Convenient how the headline only names Mr. Burr.  From the same article:

This article also mentions Mr. Inhofe ($400,000) and Ms. Loeffler (unspecified millions).  As Mrs. Loeffler's husband is the chairman of the NY Stock Exchange I find this one most concerning for a potential conflict.

Sorry, Chare, my fingers and brain often work at different speeds.

Burr is Chair of Intelligence Committee.

He briefed business leaders of severity of virus.

From today's WaPo:

Senator Burr Offered Dire Warning About The Coronavirus, At Private Lunch Three Weeks Ago

That was first story, and it first appeared yesterday.

So, why did Republican Burr not share his warning with all of us?

And why didn't he contradict Trump, who was still making nonsensical statements about the virus at the time?

I guess the answer is: He was a little busy protecting his finances.

Fox News lead story and who they are concentrating on more than the others is Democrat Dianne Feinstein.

My loss to date on my 401K is 25%.  Some people that are stock market smart could have seen the writing on the wall, but I agree that if anyone had any insider trading knowledge this would happen they should be prosecuted.

People initially actually said it was made up by the Democrats and wasn't true, that it was being exaggerated as a weapon against Trump,

No one said " it wasn't true".  Trump stopped travel from China back in January.  Of course he thought it was a real threat.  And, Biden criticized him for it.

Yes, he did say some nonsensical things in  one of his earlier press conferences.  And the criticizim fir that is valid.

At the same time,   that hasnt translated to people not taking it seriously.  The interviews I saw with spring breakers on the beach didn't indicate they were there based on anything that Trump said.

The fact that we are posting in a thread titled "National Scandal" kinda backs up the thought this is being used against him.

Let us all be clear about something. With regards to the pandemic that the world is collectively experiencing, NOTHING was intentionally created for the sole purpose to being used against "him" (Trump). Nothing. The words and actions by Trump, especially to his initial response to the Coronavirus, is verifiable proof to how woefully and dangerously incompetent he is as President of the United States.  Trump's dangerous incompetence goes back even further, of course. The United States is experiencing the ill-effects of Trump's decision to weaken the CDC, and his action to close down the governmental office responsible for monitoring and responding to pandemics (like what we are experiencing now). It takes a special level of magical thinking for anyone to continue on defending Trump. It's seen all the time on Facebook. Such delusional thinking only serves to weaken our country and its response to this pandemic. Trump is responsible, and needs to be held accountable for his dreadful words and actions. At this point in time the honorable thing for Trump to do is to resign as President. (Although Pence has his own dark issues that are less than honorable.)

As for the scandal involving the Senators dumping stock in the wake of this pandemic? All, regardless of party affiliation, should be held accountable to their actions. If their actions are against the law, then, if found guilty, they should serve jail time.

Speaking of jail time. . . Trump faces at least one trial and possible jail time if found guilty. Trump has a documented history of questionable business decisions.

Burr was initially mentioned because NPR has tape of him briefing Intelligence Committee about severity of coronavirus weeks ago.

That was the first story to come out yesterday.

That counters Trump lies, about no warning.

Now stories are coming out about stock sell offs.

Kudos to public radio of

I question why no one is outrage by the CDC telling frontline defenders of Coranovirus to wear to

I'm talking about followers.  I posted a video with someone clearly stating she thought Democrats were making it up, and others who thought it was media hype.  This is where Trump's initial success lies, in that his followers distress the news and truth.

The issue with the spring breakers here in Florida is a youth thing and lack of knowledge and doesn't have much to do with Trump.

You claim this is being used against him and then post an article of the a Democrat congresswoman praising him.  Which is it?

Yes, it's a national scandal that they as is posted in the original post that Trump Jr. and everyone was calling it fear mongering and weaponizing.  They aren't calling it fear mongering now are they?

Things have changed in a couple of weeks of his disastrous press conferences and fumbling around, and even in the days this thread was started.  We're trying to get behind Trump and unite.  We really are.  We have to.  I'm willing to move forward now that at least the President and state governments are acknowledging that maybe something is amiss and it's just not media hype or the democrats new hoax to get back at him.

Most posters here know I am unable to do that using a phone that is only semi-smart, and out of data.

Which is why I post headline and source.

If anyone is truly interested, they can go to WaPo site, or NPR site.

The same day Burr was telling the paying lunch guests of severity of threat from coronavirus, Trump was telling followers it would miraculously be over.

Hmm.

What's up with that disconnect?

What we want is to get behind a  "President" who assumes the leadership role that it is. What we need is an individual in that office to take the role of the "President" seriously and to heart, especially NOW! It ain't happening. For example, as President, Trump has the power to ensure that the proper PPEs are manufacture and distributed. So far, he's not utilizing this power. Quite the opposite, actually. I don't see Trump as fulfilling the role of President of the United States. He is not the leader that this country desperately needs.

Trump needs to resign.

Tweety, I heard interview with couple from NC this morning, on NPR.

They were in FL, on the beach, celebrating a birthday or anniversary, I don't recall which.

They are having a good time!

They aren't worried!

There is nothing to worry about!

I was already well aware of the morons among us, but folks like this, and the right-wingers in the WaPo article, give new meaning to the word MORON.

SOME things have changed, while others have not.

I heard his presser on Wednesday.

I heard Trump refer to coronavirus as Chinese virus.

So, the racism continues with Trump.

That will never end!
