You are reading page 2 of President Obama HAS reduced the budget.. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

He doesn't seem to let that matter one little bit when he decides to sign executive orders.

Despite trying to work with a congress who desires to vote on as little as possible, this POTUS has not used executive order as much as he might have. Obama surely has not used it as much as some of his predecessors.

Show me the budget that was passed by Congress in the last four years? that's what I thought.

Budget of the United States Government, Fiscal Year 2013 contains the Budget Message of the President, information on the President’s priorities, budget overviews organized by agency, and summary tables.

Congress is required by law to pass a budget annually and to submit the budget passed by both houses to the President for signature. (Article L Section 9) http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html

Federal agencies cannot spend money unless funds are authorized and appropriated. Appropriations bills must pass both the House and Senate and then be signed by the president in order to give federal agencies legal authority to spend.

I think it helps to look at the trends in growth of federal spending as well.

We are two weeks away from Sequester. Where is Congress? Are they working on the budget? Has the House been working on this legislative action?

No, Congress is on vacation, again. What were the first bills in the House? Were they to find solutions to the problems of Sequester? No. They were back at getting into women's' panties and legislating more about women's' reproductive rights.

Back to vacation. How many have they had since the new Congress? it is easier to figure how many days they have actually met. 8 days in Jan. and scheduled for 11 in Feb.http://majorityleader.gov/113thCongress1stSession.pdf Few things can be done when they are never working. Once again they want to play chicken with the government. With our lives and our livelihoods. With our troops and their lives. With all of the USA watching they are vacationing.

2014!

And here is the president on vacation again for a nice golf outing. And who came up with the idea of Sequester??? That's right Obama.

What did Jon Stewart have to say?

I challenge you to think of another punch line; this one has been overdone.

The president plays golf over a weekend. So What! He is on call 24-7 for every type of thing going. Now North Korea has nuclear capabilities. That certainly is not an issue that Congress wants to deal with an the President has to. Congress waltzes into DC, meets with their favorite lobbyists, have a caucus, bluster about for a couple of days and poof, gone again. No being on call to carry the weight of the world, no having to meet with every other country while trying to deal with the fact that so many millions of dollars and millions of lives are at stake and Congress is playing patti-cake and trying to legislate women's parts rather than the work needed by the Congress.

Hagel's nomination being held up is just another example of their craziness. He was the one they wanted before Obama wanted him so now they filibuster that rather than work on Sequester and go ahead with his appointment.

I do hope they are held accountable for their failure to act. Their misuse of government funds by accepting pay for their playground experience has gotten old. Just think if Sequester meant they would not be paid, have health coverage lapse, denied access to their privileges, as the civilians on military bases will have happen, they would get serious in a heartbeat.

I wonder if 22g might give us an example of a conservative media outlet that has discussed the inability of the 112th congress to actually accomplish anything.

Are you not distressed by the partisan freeze that has gripped our government?

For years, many of us have thought that a 3rd party would be good for the congress.

Now we add a Tea Party and the government has come almost to a standstill.
