You are reading page 3 of Obama Jumps Into Presidential Fray. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

Jimmy Kimmel said Obama is going to run on the promise that he will clean up the horrible mess created by the current administration.

Now that was brilliant!

that's a good one :)

Steph, didn't you notice I put a billion in my op.....I wasn't kidding.

Sorry but I only believe in NPR's reporting. ;);)

(Yeah, I saw it but thought you were kidding).

It is a crazy amount of money that politicians spend.

Why not just give a tiny % to me!!! I need it to get out of debt. :D

[quote=Joe V;4948449People are starting to see Republicans at what they are - just talk. In many states, Republicans are starting to scare people away.

They won in 2010 on a Jobs platform and what have they done so far? zilch, nada, nothing ... if anything they are adding to the unemployed

President Obama has everything going for him right now...

.

If his first ad is any example of how his campaign is going to go, he'd best try to find some accomplishments to tout. Oh, I forgot, there really aren't any.

Any he should also not forget that there are lots of us out there, who are over 55, who also use FB and Tweet and cellphones, and we vote.

I'm guess lots of his billions will be going to discredit any opposition more than try and cement his own worth.

An this would be different than any other election? How?

I guess dragging us out of the worst recession since the Great Depression accounts for nothing.

Saying he accomplished nothing is an exaggeration. They might not be impressive to you, might not be enough, might not even be your agenda, and despite it all you still won't vote for him...that's fine. With massive unemployment and debt the things that are still wrong might overshadow it all. But to spin and say he's accomplished nothing is wrong.

You will dismiss the source as biased, but I'll post it anyway:

Media ignore Obama's accomplishments to claim he has "little to show for '09" | Media Matters for America

Well, that is a good question.....my answer would be that in most cases the incumbent usually has a couple of real accomplishments to talk about....not so in this case.

We still are in the recession and it is going to get worse.

Quantify "accomplishments" for me.

If by "accomplishments", you mean imposing a health insurance mandate, pushing for "green" legislation that will cost the lower and middle classes money we don't have, getting us into yet a third Middle Eastern conflict, embracing a socialist agenda, and apologizing for America to the rest of the world, well then, I guess Obama has a long list of them indeed.

We still are in the recession and it is going to get worse.

All signs are pointing to an upswing from the ruin from the prior president, but unfortunately things like unrest in the middle east and the tsunami in Japan...things not necessarily in control by the POTUS are hurting us.

Yes the economy is fragile and going from the depths we were in to where we are now still means things are bad, but the economy is stablized and stablized under Mr. Obama's watch. Fact.

The accomplishments were in the link I provided. There are many misteps and failures for sure, but to say he's accomplished nothing is wrong. I'll concede that some of what I think are accomplishments you will think are mis-steps. But tell me you at least agree with him getting rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell.......give me one accomplishment. :lol2:

Okay, that has been accomplished on his watch, although I am not sure he can take full credit. And he certainly didn't mention it in that first campaign ad I saw.

I think the time was right for DADT to go away, but the jury is certainly out as to how successfully a transition will be made.
