So I was browsing on Groupon and came across this gem.

Seriously?

Do men really wear their hair in buns these days?

Pretty sure a guy wearing this would be a "Deal Breaker" for me.

(So if it is up your alley but have darker tresses, it is available in a darker shade.)

:roflmao: Leigh--

First of all, my hubby says I needn't bother buying him one, because he wouldn't wear it. Huh. Imagine that!

BUT , imagine THIS:

Where I live, here in La-La-Land, this is not at all an uncommon coiffure for guys. And it's no clip on bun they wear, either; it is their own hair, voluntarily grown and trimmed thusly! But they wouldn't be wearing a preppy polo shirt!

If I had a camera or a phone that could take pix, I promise you that in a day's time I could probably find at least a dozen guys who wear a variation of this 'do'. That's the truth!

It says 1000 bought. That means in the next few weeks we will start spotting men with these buns.

Come visit here; that hairdo is considered "cool" and HIP; I believe they are trying to make a statement with that hairdo....but I have to reiterate, it is their own hair, they grow it to have it styled thusly.

I've never seen a clip on man bun (to my knowledge) but yes, VERY common in NY.

Usually with a beard, and usually a bit more messy.

Unless the man is more coiffed, like our waiter the other night in the City who kept calling me Girlfriend.

I hate all things "hipster" but I gotta admit I like the beard, bun, plaid flannel look on men. :bag:

ETA: NOT including the poser pretty boy in the ad up there. Ugh.

I am seeing lots of 30 somethings with beards. I personally believe they have discovered the joy of not shaving. Not my favorite look. Not so many man buns, although the entertainment shows seem to show different stars sporting the buns.

I agree about the look with a beard. Some of them look really good. I have seen it more recently in NY, but more of the messy look as mentioned earlier.

Or this. This is NOT what I'm talking about with my post up there, let me clarify:

Lumbersexuals: The Men Trend That Doesn't Go Away | Fashion Tag Blog

Too calculated.

Hubs is 6'7" and can actually pick up an axe without breaking a sweat.

I just like Guys. Bein' Dudes.

My daughter's fiancé and both my adult sons and one son's best male friend all have a variation of that look - lumbersexual. In fact, that guy in the photo in your link could be one of my kids or my son's best friend.

My daughter and her fiancé are covered in tattoos (they live in Portland but the tattoos started when they still lived in CA).

My oldest son's beard is getting very long and his wife hates to be kissed by him; my 2nd son's beard was getting long as well but he shaved it a bit closer to his skin yesterday. His girlfriend like the beard long.

My oldest son's best friend (Portland, Oregon) had a beard that went down to the middle of his chest. He shaved it shorter for his wedding in Oct but it is growing out again.

They can all pick up a power saw and fall trees, walk the tree and limb it, cut it up into 2 foot lengths, load it all into a pickup, bring it back to the ranch to be split, and deliver to family.

Real lumberjacks . . . following a trend.
