Watching! Not bad, so far. Just saw an RN recap a needle. That was a wicked looking insulin syringe!

true, true...and there was only one side rail up... confused as to where this is going but hopeful it will portray what nurses actually do besides take B/Ps....oh wait...we don't even do that...

I don't really like it so far. The CNO having a lame shift report/meeting with staff RNs about hot paramedics? Come on!

Oooh, oooh me too. I'm watching it too. I'm feeling totally guilty though as a student nurse who promised be reviewing her powerpoint from yesterday's lecture. However, I just finished my 5 page leadership paper so I'd thought I'll cuddle up with an icecream brownie sunday and watch the premiere of hawthorne.

Ofcourse I cringed about the insulin and a couple of other things too. No matter what these type shows will never come close to the real world. Oh its back ! Gotta go

ok, I'm back... thank goodness for edit. Anyway, where are the techs ? Maybe they'll come later. I don't know when the last time I heard a nurse tell a patient I'll be back later to do your bed bath, unless working ICU.

I'm annoyed that the RN who questioned the MD's order still gave the med. In the real world, if we really thought it would do that much harm (the RN felt it might put the pt in insulin shock), a competent nurse would not do anything to harm the patient regardless of the order...

Hey sue, regarding ur decision about crna or acute care np, I would go for the crna. That is actually my plan once I get my masters and cns. Just my thought though....

I understand everyone's appall at recapping, but I've seen it so many times...as a student...and every nurse says.."you didn't see me do that" so I think its more real than not. The giving the insulin when you know its wrong..."I'm just a nurse" is not an excuse...its a powerful statement. You are a nurse, and you know better.

i agree with Sue Damones, i was surprised the RN still gave that insulin and he is saying he is "following Hospital's protocol to do no harm" ???
