Vet home calls.

  1. Having five dogs, we got tired of what seemed like constant vet visits for wellness checks and vaccinations. Taking them in meant a hassle of encountering possibly unruly pets and exposure to sick canines. Out of frustration I said I wish there was a vet who did house calls.

My dear wife consulted Google and set up an appointment. The vet came with her assistant and saw all five dogs. In about an hour everyone was examined, labs drawn, shots given, and meds prescribed and ordered.

Total cost was much less than what I'd been paying and the hassle factor was eliminated. Plus, our two timid ones didn't have to shiver and whine during a car trip to the vet.

I don't know if this is available everywhere but it sure has simplified checkups for this family.

There's one in my city, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's available in a lot of places. Might not be well-known, but these services are out there.

Did a search for my neck of the woods, too. They're out there.
