Hi, I am new to this forum. I work in acute rehab. I cared for a patient who grew to like me a lot. I currently am not dating anyone. She knows someone who is single and compatible with me. She says I should definitely go and contact the guy through Fb. The problem is I don't know how to initiate the conversation without bringing up the patient's name. I haven't done anything as I am up in circles on how to approach the situation.

Have you had a similar situation to this before? How have you dealt with it?

Tread very, very carefully! Developing a personal relationship with a former patient is risky no matter how you look at it. Allowing your former patient to act as matchmaker just ups that risk and gets someone else involved as well.

Did your patient tell you not to mention her name? JUSt start a conversation, who knows where does "hi" would lead you to. Try to know him better before you decide to meet up.
