You are reading page 23 of Nurse Jackie and HawthoRNe - thumbs up? or thumbs down?. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

I liked it...but then again I love Edie Falco....and many Showtime series like Dexter and Weeds. I didn't realize she was married w/ children though. I love how they get you w/ the cliffhanger.

Other than I Love Lucy, Dexter is my favorite show of all time....When is that coming back on, do you know???

I don't like it when nurses are potrayed in a negative light, or especially when doctors get the kudos for the things we do. When the most/only interaction that the public gets with nurses is with inaccurate accounts of nursing on "Nurse Jackie," House, Grey's Anatomy, etc., then that is what they form the opinion of the profession on. I'm sure you guys have had patients treat you like garbage, but the physicians like "gods." It would be nice for once for a show to show what nurses really do in a positive light. Come on, when is the last time one of you stowed away to have sex in the linen closet at work. Please...:angryfire

I fully agree with what Shocker29 has said. I realize now I am a minority as a new nurse that thinks the stigma attached to nurses is bad enough and now we are cast in a light that is not too professional. People get so deep into these rediculous characters portrayed on these pay channels. I'm sure I will be :angryfire for saying this, but I think how this character is being portrayed and introduced to the audience from what I've seen so far is one word: Idiot. The entertainment media in this country, and others too, seems to all be based now on how screwed up someone is, or who where and how they can score some meaningless sexual conquests. I'd just like to see some better writers coming up with something other than the same old predictable story line as mentioned above. Looking forward to seeing HawthoRN and Mercy.

I thought it was great! Then again, I am not offended easily and I have a pretty twisted sense of humor.

I have DirecTv and saw part of it tonight. I saw the nursing student go off to deliver the cart of chemo meds and Jackie banging that guy in the supply room....lol. I wasn't impressed but maybe I'll watch another episode and see, I saw they had the first few episodes on channel 101.

Maybe the one with Jada Pinkett Smith will be better?

Don't think I will be watching it. Just what you said here puts me off.

Dexter, the best show currently in production on television, returns September 27th, 2009.

I haven't watched Nurse Jackie yet, but maybe I'll do that today!

Nurse Jackie is on the edge. In one shift she obtains drugs illegally and uses them, forges a signature to make a person an organ donor, accuses a MD of killing a patient, has sex in a closet, steals money from a patient and steals boots from a colleague. I would think she will end up before the BON soon.

new season of dexter doesn't come out until this fall. showtime is so sick. a blood splatter expert obsessed with vigilante justice...a widowed suburban housewife who sells marjuana to support her family....and a cheating nurse who is addicted to pain medication. i love it!

I watched it last night. It isn't like any typical shift I've ever worked. ;)

There are "F" bombs (oh, we had a CNA who did that continuously), drug addiction and stealing of drugs (what is she snorting?), and many other things already mentioned but I think I was truly bothered by the end of the show when she walked into her home with two little girls sitting on the couch and a husband in the kitchen cooking dinner.

Those are sadder choices she is making at work now that I know she has a family.

We don't get Showtime, HBO, etc., so I doubt I'll be watching it. A little too dark for me.
