  But to politicize it back in such a way is dangerous.  It just shows how desperate they are to risk public health to get Trump re-elected.  Polls show he's going to lose and sensible Republicans themselves have already decided he's going to lose.  They see Trump as a sinking ship and are beginning to understand he might drag them down with him and are at a loss of what to do.  So the Trump's continue to just make stuff up.

I'm not  saying Democrats aren't a hot mess too.  The country is in turmoil and to not come together for the common good is really breaking my spirit.

People like myself in the middle get accused of valuing the economy more than human life, and wanting to destroy the country with social distancing.

I pretty much hate everyone right now.

Can't you smell the desperation in the air, Tweety?

Trump and Minions are all over the place with blame for CVirus deaths going to Americans, test manufacturers, CDC, Obama, anywhere but where the blame belongs: Donald John Trump.

He has botched everything to do with a reasonable response to a pandemic.

When I was a kid, I had a toy called 'Time Bomb.'

You sound up a toy bomb, and passed it around until it went "off" in someone's hands.

Looking back, what a sick toy!

Trump is playing 'Time Bomb 2020.'

But no matter how hard he tries to "pass" the bomb, it remains his to hold.

" BioScience said: “The Healight technology employs proprietary methods of administering intermittent ultraviolet (UV) A light via a novel endotracheal medical device. Pre-clinical findings indicate the technology’s significant impact on eradicating a wide range of viruses and bacteria, inclusive of coronavirus. The data have been the basis of discussions with the FDA for a near-term path to enable human use for the potential treatment of coronavirus in intubated patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).”

Trump frequently mocked science, to the point of calling it a Democrat hoax,  and is a chronic liar so it's no wonder what he says is mocked and not trusted.  I'm sure this makes his supporters feel better but this isn't new news.

Those are all fair points.  I was one who thought the media hype or "hoax" was in play.  And, to some extent I was wrong.  I do think both sides are still playing politics, using whatever they can with this to their advantage.  Pelosi's "Heros" bill is a fine example.

I think your reading this all wrong.  You and I both agree we need to safely begin to get the economy going.  Obviously,  for you its not because you're desperate enough to "risk public health to get Trump re-elected."

Most of us want to get things going for the same reasons you do.  Not for Trump's sake.  He has just as much to lose as to gain, anyway.

I also think you've way overestimated any fear there is that Trump is going to lose.  Polls keep swinging back and forth.  Biden is eventually going to have to emerge from his basement and face his past plagiarism,  creepy episodes, rape allegation, political stances, failed campaigns x 2,  his apparent worsening dementia, and will have to face Trump in a debate.

The thing that a Trump voter fears most is that Biden gets replaced.
